Planning Commission - Regular Meeting

Good evening. It's 6:30. I'm going to go ahead and start the planning commission meeting for August 25th, 2025. Um, let's see. See if I There we go. Um, first we are going to have a prayer. Uh, Alex, would you mind doing the prayer with everybody? Please stand. Lord, thank you for this day and letting us get together. Thank you for this new room and all the things we're going to be able to do with it, Lord, and this the finances to do it and live in a great town that gives everybody a word and gives everybody a chance to speak their minds, Lord. We pray that everybody is good tonight and that we can just do exactly what we need to do and glorify you in every step of the way. And we pray these prayers in Jesus name. Amen.

All right. tell us a little bit about Yeah, so this is what I guess I brought it a few months ago and got it approved. We just have the work complete. Uh everything as as detailed. So Okay. 10 1acre lots or a few larger but and it's not going to be a private road. Correct. It it meets all the specs for the city to take it over. So,

One thing I got to say about the UDO is that council passed the first res first reading of the of the U ordinance and so we'll just press on. We had two public hearings. Nobody showed up to speak for or against, but they were available. But, uh, we will continuing on. By the way, y'all look good up here. This This looks nice. Haven't sat in the back until tonight. It is very nice. Yeah. All right. Well, thank you. Anyone else have anything they want to say or add to the meeting? It's very quick meeting tonight. Yes. Yes, ma'am. Yes.

I I would like to bring it up for discussion about the uh planning commission having our meeting the week before the council meetings so they could have it ahead of schedule and still uh Oh. Uh, is that the design of it the way it is, mayor? Right. It's it's designed the action tonight flows to the next council meeting. Gotcha. I mean, which council meeting you want to put it in front of. You know what I'm saying? Well, is maybe some uh contractor stuff have that extra, you know, three weeks or so.

We work around that. If it it becomes a real big issue, we've called special planning commission meetings for to accommodate a reason. We call special city council meetings to accommodate. Okay. So, we do accommodate, but I think this works well, sir. Yes, sir. I thank you. I withdraw what I was saying. Don't withdraw it. I thought it was a good point. I thought it was a good point. All right. Well, let me go ahead and do the announcements then. We have uh September 1st, the city offices will be closed for Labor Day.
