Good to see you. All right. I'd like to welcome everybody here today. Judge, good to see you. Right now, you don't want here. Thank you. But y'all know this is just a work session. So we're discussing these work sessions what we're going to have on the agenda for next Tuesday.

2:47 – 3:39Speaker 1

So uh first person supposed to be up judges is as our go mayor but he's not here yet. So I'll let you go ahead and go. Well, I'm just I'm just here, Commissioner, to uh and thank you, of course. I'm just here to uh get on the agenda for the meeting Tuesday. Uh I remember that uh Chairman Roy Banks is the one that started these uh work sessions. We didn't you didn't used to have to do this, you know. You just called up and got your name put down and told what you want to talk about and uh you were on the agenda, you know, but Roy Roy started this and uh I don't know. Maybe it's a good thing. I don't know.

3:37 – 4:05Speaker 1

Well, you know, we're on television now, too. So, you live right now. You being live live stream right now. So, really? What station I'm on? You want my paid? Would I get paid for that or? No. We don't even get paid for it. Okay. So, uh, what do you want to know? What I want to talk about? What you want to talk about?

4:03 – 4:39Speaker 1

I want to talk about I've talked about this before, but I want I want to talk about all this body searching that goes on over at the courthouse in Pel City. I think it's pretty totally silly myself, ridiculous. And then I want to talk about the uh John Looney house and I want to know if there might be any updates on on the investigation. You know, that's that's up to the sheriff. You going to have to ask sheriff that.

4:36 – 6:35Speaker 1

Okay. Well, he's he'll be here or his deputy will be here. But the main thing I want to do is uh I'm sure there's no updates on it incidentally, but I'm gonna be proposing the I'm going to be putting up some money for a reward for uh any information that might lead to the uh arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for burning down the John Lenny house. You know, that fire didn't sometimes I think we're supposed to believe that fire just decided to start and burn the house down, you know, but fires don't start like that. Put no oils out there or anything. Somebody set that house fire and I believe uh there's more than one person that knows information that that would help convict somebody and I'm going to be putting up a reward like I say and the reason I'm doing that in front of commission I know the commission is not responsible for it now you know I understand that but I want to I want I want to be put in the newspaper because they might be I'm sure there are other people around in St. Clair County, maybe out of St. Clair County that might be willing to uh uh put up some money as a reward for information for the conviction of whoever responsible for burning that house down. So, that's the reason I want to mention it. And uh far as jurisdiction, uh far as I'm concerned, the county commission has jurisdiction over everything, you know. So So y'all are responsible for everything. And then uh uh uh I've I've

6:32 – 7:17Speaker 1

said this before, but uh I still don't like this tax this this issuance fee. What do you call it? Uh tag fee for law enforcement. All right. Well, it's uh I want to I think it's an unfair tax. The way it was passed was unfair and uh I don't like it and that's what I want to talk about. All right, that's it. Okay. All right. You're talking about you want to talk about that today or No. No. I wonder at Tuesday's meeting you can attend today as well.

7:15 – 7:57Speaker 1

Today is nothing. I understand. Oh, this today counts for not and uh everything. Could I ask a favor? Sure. Would you mind Well, like my friends tell me, well, if I can do it, you know, would you mind meeting before our meeting? Would you mind meeting with Sheriff Murray and Ly Harmon and I think a few of the judges sitting on safety commission and ask what their thoughts on entry to the courthouse? Yes. Well, if you don't mind, would you do that and just at least reach out to them? Well, I I would adhere to whatever they recommend. I I I'll meet with them. Okay. I appreciate it.

7:55 – 8:39Speaker 1

But uh obviously I know what they're they're there it's just like the city of Pale City. I remember you remember the smoke stack over there at the mill. Well, the city council came up with this great idea. They they said, "Well, we'll hire an inspector. We going to hire an inspector. Go out there and inspect it." Now, what now? I knew what they what's the inspector going to say? You know, he he ain't got no choice. He's got to say, "Oh, this thing dangerous. This thing this thing got to come down." So, so, uh, like I say, I I I I'll be glad to meet with any You don't mind?

8:36 – 9:19Speaker 1

Yeah. I Well, no, I don't mind at all. But, uh, and as far as that $2 per t, you may want to speak to the sheriff. Every bit of that was to offset the loss of the pistol permit money. You know, we lost that. And every dime of that money is spent to save and protect the county and people of the county. Dollars. Every dollar we control. I haven't got my speech made out yet. Okay. All right. I understand everything that you're saying. That's the end of my speech. But if you but if you but if you but if you got your mind made up already then then you would you wouldn't be qualified to sit on the jury. There you go. So what else? Commissioner, is that all you got to choose? Judge.

