All right. We'll go ahead and get started with the Board of Public Works meeting for Thursday, June 18th, 2026. We'll start with a roll call. Chad O'Donnell.

All right. With that, seeing nobody for public comment, I will move to election of officers.

Kevin Reilly makes a motion for Chad O'Donnell to be chairperson, Kevin Reilly to be vice chair for the next aldermanic year. Paper rules paper will second that.

This is the approval of minutes from June 4th.

60 others to review and possibly act on contract change or number one with always contractors for the frame Park formal gardens pathway irrigation drainage system improvements project. Pass over to Brandon to your high level review of that and leave Melissa from park forestry is also available if there's any questions.

Thank you, Alex. So there were some additional work items that were completed by the contractor, which is always as part of the formal gardens improvement projects. I'll just kind of high level hits a couple of the items through here and kind of. A little bit of background on on the additional costs. So. 1st, couple of items were related to. The electrical work that was done by internal city staff staff and some additional. Work that the contractor had to complete to repair pathway grading and edging during that electrical work in preparation for the. Flexi pave material that was placed on the pathways, so that is item number one. The second item. Unfortunately, there were. Few damage locations to the newly installed irrigation system during the electrical work that needed to be repaired by the irrigation contractor as part of the contract work, and they did have to come back and and make those repairs, which did lead to additional costs by our contractor. Outside of that, we did have minor additional sidewalk work related to the project. A little bit more sidewalk was replaced as part of the project work while we were out there marking removals and just shaping everything. It made the most sense while the contractor was there to grab a few extra squares of sidewalk, especially one that we found. Unfortunately, some existing electrical conduit in that location was poured right into the sidewalk slab, so when they went to remove it, It ended up damaged some of that electrical and they they needed to repair more sidewalk because of that after that fix was was made by internal city crews There was also additional three-quarter inch clear open graded stone, which is the base material for the flexi pave that was installed that overran the quantity per plan but we did want to make sure that we had enough base material underneath the flexi pave and the Paver border and make sure that that was a solid foundation for years to come. So that quantity did overrun a little bit. So total amount of this. Change order is 17,977 and 52 cents and we'll definitely answer any questions you have or Melissa is here as well.

This is this is Joe. I'll make a motion to approve the change order as presented with the second step. A couple questions.

So I had an opportunity to talk to Melissa and to Alex and Brandon about this. I guess the crux of this for me is that we've been. We've been and when they say we I see the city, but we've been talking about knocking out the electrical work at the frame guard at the formal gardens for a long time and my senses with this project were really close. And the last piece of the project is to, I guess, either install and or upsize the power source for that. Is that correct, Melissa? Okay. And in talking to Melissa, it seems like there is enough money left in this particular project to get that work done this year. And then we can be completely done with electricity at the formal gardens. So those for those of you all of you watching at home, this will give you additional outlets to plug in speakers and boombox boomboxes. Boy, I'm a boomer speakers, microphone, things like that for different events that you're having at the at the formal gardens, which is something that the city's been working on so. And I guess I got some background from staff. I'm good with the change order and that's why I made the motion. Thank you.

Thank you, Melissa. 6 be out to review and act on the developers agreement between the city of Waukesha and the pH Winterberry Reserve LLC for phase 2 of the work property located on Summit Avenue near Fire Station 5 over sports complex, etc. So you've seen these before. Very similar to previous ones. There's any questions Brandon or I'll try to. Otherwise, developers here as well. If there's any additional questions. I'm excited to get this project moving along for sure.

So is this, Alex, is this B and C?

Or is C something different? B is the developer's agreement. C is a stormwater management practice.

I'll make a motion to approve item number 6B, the developer agreement as presented.

Matt, thank you for your investment in the city. We're excited about this project and the small, the smaller lots up there in that little subdivision is going to be great. So thank you for your investment in the city.

6C, this is review and passively act on the stormwater management practice maintenance agreement between the city and Winterberry Reserve. Like I said, the same sub-division, and this is the agreement for stormwater management. So we've seen these before. If there's any questions, we'll try to answer.

Kevin Reilly will make a motion to accept the developer's agreement. Stormwater agreement. Oh, stormwater, yeah, sorry.

I just want to reiterate that Winterberry area is really going to be a beautiful little development. We're really happy to have them added to the city. So I second Alderman Piper's feelings on it.

Seven, no additional report tonight, but we do have several communications here for official notices that close on the June 27th, 26th, I mean, Friday. Greedy Park Irrigation Installation, the re-bid of that, Green Terrace, Playground Resilient Surface Project, the Luke Avenue, Bourne Place, Walton Avenue Street Improvement Project, Reuben Drive Pump Station Replacement Project, and the Waukesha Public Library Revolving Door Project. So we are moving forward. More bids.

Alex, I just had two questions. So I think I remember the whole greedy park thing, but I'm just curious, why was the Greenway Terrace playground re-bid?

came in extremely well over budget. Oh, that's right. The 3D Park, we did not receive a bid, and then the other one, the Greenway Terrace, came in very high.

Did we change the specs on Greenway Terrace to see if we get a different level of bid?

We're reimagining, well, not reimagining the project, but we're looking at how we're bidding it out to try to get a better price and reach out to more contractors and things like that.
