recording. All right, ladies. Well, let's get off and let us this morning. We will call to we'll do roll call. Did you want member Carol West here? Member Les and Scott present. And chair Cheryl Hills, sorry. Leslie's cook here. All right, we have her horn.

All right, appears there's an empty chair. Are you public comments? Uh, so we will move right into the consent agenda. Number one, approved regular community relations committee community relations committee meeting minutes from March 12th. Um, I will make a motion to approve the minutes. A second.

Do a All in favor? Show hands. No, I don't need to sign any And then we will move right into our reports um from our leaison who is going to be this is from Deborah from working in the meeting last night. Um she had a field trip today with her separated. Um it says the council took up the bulletin boards sent from CRC last fall in our meeting last night. They were narrowly supported. The decision leaning towards trying out a line of triangle for now. Council voted to postpone the item while city motioner Jim Berlin finalizes a product selection and placement. If the bulletin board is installed, it will not be locked or something that staff maintains. It will be open for public general public to use and CRC could post event flyers on it as well. Council selected the larger wooden option of the two offered in the packet. The funds for this project are slated to come out of the theme and parks budget line.

Oh, copy that. I do have a question on what it really means to say that it is not something staff and maintenance. So, in other words, we're not going to go out there every week and pull stuff down that's old. And um you know, like Jim said, somebody goes out there and says, "Hey, here's my wife. We are not going to have any control over what's out there because it's not going to be locked. It's not going to leak. We're not going to patrol it. So, I don't know if they're going to set up very I don't I mean I I'm nosy Rosie. I'll go by there all the time.

Maybe if one week Carol checks it, the next week just got Yeah. Okay. I think that was the point is Jim just like just one more thing. I got something. But if we have an event like when we finish put music in the park at Bay, we just go around there and take it off and ours is kind of finished. Yeah. Okay. And like if y'all want to put the music in the park, we'll be having to print those out for y'all to stick up there. We don't expect y'all to do that for different stuff, stuff. Okay. So, I'm sorry. It's

Gon's looking into um finalizing the product selection in place. So there's no timeline as far as when it will be installed. I think at this point I think the residents will like it. They could put up, you know, garage sale or whatever. I think that instead of it was a little everywhere little sunny. I think it it's also just a good like oh you have like if you don't find something you're not coming all the way to city hall like stop by the casino like check it out. Yeah. So, I like that. And that is a center for the community as far as somewhere we're hosting a lot of events. It's a good exposure to have what's coming next on this course, too. Yep.

Um, all right. So, moving right along to our regular agenda. Um, one, recap music in the park series. Good. We did good right now. Is that good right now? Yeah. Rainaloo. Mangaloo. Um, so I think we said there was maybe about 60 people that came to this. Oh, really? Really? Oh, I like that. You got more. You got Oh, I sprayed it at 60. So, we'll say 60. Yeah. 67 throughout that. Okay. Um, and it drizzled a little. We had the portaotti, which was nice. It was actually being used um

and regulated. Yeah, I was gone trying to come by now for you can't use that. You should have said that. At one point, Kiwi came up to me. He's like, "Smell me, mommy." And I said, "What? What is that?" I don't know what it was. It's not like very It was after he came out of the horrified. Yeah. I was like wearing my uh that was great job.

Yeah, I think everyone were kind of nervous about but man they were such professionals put you brothers but then they just let it roll off their back. The water too. They didn't care. Yeah, it was good. They were fun energy, fun vibe. Yeah. Yeah. um the dinner club. Everybody seemed happy and having food from there and she doesn't seem like she did that. I did not she did not sell out. Um yeah, she started meals.

Yeah. No, she did not sell out. Um, I think she definitely could have done better, but I think if we could have promoted her menu a little sooner, that could have helped her. Um, we didn't she didn't get it to you like two days before. Yeah. Two days before. I don't even know what when it says it's great. I love the business, but when it said the what's what's the name? People weren't sure what what to expect. Mhm. You know what kind of food? Yeah. What kind of food? You know, so but I loved it and I love the fact they bought some little goodies to sell. I bought one of those aprons. Yeah.

