He's done a lot of projects in town.

Volunteered also with the fire department for many, many years. I don't know how many, but thank you for 30 years volunteering.

Well, welcome council person dad. I'm glad you're here and I will come back to you at the end of the meeting. We'll see if you have any thoughts, but I'm going to ask you to monitor those thoughts and we can talk about it later. So this is the date, time, and place for a public hearing on a resolution approving and authorizing execution of a development agreement by and between the City of Waverly and United Equipment Accessories, Inc. The Mayor and City Council will entertain any comments. After all comments, the hearing will be declared closed and the following action will be considered. I'll move approval of Resolution 26-143, a resolution approving and authorizing execution of a development agreement by and between the City of Waverly and United Equipment Accessories Incorporated.

Good evening, Connie Tolan, Planning and Development Specialist. As has been discussed in previous council meetings, United Equipment Accessories is in the process of expanding its Waverly operations to the acquisition of the former Winnebago Industries facility and the creation of 18 new full-time equivalent jobs. The company has been awarded state incentives through the Iowa Economic Development Authority's Business Incentives for Growth Program. The action before you tonight is to enter into a development agreement with United Equipment Accessories to provide a local incentive for the project. The agreement includes a commitment from the company to acquire and complete minimum improvements on the development property, which is located in the Waverly Urban Renewal Area, and to create 18 new full-time equivalent jobs by December 31, 2026. The local incentive is proposed to be in the form of two annual performance-based grants. The first grant will be in the amount equal to $1,000 for each of the planned 18 jobs created by December 31st, 2026. And the second grant will be in the amount equal to $1,000 for each of those jobs retained through December 31st, 2027, up to an aggregate amount not to exceed $36,000 in total incentive. The grants will be funded by tax increment financing. With that, I would like to invite Deb Mollick, CEO of United Equipment Accessories, to give you an update on the project.

Good evening, Mayor. This is my second time to come before you, and I am very grateful as I am able to represent United Equipment. I am grateful for thanking you for your continued partnership and support of United Equipment Accessories. The development agreement is more than to us than just giving us the money. It is helping us to advance manufacturing and put money into other projects. It has helped us to get support through the state and through the county of Butler to support us. This has all led to local jobs and the future growth in Waverly. So what we've done so far, and we've taken very... Thank you, Connie. We've taken very... Strong attention and deliverance on meeting the commitments of the proposal before you. UEA has already met the amendment's commitment to headcount in people. The commitment said 18 people. Currently, we have hired 21 people. We will have finished. 14 of them are manufacturing positions that we have in position and seven office positions. So we go into an area we always like to under promise and over deliver and we've met that already. We are also at the facility, we call it not the Winnebago plant, it is now UEA West plant. So we have the north plant, south plant, and the west plant in the Waverly area right now. We are right now doing the infrastructure building. Hard to get carpet in with the straight. Believe it or not, carpet comes from over there. So it's stuck in the straight of Hermes. So we won't get that until August. But we will be finished with all the interior and the signage outside by August. And by quarter four, we plan on having manufacturing representative moved over there. we always bring talent in early develop them acclimate them to our culture because the culture is waverly that's why we like to build in waverly and we continued and you guys have given us that ability to continue so thank you again for allowing us to do this commitment and we appreciate your interest in our team members that we have at uea and the amount the amount that we're growing building of our facilities and thank you for allowing us to be in the waverly committee community. So we look forward to continuing to grow and this, we're not done. We also know that we could put another 23,000 square foot building onto that if we want. So because of this, you've helped to allow this to happen and allow us to invest in some technology and we're looking at maybe making that the new technology place for UEA that we pilot. No, we're not related. We're privately held by UEA. Yeah, yeah, I saw that so no we're a family-owned company 75 years strong We continue to make that the third generation I am NOT a family member by representing and getting ready for the next member to take over more than capable So we have years to come here at UEA and in Waverly So did will they be doing the same type of manufacturing at the West plant as they do at the main one or different project?

