City Council - Regular Meeting

This year is extraordinary as our country celebrates the 250th anniversary of its independence. I was recently reflecting on this critical achievement in our nation's history and on the value of volunteerism in our democracy, city government, and community. Here in Woodbury, we are fortunate to have so many residents willing to contribute to our quality of life through their volunteer work. Volunteering strengthens our community in countless ways. It fosters a sense of belonging, builds connections between neighbors, and creates lasting positive impact for those we serve. As our city organization continues to grow, the city is exploring ways to better coordinate and promote volunteer opportunities throughout the city. An improved city structure around volunteerism, along with collaborating with our community partners, should help better connect organizations with volunteers and volunteers with the opportunities they seek.