Oh, yeah. I told her a whole bunch more. Yeah. I'm sure they're discount. Really, really cute. Yeah. And she hands those Anyway. Yeah. I thought so. Bank didn't sell as many as much. Yeah. Just because it wasn't it wasn't as busy. Yeah. And that was the first night of the Blue Hole Music in the Park Country Honey. So I know there were some people that left. So I think overall it was a good turnout and I think the new addition as far as the polar potty um overall was great. Yeah. Yeah. Say 60 to 70 people we think. I think so. I'd say maybe 50 to 60

50 60. Yeah. What did y'all think about but I mean kids playing fun and running around and stuff but what did y'all think about them loading up their skateboard right in front of Gucci? Yeah mom

it was all of our kids. Yeah. Um there wasn't really anything else for them to be doing like there's no at the triangle. That is one thing that that we need to think about moving forward when it is like family events. Um there's nothing on site at the Triangle for kids to do. So I think it kept them entertained and out of the trees. Exactly. I think it made everybody nervous because they were going down and I think maybe it was your car parked right there too. But yeah, I we didn't care about car just when we were leaving it.

Anyway, I I was more like when I was trying to really look at the B brothers and yeah, a big distract distraction. I don't know. I was thinking about can we put it where they start like about four feet further? How would we even It'd be hard to renovate it. A little barricade as well. And I was just kind of scared. Maybe I just had two or three pounded on the sidewalk closer to the stage. Yeah. I didn't care about him doing it, but it was just they would load up many times right in front of them. Yeah. And I kind I don't know. I didn't know if it was I think we could put some cones out to where it's more of a blocked

Yeah, I think that would be great. She was a little Jaden. That was our little tiny dancer, which was really cute. What about setting up a table with some color notes and some markers? And have we been rid of the face painter? So, we did. So, we did ask I went ahead and just asked was like, "Hey, we've already sent you a check. Is there any way you could come to our May 1st event?" Hey, the face painter for the Easter event. Oh, she was good girl. Yes. She was like, um, so as long as we're all okay with that,

I talk to Jim how we're going to because you're it's community relations. I mean, music in the park budget versus egg hunt budget. So, y'all are still okay with your budget, but that puts your music in the park budget over. So, if he's okay with coding that to the egg hunt anyway, are they coded specifically to events or just to community relations? I thought it was just to community relations,

but it may be something you have to send back to council and say, "Hey, we didn't do this, but we're going to and council may not care and it may not have to go to council." That may be a question for Jim and Demar and not come to the only reason why I the idea came up is because on Friday night when we announced that we canled the egg hunt and ask was like can she come tonight?

Yeah. And so, "Oh, well, I don't know if we could sure. Let me ask." And then she was getting hugged on Friday night and then it just started raining. She's like, "Brand, it's like pouring." Like, "Are you sure you want me to hug?" And I said, "Yeah." Okay. That's something I told Cher the meeting is from now on we don't like we'll cut the check. We'll have the check, but we don't hand out a check until they have showed up and done with their falsity. Yeah. Yeah. Cuz if not, she has to return the check. We don't devoid it, miss it out. That was the first sheet like should I tear this up? And I said well let me let me just ask how much is it? $250. Yeah, definitely need to use it at a fun thing and that would be great.

So that would be something for the kids to have as something um we could do color books and crayons but is that you know how long it keeps but it'll be a 10 minute thing very long but that's all right. Yeah. So, just a thought. What do you think is true? Um, I think it would be okay for some. I think some of them are a little older that Oh, yeah. Definitely. And it was like And I don't know if it was just like a lot of boys. That boys would sit there and color. Yeah. Sex team. They could get sicker and they make it. I mean, just

Yeah. Some kind of activity activity. Yes. It may not be monitored. In other words, if it's a paper, but if it's just color, no. If it's a black paper sack and they color it or put stickers on it, everybody has to sit there with them. Yeah. And then you like these are things we need to think about like something to keep them entertained or something for the kids outside because they're not going to sit there and just like jam out to music. And it is what it is, but what can we offer them this summer? Okay. Somebody go to Blue Hole this sometime this month and see what they do there. They're just running around like they're Yeah, they're swimming. They're

running there. There's like a big on the outside of where the music is playing. There's like a corner field where Where do they play the music at? On the big green grass space on the lawn down by the water. And so like our kids like they took soccer balls and they were just playing soccer, football, like they were just running around. Uh there wasn't anything dedicated to the kids. You went there that night. They weren't at the top. I lost your Well, I think that I I think that the kids do and the son of a So I only know about the kids of course if we pay for face paint is again is where they start writing for the artist.