I

Interesting question. We're going to do some of the same manufacturing because we do it well and we can expand it. But we are also moving into emerging markets in the defense industry. in drones. And so we're expecting that to change a little bit. We have some other things that we need to do in order to get into those markets that make us future ready. And that will be a good place for us to pilot those. So majority of it at this time looks like that, but with growth we're hoping that it's evolving. Great. Thanks. Yes, you're welcome. I guess my main question, Connie, is this a continuation of what we're already doing? Are you tweaking things or making them better?

I did read all the material, but I will say I got a little bit lost in it. It is a continuation of the community marketing that we have been doing since 2020. This is actually the proposal and the plan that I talked to you about during the budget meeting in January. And at that time... The proposed investment is $50,000, which was budgeted at that time through hotel motel tax revenues. You probably recall the community marketing initiative began in 2018 with some extensive research. Included a community survey, individual and group stakeholder meetings, and the development of the community brand and the strategy. And then in October 2020, we actually launched the campaign. Each year since, we have tweaked the work plan based on results that we saw from the year prior in analytics. So this year's marketing plan includes a proposal to conduct research with our target audience, which is something new to us, to evaluate how our marketing efforts and messaging have resonated with them thus far over five years, and then using those findings to develop an updated messaging plan and communications plan that will help keep the campaign relevant so That is something that's different this year that we're going to take that step back See how we've done see what we learn and then help that guide us forward I'll also mention that included in the plan is updating the Waverly welcome home website to be a DA compliant to meet their accessibility standards. That is a requirement we became aware of earlier this year, and it needs to be completed by April of 2028. So we're gonna go ahead and do that. Those are good changes to make. And so that has been taken out of the $50,000 as well. what are those I was curious about a lot of it has to do with sight and contrasting colors making sure that the contrast can be seen with people who have some visibility challenges is a lot of it. Are you any more familiar than I? That seems to be a lot of what Ambridge has been able to identify on our website, that maybe white headings on a light blue banner aren't easy to see. So there will be some of those contrast changes made to make it easier to read. Any other questions? Otherwise, I have Robin Frost is here with us from Ambridge. Okay, it's time for the Waverly Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Quarterly Report.

Thank you, Mayor and Council. Chelsea Peterson, leader of the chamber, Main Street. Supporting businesses has continued to be our focus. Our business development group has has really developed a visitation, a structured business visitation program that we are kicking off this July, this month, and that will help reconnect staff with businesses, the committee, and then identify trends to better understand our opportunities, our challenges, and to make sure that our work continues to represent the needs of the business community. We continue with business recruitment efforts, particularly around retail and dining. And those efforts were echoed in our April Main Street, Iowa partnership visit that you received that visit report. The team affirmed many of Waverly's strengths, including our partnerships, our volunteer engagement, and the continued investment in downtown Waverly. They also identified opportunities for strengthening our downtown business mix, particularly around retail and destination businesses. I'm encouraged that many of those recommendations are already in the work that we are currently doing. We also have demonstrated a commitment to planning through efforts like the city's comprehensive planning process that was adopted in 2023 that the council did with MSA. The first impressions program through Iowa State Extension is currently underway. So we are active in the timeframe where evaluators are coming into Waverly unannounced, and that will identify strengths and opportunities that first time visitors do. And then that will be reported on October 21st when they present their findings and recommendations. So that is open to the public that has been posted and will continue to push out that date of October 21st at Tendrils Waverly Health Center. We also have the opportunity to showcase Waverly on August 5th as we host the Iowa Downtown Forum organized by the Iowa Economic Development Authority. So bringing this statewide event to Waverly gives us the opportunity to show off our community and highlight our downtown, our partnerships, and the work being done. So y'all are invited to that as elected officials as well on 8.30 to 4.30 on August 5th here at City Hall. Beyond business development, continuing to work to promote Waverly as a place to live, work, shop, and visit. We also launched our new website this spring, affording improved tools for businesses, visitors, and event registration. We also published a 2026 membership directory and community guide, which continues to be a marketing, an important marketing piece for our community. In addition, the ADA just... Underlining links, like being able to click. Underlining is on ADA. It's interesting. It's on accessibility for websites. Community events, of course, continue to be an important part of our work as well. the Art Walk to concerts in Coleman, and then, of course, retail promotions and downtown beautification efforts completed alongside city staff and volunteers. As we look ahead, our priorities remain clear, supporting businesses, strengthening downtown, building partnerships, and continuing to make a community where people want to invest and call home. Resolution 26-145, a resolution of the City Council of the City of Waverly, Iowa, supports the application of Impact CNC LLC to the Iowa Economic Development Authority Business Incentives for Growth Program. Council, do I have a motion?

