roll call please clerk Moscow trustee Burbank aye trustee Crowley aye trustee Hilly aye trustee Jett aye trustee Johnson aye trustee Killley aye motion carries that sir is all I have thank you sir trustee Hilly I have nothing tonight sir thank you ma'am trustee Killley thank you sir trustee Crowley
Just one thing tonight, sir. We have submitted the U.S. Department of Transportation Safe Streets and Roads for All grant. It was successfully submitted on Tuesday, and we're looking forward to having a positive outcome with that grant. That's all I have, sir.
Thank you, sir. I want to thank the Village Board personally for their ongoing support of our fire department's mission and commitment to maintaining our staffing levels and allows us to provide the best possible service to our residents. We shared on Facebook that with the help of Deputy Chief John Kacharski and our grant company that we use, The OSFM Small Equipment Grant Award of $24,363.67 was awarded to the Milothian Fire Department for the purchase of a Lucas mechanical CPR chest compression device. This equipment will enable consistent high quality chest compressions, allowing first responders to focus on other critical life saving interventions. So we're really excited to get that in service. I was able to find a buyer in South Carolina for our squad 2717. They're going to be up here this Friday. We're grateful for its years of service to our community and proud that it will be continuing to serve another community in South Carolina. We have successfully... passed the Illinois Department of Public Health ALS Ambulance State License Inspection that happened earlier this week. Special thanks to EMS coordinator, Lieutenant Bulima, and all of our staff for making sure our ambulances were all set to go for the inspection. So I appreciate them for that. And then our B-Alarm smoke detector program, again, it's eligible to residents in Midlothian. Single-family homes, one detector per floor. Just contact Julie at Station 1 during the week, and we'll get you guys scheduled, and we'll come out and install them. And that's all I have, sir.
That's it. Good job, Captain. D.C. D.C., yeah. Great job. Thanks. Keep it up. Everybody helps. And you said that machine is...
We're all really excited to get it. Yes, it's going to really make a difference.
Chief Lane. Yes, sir. Just a reminder that on June 6th from 11 to 1, we'll be hosting our third annual pet safety event at the New Police Department. We're going to be providing food. and supplies to any residents that are in need for their dogs and cats. All the way up until June 5th, we are accepting donations from any of the residents or anybody that would like to donate to the event. And anything that is donated will be redistributed to the residents in need. Anybody that donates will receive a voucher from the Cook County, South Suburban. Thank you, Jesus. to receive an ID tag, microchip, or a vaccination for their pet. So we're excited, and we'll see you out there for the third annual event.
Yes, sir. Just one thing. I'd like to read a little expert from a letter from Republic Services sent to us. We're going to put these in all the... Water bill is also on our website. Effective immediately, plastic bags of any kind, including clear bags, are not permitted inside recycling containers. All recycled materials must be placed loose in the container. And the reason for this is plastic bags create significant operational issues at recycling centers. Bags become tangled in sorting equipment, causing shutdowns, safety concerns, and processing delays. Even clear bags interfere with automated sorting systems and cannot be processed properly. So unfortunately, you can't put any plastic bags now into the recycling.
They can go and recycle a jewel. Just take them out and bring in the jewel.
There you go.
thank you and that's it thank you uh thank you mayor i had nine items on the consent agenda so i'll give a brief explanation um so none of this is new spending this is all for funds that were spent in the past mostly on salt and cold patch and were budgeted and appropriated through the village's normal system The reason that I had to do all this is because IDOT is auditing the MFT accounts and they like to see it in a very particular format and they like to see particular forms filled out associated with each type of spending. So just to clarify that the board did vote on spending those funds at the time that they were spent. This is just to catch us up on paperwork, and I think the reason that I have to go back and do these old ones from before my time is because there was a thought that perhaps IDOP would accept the resolutions of the budgets in the past, and those were sent to them, and they're not accepting them now, so I needed to fill out these new resolutions appropriating old funds, basically. I hope that explains it as best as possible. Anytime you fund MFT funds, there's some amount of paperwork associated with it. Anytime you mention IDOT, we understand. Yeah, that's the bottom line. And that's all I have for my report.
Deputy Clerk Harris. I have nothing to say next time. Commandment of Director Redmond. No, that's not excited. Commandment of Attorney Moore. No report. Thank you, ma'am. All right, let's get to this long report.

Thank you, sir. On behalf of myself and the entire board, everyone that was right off on this list, thank you for everything you do. continue to do for this village of Milwaukee and as great as this town is, you guys keep making it better. So thank you all. Keep up the great work and look forward to another year. Lastly, obviously you noticed that the item I asked to have on the agenda this week regarding our building superintendent got pulled from the agenda. Information came out and we thought it was wise to go in a different direction. So that's exactly what we're doing. We have posted the positions. We're hoping that we'll have some great applicants and we're going to move on this as quick as possible because as we all know, this is a very important position and we need to get it filled as soon as possible. So hopefully soon. So we'll let you know. Anything else? Is that good enough? All right.
I just have one item this evening. I do have a statement from Mrs. Marcia Giggleman, who is the chairperson of our historical museum and the curator that I'd like to read. I was here in the beginning when our old library was turned into the historical society building and I appreciated the fact that I could restore it to its glory. This will be my last year. I will be leaving in June of 2027. I am asking if you love history, come and see us and maybe you could volunteer to help. During the month of June, we will be handing out miniature 250th anniversary flags until our supply runs out. At this time, I would like to thank the mayor and the village board for all of their support in reopening the old historical society, which is now classified as a museum, so we are able to apply for grants. Also, a special thanks to our wonderful public works department, especially Andy and Nick for all of the hard work inside. Also, for the rest of the men and the crew for snow plowing and taking care of all of the maintenance items. So I would like to thank Mrs. Giggleman. She and her crew have done a fantastic job over the last, I think, just about six years in really making the historical museum a beautiful facility and keeping it clean and updated and having inventory done. They've taken a lot of pride in it, and it really shows. So thank you to all the folks on that committee and all the folks who have helped do that. And also my thanks to Public Works, because I know they get a lot of calls from us throughout the year
help with things so thank you all right one last thing uh superintendent swanson can you come up forward you're not in trouble On behalf of Marcia Gilgerman, the Midlothian Historical Museum's curator and chairperson, she wanted me to give this to you, the certificate of appreciation to the Midlothian Public Works for outstanding work performed at the Midlothian Historical Museum and this day, 27th of May, 2026. Thank you. Thanks. All right.
That was a fun night.
Okay. Let's see who's going for the business computer board. I'm looking for a motion to adjourn.
I'll make the motion. I'll second.
All in favor? Aye.