9:17 – 10:00Speaker 1

Yeah. I think it's against the rules to bring up something new when Tuesday comes. So this what you going to have for Tuesday? Yeah. I really appreciate it and we'll see you Tuesday. Tuesday morning at 9:00. Thank you. Go ahead. I I just wanted to ask a question. You had mentioned u me I need to be here. Yes, sir. Has it relates to yours? I just um you had mentioned the possibility of meeting with the DA and uh the sheriff ahead of time. Is that the day of or sometime between now and then? He could reach out to him. Okay. Anytime it's his convenience and just that and get their thoughts on it, right? So we'll have an idea of what they want, right?

9:59 – 10:35Speaker 1

To protect Well, Commissioner Bowers now, when he was here, Uhhuh. he used to always notify other people so they could be here and and try and uh and object to the things that I said, you know, and everything. So uh either way, you can do it either way. Okay. I got nothing. Oh, that's all. Yes, sir. Thank you. All right. Bye, Judge.

10:31 – 11:08Speaker 1

Well, I didn't see everybody that got this harmon. I think that she's she's not going to be able to meet you up. He's here, sir. You up, mayor. Thank you. First off, I'd like to apologize for being a couple minutes late. I got hung up, which is just an excuse. And I'd like to thank y'all for taking the time to listen to me. I think everybody got a package. I was at the last meeting and you guys had a chance to review it.

11:06 – 11:50Speaker 1

Uh, just to know, we have reached out and we have gotten a small grant. So, we're trying to do I need to explain the process. I mean, the the project we looked at you got a grant of 2025,000. That's right. Right. and to put in a generator for for emergency at our building cuz we don't have one and if we have a tornado come through we are in the EMA for our city. So I feel like it's critical that we have some kind of backup support and that's what we're seeking is enough money to to do that. But I thought I thought we gave them a generator. No you didn't. This is 130 if I'm looking at this right. 130 KW generator for a big building obviously.

11:48 – 12:25Speaker 1

Yes. for a bill. It's for a whole complex including the fire department, police department, everything. Everything we talk about a big go. We transfer a generator. I think we did the last time voted to transfer a generator down there to you. I don't think it was near what size this is big. No, there is a generator at at the storm shelter. And I'm saying that to say this, there may be a generator available to you in the very near future. The P City Sheriff's Department uses a massive generator driven off diesel that we may be able to donate to, right? And that will cover your building.

12:23 – 13:01Speaker 1

It would cover the building, but I do know I worked for AT&T for 25 years and had outside plant with diesel generators and there a lot of maintenance and a lot of upkeep. And as you know, when it fails, it fails. Well, that's true. Okay. I just said that we got one coming available pretty soon. I hope. Yeah. And I heard Commissioner Baitman talk bad about it the other day at a meeting. So Sunday, but anyway, you know my situation, my purpose. I don't know if this is the right form to vote on this or how y'all do this. It's my first time to even be here.

12:59 – 13:33Speaker 1

But you're asking, in other words, what you're asking for is your total project's $99,500. You got a $25,000 grant. Does that 25 come off that 99? Yes, sir. Okay. Yes, sir. That leaves you 74,500. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. We only on when you do grants, we only match up to what you putting in up to 200,000. Okay. So, in other words, 74,000 the rest of it, then we only going you putting in 37 250 with we put in 37. I can live I can live with that. I can So, so we'll only match up.

13:32 – 14:16Speaker 1

Okay. I I didn't know how any of this worked. Okay. Y'all know I'm new in this game and I'm trying to learn it. But uh anything you can do to help us, we'll be appreciative and anything you can't help us with, the council will have to step up. But we'll match whatever you you know you will we'll match your if you your grants 25 you get then you get then you're part of the 74,000 be 30 what is it 3 half of it 36 250 yeah something that's fantastic to me half of that then we'll all right and that'll be for the commission commission meeting on the commission we'll have to have it on it on Tuesday but that's what Okay,

14:14Speaker 1

I'll see y'all Tuesday. Thank you very much. Appreciate you. Thank you, Mayor.

14:27 – 14:47Speaker 1

No, she's not going to have to We have to reschedu her. N you up. You're an hour ahead of schedule. I'm going to keep it that way. Let's keep

14:44 – 15:23Speaker 1

all right. Uh update on crews. Uh paving crew been going around several roads doing some leveling, a lot of milling out and stuff. So we've been Pine Mountain, Blunt Mountain over in the uh let's see Kirk Kirkant and Ryan's Lane area. Uh Pokes Chapel been some around Raglin. Now we're on the south end of the county. I think they're doing pipes on Camp Creek Road and Dry Creek today. So, moving around. Good thing, trust me. Yeah.