Second. Connie, do you want to come up and talk about this quick? You're getting your steps in walking back and forth tonight.

Impact CNC LLC, headquartered in Columbia City, Indiana, has announced plans to acquire a majority ownership interest in GMT Corporation, including its manufacturing facilities and equipment in Waverly. The acquisition will allow the company to expand manufacturing productions and operations here in Waverly. The project represents a qualifying capital investment of approximately $2 million, the retention of approximately 70 existing jobs, and the creation of 45 new full-time equivalent jobs over a three-year period. The company has applied to the Iowa Economic Development Authority for financial assistance through the Business Incentives for Growth program. Approval of this resolution demonstrates the city's support for that application as required by the IEDA. At this time, I would like to invite Dan Borcier, General Manager, Impact CNC, to tell you more about the company and the project here in Waverly.

First of all, thank you all for the opportunity to speak to you today. And I can't say enough about the doors that Connie's opened for us already here. She introduced us to a few key people with Iowa Works, who then introduced us to some other key people at 1.1 City out of Waterloo. And this is going to be critical for our growth because we're going to need people. I've got a script, but I'm not good at it. I'm just going to try to speak freely, but not cuss. We have one heck of a workforce right here in Waverly, Iowa. Years of experience as much as 38 years seniority in hourly folks on the floor, 36 years in management. Our average direct labor is 12 years. We machine parts for the agricultural industry right now, and for what we do, a lot of people don't understand it. I remember Deb, she does machining as well. She would understand this, but we hold tolerances down to four or five microns. A human blood cell is 7 microns. You can't see a human blood cell without a microscope. So we hold tight tolerances. It's important that you retain the people that you train. We want to keep every one of them. I have nothing but machinists there. In Indiana, we have machinists and then we have operators. The stuff that we produce out here is much more stringent and we need to retain that. We need to train so that we have a succession plan going forward in order to grow this business the way that we want to. We are going to be very aggressive. Uh, when this business was started years ago, it was started and ran the right way. It has not been ran the right way for five and a half to six years. Okay. And we were asked to come out here by John Deere, take a look at it, and see if we thought we could help. Initially, we were like, we don't know. So over a period of about three and a half months, which I was not involved in, and I'm just trying to be transparent with you guys. I was not involved in any of the top level negotiations. It was a well maybe to we could probably work it out. Let's see. To my boss saying to me, hey, Dan, there's a place in Waverly. It's a 60-40, but do me a favor. Take the wife out there. Drive out there and see what you think. This was in the first week of January of this year. I get back, spent three days out here, and it's Midwest, it's cold. But the difference between Iowa and Indiana and Michigan, Michigan and Indiana have trees, okay? The wind is brutal out here. So... I went to our daily fast response meeting in Indiana, which we have every day at 9 o'clock. And we go over key performance indicators. And every single department has four or five or six. And if we do what we're supposed to do in a 24-hour snapshot, we know whether or not we made money that day. We know whether or not we lost money that day and why we lost it if we did lose it. So we get done with our daily fast response. My boss says to me, this is on a Monday. I got back on Friday from the week before. He said, how quick can you get out to Iowa? I said, Jay, we have a discussion. He said, all right, I need you there tomorrow. So I came out here the next day. I packed my stuff, went to work, closed out a couple of things there, and I drove straight from Columbia City, which is the Fort Wayne area. to here and i've been back to indiana three times uh twice for two days and wants to have my knee replaced that's it we have been uh shucking and jiving here ever since i cannot tell you people how blessed i am to have the the folks that i have here in waverly that i work with i have a team um I would imagine if I were you, one of the questions would be, well, what about the culture change? We went through it. It's done. We believe