My doing some fun. The rest of them they this they were making new friends and playing having fun. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was cool that there was dancers this time. What? There was people dancing. I emailed you guys the link. So cute. I sent I some people that nice.

Um All right. So, anything else for recap? me just okay. So, and I just realized I never updated my notes. I'm moving to number two recap of the 2026 community. This is very sad. So, it's such a tough call like with outdoor events and with our weather and like not knowing. Um,

my thoughts on this are maybe instead of at 9:00 a.m. we push it to 11 and that will give us the morning to like assess the day. Um because if we would have called it that morning, it would have been like 8:00 a.m. and we're expecting people that hour like we would have missed a lot of people that if we had to cancel it. So that was the window that we were working with like okay it says lightning now and I don't know what the most trusted weather app is anymore. I don't trust any of them. I'm just going to see it with that. Just going to walk out.

So I don't know if we're all on board with that. We have a date. We haven't set a time for next year, but maybe pushing it to 11. That way, I mean, April is notorious for showers, which we want. We don't want to pray the rain away, but also it when do we make the call, right? So, if there's lightning, like I'm always air on the side of caution and be safe and not take. I do like to make a little later in the morning. Give us some flexibility. Yeah. Like that. Do you know if anybody showed up? No, I actually sat there. Was it a little for like thought like no one was there? Thank goodness. Good.

And then I sat on a picnic bench and then uh I saw one couple of cars kind of drove by slow. They were like and I live on the streets. I didn't really recognize the car, so I wasn't sure. But then one about 10 after mine, one car kind of went by fast and then slow down and backed up and go. So they asked about it and I said they cancelled it. I didn't say something I had baseball. So we end up going to baseball. I thought everything was going to be rain and so we end up having to go to baseball practice and then I was like, "Oh." I go, "Oh, because they go for we sure but I hear this one at so and so referred to one afternoon."

Um, and then I put them around the parking myself and they were gone. someone.

But uh yeah, I like that they make it later. Yeah. Okay. And let me see what we have. I'm not sure when Easter is next year. It may not even fall. The same weekend the park. So we have some new um Oh. Basically, is Easter in March next year? It is March 28th. Oh, really? Yeah. My birthday weekend.

Thank you. Um, so then it would be on the 27th unless we move it from that weekend, but Oh, on your birthday wishing. I think Saturday morning, you'll be done. on here. Hey, make it a birthday like we did for Christ. Yeah, it's a birthday.

Oh, okay. So maybe 11 to 1 instead of 9 to 11. Okay. Um March. Okay. And you know in March it could be snowing. You never know. I know. So I think he's hiding at light is good.

Okay. So let's do this. Okay. Um, and anybody else any other thoughts? We have everything. Um, so we'll have a very small budget request for next year. Um, I am really mad because I blew up all of these eggs. What a little bit like it. separate with a hand pump because I had my air mattress pump that was I was using and then my very very overly helpful son had to help me and then he was like bouncing cuz they're like 16inch inflammable eggs basically.

So instead of balloons what were you going to use them for? To def like put around trees. Yeah. Um, and so I blew them all up on Friday night, 24 of them. And now they're just floating in one corner. I think I'm not here. Well, I tried to deflate them, but I just for eventually, but I was actually I was like, if there's some room in the shed, maybe I'll just put them in a big trash bag and put them in my attic. Yeah. And we just add air into them to why not sleepop or just shrink and make

them upstairs. It's all the same. But okay, but yeah, bring a few at a time. We'll sit here quiet. So, all right, let's move on to other recaps for Easter. We'll just push it. Um make the call that morning. Okay. Um and then moving on to three workshop on the main music series. Leslie needs to play next.

So workshop starting 11:27. Let's read my She says she's gonna watch this, but um So, we need to make contact with Max and get his um Yes. voice so we can get him a check cut. I'm going to do that right now. Okay. Both Jess.

Yeah. A flat table. Mhm. Instead of that, no paint.

