Um with us counselors Hudson Moore Cotwell and Mashock and thank you Patricia Mcright and Brian uh Driscoll for being here with us.
Okay. All right. So pretty start off again with uh what you guys are looking for. you know, um the common council office consists of of um council president at large counselors, district counselors, and we have u legislative aid and um two secretaries and one secretary for the president of the common council. Uh if you notice the one thing that changed here that um we got a we got a new sec we got a secretary a new secretary for the president of the common council. Therefore the temporary services you will see is zero now. And that's pretty much it.
And I think a change to that would be that what was sort of a part-time now it's a full-time. Yeah. We just we just basically eliminate Yeah. We just eliminated temporary services if you notice that and the 30,000 that went there. Okay. And um sorry. Hey, some of the things that was mentioned um that was suggested uh from counselors were that we increase professional services. If you notice that um that that increased Oh, yeah. That increased Thank you. To 200,000. Am I correct?
Okay. And also what we did include, we we included uh chamber upgrades. There's been conversation about some things in the chambers that needed to be upgraded. And so we included additional $30,000 in there for a chamber upgrade. Training. Great. That's good, too. And again, we got more paper for you guys, I think, because of Nater. Thank God for Nater.
Yeah, we love our Nater. Okay. Are there any questions from anybody? Are we all set? The only thing I want to say and I which I kind of like said last year, I want to emphasize training with Nikon with uh with with folks especially uh DPW um zoning and um parks and the financial crew there. Um Nikon offers some amazing uh training and conferences that the council I think that will really benefit from. So,
um the other thing that I um want to uh suggest as I suggest last year is that you upgrade your staff. Um, as far as like, um, you know, you right now you guys have secretaries and a and a um and administrative aid, you know, um, if you look at um, cities and towns around us, you know, they have um, you know, secretaries are administrative aids and and we have um, policy analysis and you know, and I I think that you guys are selling yourself short with um, passing the legislation and then the leg legislation kind of like falling. and no one following up. You know, we had a policy analysis or um or administrative aid signed to NBD or administrative aid sign for finance and such and such or whatever. Um you know, specifically that would um that would help the council more cuz right now um you guys vote on legislation and it just you know it comes back to you the way it comes back to you all, you know. So I really think really really emphasizing this year um to like um start thinking about that if you don't do it this year to really really start thinking about incorporating a policy co policy analysis or communication coord uh coordinator or research council legislative assistant some of those titles there I'll be more than willing to to research and and um and give you guys um what the other um surrounding cities and towns are doing. Um well yeah the description the job descriptions of those. So you guys
so in that respect this the secretary for the president is also a coordinate he's coordinating secretary communication. So that is that's good. Yeah that's good. Uh and most of most of the um most of the um the cities around us they they don't like have a president secretary. they have um like um legislative senior legislative aid that helps the whole council you know and um so that's what I'm you know trying to get you guys to see too.
So thank you. Yeah, thank you for suggesting that and I mean uh in the legislative aid position that we have right now it's you know kind of functioning as our policy analysis and and helps us with finances understanding financials. So so we would really need to take a look into that. need to look at that and look at the fact of what your secretaries um to actually um I think to point your secretaries in directions that you want to that's why I think that they shouldn't be secretaries they should be legislative aids you know assigned to several different departments or whatever so they can keep track of what's going on you know and um you know yeah
and with the increasing training we can certainly get there yeah uh you know it's just it's really. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. Other than that, councelor, I know you got here a little late. I don't know. Do you want to grab any questions with me or whatever? No, I appreciate the materials. Thank you. We are in page uh 5960. Yeah. For Anna. Okay. So, if there's anything else? No. All right. So, then we'll a motion to adjurnn. So move, second. Thank you.