in core cultures and core values. Jerry Bush, the founder of ImpactCNC. Aaron Schoon, the vice president and co-founder of ImpactCNC. Jake Kunkel, the president of ImpactCNC. Dan Boursier, the general manager here in Waverly, boots on the floor, okay? We all came from the floor. After I got out of the Marine Corps in 1988, I ran production for $3.35 an hour. And I hustled, and I did whatever I had to do to make ends meet. Every one of us have that same mentality. I don't know that any one of us have a degree. And don't get me wrong, I don't look down on anybody that does. I never had that kind of intestinal fortitude to go to school, right? You pay the other end of it by having to work your butt off to get up to where you wanna be. Well, that's the mentality that we have. We hold each other accountable. We don't take no for an answer. We find a way to win when one doesn't exist. And that's what we wanna bring to this thing. The bones of GMT are solid. This was a money-making venue at one point in time. The people that started it knew what they were doing. We can do the same thing. That's what we do. End of the day, I'm blessed. I'm excited about this opportunity. I'm excited about the fact that the current... current majority owner that we're buying our majority from was, would not take, no, he's not going to shut this place down. So, um, that we got some good people, really good people over there. I've been here for almost six months and I, I'm telling you, I've developed a love for this group. They're gritty. And from the hourly folks on the floor to the, plant operating committee that we run with every day. I'd match these guys up against anybody. On that note, a couple of positives. We have... John Deere Hitch, new program, firing up in September. MLA, Mitsubishi Logistics America, four new programs, $2.5 million annually coming on. We'll realize all that 2.5 next year, but we'll get about half of it this year. Lawton, about 400K, that's immediate. We're flipping that. And the problem with us is... When we took over, we were told there was $27 million in sales. $27 million, I could break even as long as we ran efficiently. When we peeled the onion back after the first six weeks I was here, that wasn't a real deal. We had $15 million. So now I've got to go out, my commercial team's got to go out, my sales guy's got to go out. We've got to get business now because we've got to flip this thing to where it's viable as quickly as we can possibly get it. So I'm going to you and I'm saying, hey, man, what are you screwing up on? I want your orders. Or I'm going to the customer and I'm going to John Deere and I'm going to Caterpillar. Where are your problem children? We'll fix it. Give it to us. That's the hardest way to get sales. We're also quoting for 2028, quoting for 2029. We have roughly 4.2 million realized right now in less than four months on a goal of $10 million a year, adding sales to this place. All right. And we plan on doing 10 million over the next four to five years. And then if we have to, there's all kinds of room to put more machines, And these buildings, between the two locations, the three locations, the two here and the one in Indiana, we have over 510,000 square feet. So it's a pretty big area to run. The LPM building has 1,600 millimeter CNC machines, two of them. There are four places that I know of in the United States that have machines that big. It should be real easy for us to get some work for those, and we will. We're asking for this money so that we can do this, so that we can train the new hires that we want coming in. We had deferred maintenance going on for five years. As they were not making money, they were not doing PMs on the machines. They were not fixing machines. So we've got a lot of money that we've already invested out of pocket, but there's a lot more that we're going to need. So on that note, I hope I've answered your questions, but if I haven't, please feel free to ask anything.

I mean, my gosh, we're looking to onboard over a relatively short period of time, 45 new employees. It could grow from there. And the onboarding, you know, Connie hit us up with some information. These are all interviews that I've done in just the last week. There's seven of them here. I've done four more on top of that. We're looking to hire right now. The opportunity is there for us. We're going to be running a very unique work schedule that I believe will be Attractive to individuals, it'll be something that they've never seen before in their life. So you work 150 days out of the year. You work 24 weeks, you get paid for 52. So that will get people to put an application in. 24 weeks, you get paid for 52. Yeah.