Yeah. We do have just from like Arbor Day and previous events like we do from Spectacular, but we have those paint pens if we did want to use those. Y um they're in the shed. Yeah. Okay. Um so we do have those paint pens. We have a ton of white paper paper bags. Paper bags. Okay. I was from We could also print out some questions. Yeah. Just need to know what y'all want and who yall want. And then um it is the weekend before Mother's Day. A Mother's Day card.

Yeah. Stickers and flower stickers. I'd be real

$20 budget. I only have quite a bit of color card stock back here. What? Color card stock. Okay. I can cut them in half and then make smaller guards. Yeah. Yeah. Versus it was previously it's always been in that kind of corner in the grass. Okay. I'm sure where they put it is way easier to load. Yeah. Where that that one parking squad assets and it was just right there to the right of y'all. Yeah. Yeah. Perfect. It's good. Oh, I did have Can I ask a question real quick? Yeah. What about the waters? Did y'all use the waters? The wers? We did. We took it for the end. I have those feet. I can have those water.

So, I have a I have the case of water in my car still. Um, and all the eggs. I have two glasses of Easter stuff. Um, what if we did put a nice chest out there with those waters in there since May? It's going to be a little warmer maybe. Yeah, I think that'd be good. I think Yeah. Did schoolyard sell water? I don't know. I think they're good. I don't want to take the weight off. Yeah, they're bringing my little be anyway. Yeah. Yeah, I think we can bring them. I mean, unless they're used up by then, I think. Yeah, cuz we actually bought those cuz y'all had waters left from something and y'all put those in the fridge.

$2.50. So, I do have a thought and I thought about this because of all the kids. What would the thoughts be of just closing? Not that strip. Oh, that was worse. So, there because they were doing the the the skateboards then that made the little kids like you maybe run beside them. Mhm. And that's some of them would, you know, would grow out there. So,

that's what I'm saying. Like, what if that strip of road was just closed? Well, that's what I'm saying. Yeah. Like that or you like that? I like it. I think it's safe. Yeah. I've noticed that. I think it would give the kids more of a space to from that short like it's really the flattest spot in Wood Creek to do that. But you're going to if people can't pull in there will park around on that side too. That's the only problem is the parking

cuz the first time there it was pretty full parking. people were forced to park on those two sides. And I remember sitting there talking with Jeff because as the first people were arriving, they were all parking across the street, not even at the triangle, like they're parking in the golf course area before they even filled up any of the spots around the triangle. So, I'm wondering like if we we know that if there's somebody that needs a handicap spot, like we have to let them in. So having, you know, the barricades open for them to park there or if anybody else needed to come in that overflow parking, but then if you have lots of kids and people are parked there, too.

Well, they told me if you need the handicap spot and you I know you pulled in. Was there another person that needed the handicap spot or just because they were parked over there? Because I have a handicap. No, I know. No, I know. Why par there? No. I'd say you said that there was another car, but it wasn't because Okay. So, it wasn't Okay. What about a bounce house? What is the most reasonable bounce house we could get? They're like 400 bucks, but

it's that they have Okay. Okay. I think if we were just to be able to close that strip so that the kids had somewhere to be outside of right there because they did really enjoy that. Like even

the first music in the parks like there were kids riding around in circles on their bikes and that was very distracting or to dart out into the road and stop the music like and again I know we didn't close the road because we didn't know what kind of response we would get for these events but just knowing how many kids are there if that is a possibility and it's not too much of destruction to those residents two houses there Perry is there and I don't who is the new owner of that house. But um that would be something we have to take to counsel. Like we'd have to vote on that and then send it to council. I don't have time. We don't have time. I don't I don't know if that has to go before him.

That might be that might be a decision that Jim can make. And what we would just have to do is notify those residents right there. You can find something. Yeah. But you'll be able to get in now as needed or something like that. Okay. It would be nice though. We'll do this. This be nice if you individually since it's two houses, you know, don. That's what I just said. Oh, I'm sorry. It's okay. We just have to Yeah, definitely. So, then we could like even put chalk out like there's other things we could put out, but they just plain chalk. For the egg hunt, we bought a bunch of bubble wands that we didn't use that. Oh, that's a good idea. on the on the table. We could put just like

just like sidewalk chalk for that. I have a ton of chalk. I have a ton of chalk. Soccer balls and stuff too when we get the roads closed off and should be okay for them to put out there. We have plenty of cones. Yeah. They can ride their bikes. Like we can even chalk them off course for the bikes to bring their scooters in. Yeah. Mhm. What are I think your thoughts on it. You like it? Yeah. Okay. Um, anything else we need to workshop on?

