Okay, good evening everyone. You are at the plan commission meeting. It is Tuesday, March 17th, 2026. It is 5:00 PM Wasa City Hall Council Chambers. And first up was the election of the vice chair. We're going to skip that because we're going to redo it again in April for the new uh session. Next item, item two is the public comment on agenda items and reading of the city of Wasau public comment statement. Is there anyone here for public comment tonight? We do have one email public comment submitted by Linda Lawrence on March 12th. I Linda writes, "I support the proposal and recommend the plan commission approve the developer's request. Housing of this capacity will be good for downtown small businesses. Given the developer track record in the community, it will no doubt be excellent and I would personally live at that location without hesitation given price points. Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Any others?" Okay. Up next is item three, consideration of the minutes for February 18th. They were in the packet.

1:26 – 1:400

Motion to approve. Motion from Bugamman, second from Balkan. All in favor of approving the minutes signify by saying I. I.

1:36 – 2:210

Okay, that passes. Item four is up next is the public hearing on the disc uh discussion and approving a conditional use permit for 218 South Fourth Street to authorize and allow construction of a personal storage facility uh use in the light industrial zoning LI district done storage. Is there anyone here for public comment for that item? you can come on up to the podium and give us your name and make your comments. Yeah, you can do it.

2:20 – 3:040

Hi, good evening. Go ahead. Go ahead. Okay. Um, so the downtown Wasa has added or approved over 400 new apartment units in the recent years, including the 153 unit on Foundry on Third development and 102 units in Evergreen Landing project. These developments are bringing hundreds of new residents into the downtown core. However, apartment living typically provides limited storage space and currently there are no convenient storage options in the downtown area. By allowing storage facilities in town, we can support these new residents while keeping their spending and activity within Wasa rather than having to send them to uh other surrounding areas like Croner and stuff to store their stuff.

3:01 – 3:300

Apologies, you forgot to introduce us. This is Jason Dunwy and my name is Melinda Don Woody. Thank you. I mean, we have a lot of other stuff, but I figured that was just kind of an overview of what Okay. Well, appreciate the comments. We will uh we can get back to when we do discuss this after the public hearing. Okay. Anyone else want to comment on that

3:27 – 4:090

item for the uh storage units at 218 South 4th Street. Last call for public uh the public hearing. 218 South 4th Street. All right. We'll close the public hearing. And the next item is item five, discussion and possible action on 5A, which is uh the approving a conditional use permit for 731 North First Street to allow for a 70 unit 7story apartment building for Beacon Resources LLC. And that's a discussion and possible action. I would entertain a motion. Motion to approve.

4:08 – 4:430

Bornman motion Bugamin. Second. I have a lot questions, comments. We have the folks in the room that can answer any questions. Seeing none, those in favor of approving the conditional use permit for 731 North First Street to allow a 70UN 7story apartment building for Beacon Resources signify by saying I. I. Any opposed?

4:39 – 5:240

And that passes. Thank you. 5B is discussion and possible action approving the transportation project plat for project 370-40-40 Grand Avenue signal replacements at Sturgeon and Townline Road. Would entertain a motion. Motion to approve. Bugamin and was that Pulkin? Got it. Bugamin one. Balkcon 2 discussion on that questions. All those in favor of the Sturgeoni Road and Townline Print Transportation Project Plat signify by saying I.

5:24 – 6:050

I. Any opposed? And that passes. We've got a blank discussion here. I assume that's a typo. That's just one of those carryovers. Anyone have any discussion? Seeing none, the um our next meeting is March 11th. Wait a minute. That's a typo. Must be is that April 11th? Uh third Tuesday of the month generally. So the 21st. Okay. Let's April 21st 5:00 pm. All right.

6:02 – 6:440

Yeah. And just it may Did we talk about maybe moving that because of the election and the council me so it may yeah I think it might be to be determined but uh normally it would be the 21st third Tuesday but we'll okay let you know if it does need to be pushed. Okay. Staff is saying right now that the our normal meeting would be April 21st. Uh if we have to move that for the uh the new uh council meeting we will do that. I would entertain a motion to adjurnn. Watson jumps in and balcon. All in favor signify by saying. See you later.

6:49 – 7:030

Bruce, I came back for this. I I never made that motion. Look, Lou likes to get in once in a while. He's not here.