And again, that's, you know, we always had a problem over in Indiana, especially during COVID, trying to get people in the door, right? Just to get an interview. We were talking about having spike strips out in front of the building, flat tires. We'll interview them. But that schedule... You put it on the radio, you put it in the paper, people can't believe it, but yeah, yeah. How many employees do you have in Indiana? Just shy of 300, yeah. And that place has its own heartbeat. It is constantly moving 24 hours a day, six days a week.

This brings us to Resolution 26-146, a resolution approving a GASB 75 actuarial services agreement with Hub International Great Plains of Omaha, Nebraska, with the City of Waverly.

I move to approve resolution 26-146, resolution approving a GSB 75 actuarial services agreement with HEB International Great Plains of Omaha, Nebraska, with the city of Waverly for no more than $2,850 for fiscal year 26 and $2,995 for fiscal year 27, expiring December 2028. My only question is, is this replacing the accounting firm that's helped us in the last few years, or is this additional?

This is above. Every other year, you have to do what's called a GASB 75. It's for the OPEB in your audit. Another 40 pages it added. Nobody reads it. But you have to do it. And so there's only a few firms in the country to actually do those actuarial studies. Silverstone's another one. Hub is a big one. So this is the off year, so we have to get it set. And then they take that for two years, apply it in the audit, and then we redo it again. So that's what you're doing. We don't have a choice in this matter. Somebody's got to do it. And that's what we've brought to you today.

Resolution 26-147, a resolution authorizing the submission of a state recreational trail program grant application for the Waverly Rail Trail interurban and Ivanhoe Bridge replacement.

I'll move approval of Resolution 26-147, a resolution authorizing the submission of the State Recreational Trails Program grant application for the Waverly Rail Trail, Rolling Prairie Trail, Interurban, and Ivanhoe Bridge replacement project, with the total cost of the project being $1,091,600. And the source of funds will be the state recreational trails grant that will be applied for to cover 75% of construction. Capital improvement project account number 374, bond proceeds, and $40,600 will be paid for from Bremer County.

I think it's fairly competitive, but we've shown over the years of our commitment to improving this trail. We've replaced quite a few bridges already. We've done a lot of work, so I think that goes well with us. I hope we make it to the top end with us. Madison had the experience of applying to this, so she was very good at working on the application.

We'll play that for you and then we'll look at some photos. and the stairs that go to it. And you can see there in the zero depth entry are the pieces of the features that you'll see some pictures of that they have a lot of that together now. So progress has gone really well here in the last month or so. They've been knocking out a lot of different things. A lot with the interior, well and the exterior too, of the building. And obviously they got everything back built. You can really see everything taking shape now. You know, if anyone from the council wants to come out and walk around with me, I'd be more than happy to take you around. We can go around and, yeah. Here's just another, there's a drone shot there. So you can really see the splash pad here starting to take shape. That's all the underground stuff that's put in. They plan on getting the footings in the base of the wall. There's just another angle there of our drone shots. You can see they started along this west end, pouring the concrete deck here. Where you see these posts, that's where the fence is going to go. The fence is going to go about six or eight inches inside the edge of the concrete, mostly so that we don't have to mow the fence. It was a mowing strip there. But anyway, that's where the fence will run. The same along here on the south side.

Are those shade structures there, Garrett?

