Item number three, consider letter of support for Maximilian's Muddy Puddles Children's Memorial Splash Pad with possible action. I think that, I don't think the actual letter made it into the packet, but we were looking at that, so I think we have one that we would read into the record.

7:00 – 9:00Speaker 7

I'll go ahead and read that. Okay. Okay. Warren County Board of Supervisors is happily to formally express our letter of support for the Children's Memorial Splash Pad in Indianola, an initiative led by Maximilians Muddy Puddles Foundation, a registered 501c3. The Children's Memorial Splash Pad is working with the City of Indianola to create a free and safe place for children of Warren County and surrounding areas to play, all while honoring the legacy of those who have passed through an aesthetic customizable jetted lights spray feature. This project represents not only significance as a memorial, but a long-term broad community impact, strengthening desirability through access to include outdoor recreation that enhances all family circumstances and demographics, regardless of age, ability, or socioeconomic status. This will add a local gathering space via unique and artistic park amenity the community has desired for several years. Additional benefits extend to local economic and tourism stimulus that all align with Warren County and the Indianola Parks and strategic planning initiatives. The foundation has contributions from diverse sources reflecting broad public endorsement and confidence from a shared commitment to bringing this to life through grassroots momentum. Community members, local businesses, and stakeholder organizations have begun to rally behind this vision as evidenced through fundraising efforts, proactive outreach, and widespread social media engagement. We too are happy to support the Eniola Children's Memorial Splash Pad. We strongly encourage funding partners and grantors to consider investing in this impactful and community-backed project as we have chosen to with our $1,000 contribution.

9:49Speaker 6

9:57Speaker 4

9:59 – 10:23Speaker 6

13:03Speaker 4

Item number seven, supervisor's report. Any reporting supervisors this evening?

13:11 – 13:43Speaker 1

I have a report here from the VA's office. Would you like to come up and explain what some of these numbers mean? I can't really make out what they mean. I just know that Warren County is doing very well for the veterans in Warren County in taking care of them, making sure that they can apply for their benefits and receive those benefits if they are needed. Thank you.

13:49 – 15:27Speaker 4

Anyone else? Just to kind of, I guess, in relation to the veterans, I did want to just make a note that we had, unfortunately, we had lost one of our former employees in the recent... combat in Iran, but a former employee of ours, Jeff O'Brien, who's worked in our IT department for several years, was, as many have seen on the news, Major Jeffrey O'Brien. He lost us in a drone attack. Just underlining the point that it kind of hits home a little closer when it's someone, you know, I was assessor when he was here. So it was, you know, kind of hits home a little harder when it's someone they know, obviously. So, you know, thank our veterans. You know, what they do out there is priceless. Anyone else? Okay. Supervised report. Item eight, public input. Comments will be limited to three minutes per individual. The board will not take any action on the comments due to the requirements of the open meetings laws, but may do so in the future. No public input will be allowed for any of today's agenda items. Do we have anyone from the public? Please.

15:27Speaker 5

Yeah, no problem.

15:29Speaker 4

And just state your name and address for the record when you begin there.

15:33 – 18:59Speaker 2

Bill Bosch, 73-23. . . . threatened me with lawsuits and raising my taxes, and they did follow through with many different abuses of power and even fraud. They raised my taxes by 67%, see the 86, 24 million. I never got the 2026 real estate assessment roll in the mail. And when I went to get one, I was told I was too late to go to the vanguard and get the parcel. I called the vanguard representative to do the measurements, and he stated everything was the same as it has been for the last 25 years. So I was shocked to see that they raised my total living area from 959 square feet to 1,051 square feet. It happens to be over the limit of the 1,000 square feet for the Iowa State Law created . It's actually 920 square feet . They also deducted an acre from my forestry exemption and dockered up two . I called Vanguard to get a copy of the parcel report, and they said I needed to get one from the law and assessor office. I got a parcel report from the office staff. I did state the same thing, 1,052 square feet plus the deduction of the acre. This has a session to it. I then sent to Vanguard asking for an email to Vanguard asking for an explanation for this partial port that didn't match up with what the representative said. they would be kind of changing the original parcel report this would be a hundred mile correct parcel report from her office that my PAAB hearing, Janet Duns, actually produced a third version and it had numerous changes. When I pointed out to them, both Janet Duns and PAAB said that they can change the information however they want. This opens up a very clear opportunity for fraud. and abuse of power times three in my case. If you listen to the supervisor's meeting on 4-1-2025, the Warren County citizens were correct about the abuse of power that took place on them, about their taxes being raised unfairly on some, and that gentrification does seem to be taking place. All Warren County citizens who desire should be able to get their original parcel report from Vanguard Direct and make sure this fraud hasn't happened to them. And I think the only way that can get done is if you guys pressure them or at least let them know that they can do it. That's it.

18:59 – 19:21Speaker 4

Thank you. OK, thank you. Any other public input? Seeing none, it looks like next meeting date will be April 7th, 2026, 9 a.m. here in the boardroom.

19:23Speaker 3

I'll make a motion to adjourn.

19:24Speaker 4

Second. Roll call. McIntyre? Aye.

19:28Speaker 6

Erickson? Aye.

19:32Speaker 4

Aye. We are adjourned, thank you.