Okay, that's to vote on talk about the crafts and stuff. Um, so request that we close that short check from 4:30 to get to 7:30. Okay. Anything else?

Well, does it need to be that request that Carol seconded Carol said cuz I spoke. So now we have to vote. Okay. Now how about the the face painter? Does that Well, you could just talk to Jim. Yes. Can we also talk about what a sign time frame if the weather is bad? The weathers. Yeah. Mhm. So I feel like we need to talk about that. So I would What's the protocol? We have a protocol. Yeah. We need to we don't run established protocol for like contracts as far as like we contract and that's what I felt bad for Laura. I was like, "Don't tear it up." Like I know in my mind I was like, "You didn't even talk about what if we cancel and you just missed out on the day that you could be."

Maybe that's something we do with Deborah here. However, but but really, you know, if May for me for that, I think if the weather is turning like if it is in my mind, I'm like if it's obvious that it's going to be rained out like we make a call 24 hours before. If it's like looking bad but we're not sure if it's sprinkling with each other and they as long as they're not worried about being electrocuted then yeah I say people show up and they don't rain or shine

keep it ring or shine that week of the last email I'll blast you send out say you never be a little ify unless it's lightning yes rain okay yeah all right Yeah. And yeah, I mean people could bring a tent if they wanted like a canopy. Okay. We could set up ours from the cities. Yeah. Okay. Um All right. No, it's a good We need a ring plan. Yeah. Um All right. Anything else before we All right. So, considerations for agenda for next meeting. Um, this weekend is the citywide garage sale. So, if you've not signed up and decide you want to, today the last day to register. $5 and you get a sign. Did you get me? Yes, I scratched you. Oh, you're not doing it. I was going to pay more yesterday and paid and and then just thinking about it and going through my I mean, all I have is just a lot of little little stuff. They're good stuff. But yeah, like one table. Yeah. And I don't want to do it in my brain. I was leaving in a week. So I don't want to. Yeah.

Now I'm I'm still going to go my wheelchair out there and say here, take it. Yeah. Some people come grab that quick. Well, she's been trying to sell them forever. I'm put another one. Yeah. Or do I have to sign up? Are you on? No. Yes. Okay. Ricky so I can come look at my garage. Rick is Are you doing it? No, we have baseball until like 11. That's what Rick does. You do? Well, it's picture day and so we have to be there at 7:50 on Saturday.

Oh, are you fussing your stuff over at Dutch's house? Hi dad. You like that? Let's do our then we'll keep keep chatting. We're done. It's crazy. We got a breath. Um the 15th is the bulk trash pickup. So anything that is not taken at the yard sale, leave it for the 15th. Yes. And does that include um I'm sure Russell has that downline. Thank you. Yes. Almost everything. We also registered. Yes.

Um and then May 1st already less than a month away. Our next music in the parks with Maxwell Pearl School your dogs and baked goodbye game and then lollipop face game. Um and then as a reminder if you know anybody that would like to join an advisory board, three spots on trees, one spots on PNZ, and two spots on CRC. No, but I'm saying it's bothersome to me. The only spots are open on all the committees.

Yes. It's just that as big and as much controversy if it was promoted more and like actual expectations of these roles would be spark more interest because I don't know I know the general like we have these spots available but if you did like a spotlight post for each of

the website is each board and what each board does and so that's all I know. But I don't know what the web traffic is, but I think it it was like a a dedicated post. It's like, hey, the community relation or the trees and parks only has three spots. for here's the link to where all or do a separate one for each

a separate one for each that is a visual of what it is not send somewhere else because people are like okay never mind I'll go look later and it's too long if they're on a social media thing if I just scroll once on a post I'm gone it's too much yeah that's why sometime I send out three or four things a week because I don't want to squish together Um, okay.