Oh, yes. These are shade structures. They're the vases for them, the frames for them. You have a picture in here a little bit that shows some actual shade going on. But yes, that's what those are. There are... Boy, what is there? Seven of those on the outside, plus we've got the slide, and then we've got one large one on that little peninsula area. There's another shot. This is from the southeast side. So here's the little peninsula area that I was just talking about. One thing... I'll show it on the other overhead here in just a minute. Anyway, as I mentioned during the video, you can see right here is a lot of the zero depth structures that are going to go in. Some of those, that's all that fun stuff. Here we have, this is just a direct overhead, and you can kind of see this line right here. So what this is, they're putting in the trench drain right now. And what that is, it'll actually run here, all the way down here, to, I'm not exactly sure how far down this way, but it comes pretty far down. And what that is, is it's to catch the rain water, or mostly if that's what it's for, to catch the rain water so that doesn't go into the pool, mess up our water chemistry, that kind of stuff. And then obviously it'll catch the water off of people when they come out as well. So that water just goes directly to the drain. We never see that. It does not get recirculated. Get a nice picture here of the slide again as well. Let's do a quick little run around the building here. So here's the front of the building. This is our entryway. We're still waiting to get obviously this part finished and then there will be material that goes in the Here's a shot from the admissions room. So admissions desk will be right here, where people will be walking through. Let me just go on to the next picture, sorry. Kind of get ahead of myself. Back here is right behind the admissions area. There will be a three compartment sink here as well that'll serve the concession stand. Back here is the storage room. Here is the concession stand with all the counters added. And I guess I should have said before we got started, please excuse the construction. The pictures aren't exactly pristine right now. But like I said, it is coming together really well. But here's a shot there of all the shelving and counters that will be in the concession stand. This is a picture of the interior of one of the family restrooms. Back here behind this wall, there's an entryway, a doorway over here. That's a shower behind this wall. This is the sinks and baby changing station in one of the main locker rooms. Here are partially installed showers in the locker room. Obviously there will be curtains, they're just not up yet. There are the bathroom stalls and then our bench here on the side. And you can kind of see this is the ceiling in there too. There's cedar boards, it looks really nice in there right now. flashlight. This is just a picture of the pit room, the pump pit. Over here is just an extension of that. All these right here, this is what runs the splash pad. Each one of these goes to a different feature on the spot. there's something on top. It looks like it could be a two story building. It is not a two story building. There is nothing in that upper level. What happened, the reason it's so tall is because of all of this plumbing that needed to be put in. They had to design it where that was the lowest spot. Hence the roof climbs as you go to the south because these are all on the north side. There is not a second story even though it looks like it has windows and all that, it's just louvers over there for air circulation.

For a little bit of perspective, those tanks are my height or a little bit taller than I am.

Yeah, they're pretty tall. This is the filter for the splash pad. If you remember when we were talking about some things, we want the splash pad to be run off of a separate system. That's why we have this so that we're able to shut the pool down and still be able to leave the splash pad on. So it has its own filter. It's got its own heater, all that stuff. Here is the heater for the pool. And as the mayor said, The pictures don't really do it justice, but it's a good size heater. There's our electrical room. Now we're going to hop back outside. This isn't a great picture by any means, but they did start painting the gutters today. So that's what this is. This is kind of a whitish tan is what the interior of the gutters will be. like here in a minute uh this is that trench drain that i was talking about so they've gotten further now because these pictures are actually taken today so this is the trench drain you can see there is more concrete for me this is one of the outdoor i should say outdoor exterior to the pool restrooms so that would serve the splash pad public in general but that's what there's for the splash pad here is on the north side of the splash pad this is getting ready to pour the footings for that wall or bench that i was talking about that'll go about halfway around the splash pad Then we get into some more fun stuff. So this is going to be the main, they call it an elevation. It'll have a slide on it. Here will be a dumping bucket. This is a spinner here that spins water. So they're getting this put together right now. This color that you see down here, that will be the color of the pool floor and then the exterior of the gutters as well. Back here in the back, you can see they're putting up one of the shade structures. So that's what's going on there. A lot going on in this picture actually. There's just another view of it. And then these are water tables that will be added around it as well. And then finally, picture from the bottom of the slide. Can't say much more except I know that it was really exciting watching the slide go up. I know a lot of people saw it from the street and I've been getting calls, everyone thinks that the pool's open now because the slide's up. Anyway, this is a really nice picture. It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. We can't wait until it's done.

I would just say that you gave me a tour before, and you don't realize the piping and the mechanicals and how much goes into it. I was blown away by all the background of it.

It's unbelievable how much stuff actually goes into it.

And just the improvements over the old pool. I mean, it's no duct tape.

All right, I do have a few for you tonight. The first thing that I wanted to talk about was the dedication or the celebration of the new mural in town that we have out on the Parks building, Parks Maintenance building. Special thanks to Kate McGlon who did all the work on this and got the grant for this to happen. So this is from the Iowa Economic Development Authority's Iowans Create Community Mural Program. We're gonna have a dedication next Thursday, July, what is that, the 16th at 11 a.m. at the Parks Building. So if anyone's able and wants to come out and celebrate, Please do. I do know from a lot of you that you've driven by and seen it, or there's pictures out there of it. It turned out really well. So please, if you have the chance, come out and share in that joy. 11 o'clock. 11 o'clock, yes. And there will be a few words from our mayor. Thank you. Then also the artist, Allie, I'm not going to take a shot at her last name, but we just called her Allie. And then also Debbie Durham, the director of Iowa Economic Development Authority will be there as well. So yeah, come on out. Then a few grants that we've received over the last month. The first being from the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa. $2500 towards limestone blocks that we will be putting out at Cedar River Park. Kind of as a barrier from the parking lot to the all inclusive playground. It had been requested at different times to have a fence or something of that nature there. A fence really doesn't work there. So we're looking at adding those limestone blocks kind of as a, again, a barrier from the parking lot. So if I didn't mention that, it's $2,500 that they gave us in that grant. And then another from Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa for $2,000 will be to add some extra power and better power at the south end of Coleman Park. Mostly for Santa's house and things like that. There will be other groups and other gatherings that use it as well, but that's our main focus is the power for Santa's house. And then finally, a $1,000 grant from Poet Bioprocessing from Shell Rock. That's going to be used towards garden beds in Northwest Gardens, Northwest Community Gardens. We've had requests for single beds. Right now it's three beds together is what we do because they're a little smaller than our typical garden beds. We've had a request for single beds just because people don't want to care for them. So we're going to put in some new single raised beds there for people to be able to rent. I think that's all I've got for you tonight. That's all we have tonight, Governor.

I just want to remind everybody that Heritage Days is coming up the weekend of Friday and Saturday, July 17th and 18th. There are opportunities to volunteer or just come out. The band lineup is really good this year. There's plenty of activities for kids as well as teens. Most everything is free except what you buy to eat and drink. But the activities are free. There's going to be a classic car show Friday night. So it should be fun. Hopefully we will have good weather. That's it. Councilperson Kangas?

Yeah, I just think it's really neat the direction the city's going with the manufacturing and the businesses between the Revolution Concrete Mixers and this news with GMT and UEA expanding. It's just from Texas, California, Minnesota, and we got in my car Friday night, and we drove around town, and they just, you know, my in-laws had such positive remarks about that new housing, and, you know, I point out this is happening here, and this is happening there, and it's just really a good time to be in Waverly, so thank you for everybody for what you do to make the town what it is.

Thanks for the, reminding me about that beautiful mural. Sat and visited with the artist as she was doing it. It's just, it's really, it's a really neat thing to have when you're hoping she may just keep going there to the south and get all the rest of the building, but she quit, right? Right where she was supposed to. No, it's fantastic. It adds just a little bit of niceness there at that end of the trail. It'll all be down at the brewery this afternoon or this evening after the meeting. Should able to visit.

There's also a car show at Hy-Vee this coming Sunday, and that supports actually Denver High School, but it will be here in Waverly. I get to do a Mayor's Choice best intro. I know nothing about cars so it'll probably go into prettiest color and we're gonna call that good. I do have to say I grew up watching my dad volunteer in service community so it's kind of cool to be in this position right now. And I'm in charge. You have to listen to me so that makes it even better. But with that, if you are out in the community and you can't find anything good in our community, we have a whole lot of good things going on.