15:21 – 17:17Speaker 1

Uh base crew, you know, we're still been helping Albone Power several of the sites there on Sy Road. Uh we're narrowing down what we can do. So, probably won't have a whole lot more of those. But they've been doing some addition shoulder clipping also in various places. uh contractors. Uh we have some of our paving contractors. One of them's come in today, started on Cany Road 33. Uh probably going to do Logan Martin down road tomorrow. So that'll have the scrub seal and then Monday, uh we have APS coming in and they're going to be basically paving the micro behind behind that. Uh so they'll do those two roads, but they'll probably be gone for a couple of weeks and then come back basically. All right. Uh one of the things we'll have for uh the meeting Tuesday, oh Clay and I will also be at a conference. So we Blake will be here uh Tuesday for the meeting. But uh we've got an agreement with first step data stream and this is for u basically uh going around and uh doing our roads again for the grading and everything. We're doing some sign stuff too. It's already in the budget but it's basically 52,000 is what we're looking at. Uh then we have uh Clay Met with uh GMC Incorporated uh looking about the ATF 2 project that we were awarded down there on 231 around the Cusa Valley Elementary. uh they've get given us an agreement uh proposed to do the engineering work on

17:15 – 17:57Speaker 1

that getting it ready for the go into the state bid. Uh and this right here we're looking at $268,000. Um that is something that has to be paid with local funds. Uh that's one that uh you know basically we're sharing the local fund cost with between us and Pale City. Uh Brian Minger was there. He had it approved. I don't know that we've actually got an agreement signed by us and them. We might need to be looking at something along those lines. If if we don't, we need to take a look at that.

17:54 – 18:05Speaker 1

Dan, is that 268 our our part or is that the part that we were going to share with Pel City? Part of what we're going to share with Pel City.

18:03 – 19:42Speaker 1

Okay. We had that was the one I think total cost local cost was going to be somewhere around $800 something,000 total. Uh that's what we've looked to spent split with Pel City. Um the next thing I have, we've got an agreement with the uh regional planning out of Birmingham. This is for uh brought it up the other day for the Apple grant that we uh they awarded us for the feasibility study for basically uh relocating the intersection of Sy Road and Argo Margaret Road. Uh the total cost of this looks like it's going to be $74,9207. Uh the county's portion going through this will be $14,9845. So uh basically talked with them today and said as soon as we sign their agreement, but uh they'll go ahead and let it get started. Let's proceed. Uh, they put my name on the there, but I feel like it probably needs to be the chairman's name on that, I guess, for approval. So, I will get that changed. Uh, the next item we've been we had our sign chief position is vacant right now and we've posted that.

19:41 – 20:25Speaker 1

Did he retire? Yes, he retired. That was Rex retired. When did he retire? Uh, end of February. I thought it was effective December. No, no, it was No, it was February. We didn't even know he retired. I didn't either of them were talking the other day, but anyway. Yeah. Anyway, so he wanted to go out quietly. So, mission accomplished. I guess he he matched that he succeeded. that. So, uh, anyways, we we've done interviews, have recommendation for that on Tuesday. Okay.

20:22 – 21:05Speaker 1

Um, next thing I have the we've got a project, you know, Simpson Sandy Road, US 411. Uh, we finally got the documents back, the license or the permit, I guess the way to say it, from core of engineers. Uh, ready to move forward. The water line needs to be relocated and the beavers have backed up water on to all this property. So, u anyways, we have to be very particular. The best way from what they're telling me is just hire somebody if you can get them to go in there and trap the beavers and relocate them. Relocate them. Relocate them.

21:02 – 21:46Speaker 1

Got to tear the beaver dams out of So, uh anyways, I I've talked to a trapper that's willing to do this. um talked to the property owner. He gave him verbal. I told him we'd have to get, you know, some written permission first. But uh uh Mr. Cypes, he's done a few before. You know, he said 3500, $4,000. It's getting into it. Don't know exactly how much. Run up, but now he's going to have to tear out He's going to tear all the beaver dams out too by hand. He has to tear them out by hand cuz we can't put any equipment down. And there's quite some massive dams down there, too. About five of them, too.

21:46 – 22:18Speaker 1

Yeah. So, it's it's pretty good bit of work. So, the price would include the trapping of the beaver and relocation of the beaver and and the relocation of said beavers and destruction of their hut. Hut. Yes. Huts. Huts. He says we have five. Uh, at least probably. At least. You tell him. Don't make sure he don't bring them right down the road. Do not take them to Ricky's house. Do not take them.

22:17 – 22:38Speaker 1

Well, I got the car that runs out behind me and I got the guy calling me behind me cuz we got beavers out there building dams in our pipes out there. So, we have to go out there and tear them dams out and he's going to compensate with them beavers. So, so don't take them to Ricky's. Yeah. Find somewhere else. Yeah.

22:35 – 23:19Speaker 1

There's an adjective for those beavers. Yeah. Okay. Uh we have a bid opening tomorrow morning uh like 9:00 for the creek cleanup there that's being NRCS is giving us a grant to do. So we'll open those and we'll have a recommendation hopefully for you for Tuesday on that. Uh tomorrow afternoon we have a bid opening for the equipment storage building at the road department. Uh we hope to have your recommendation for that by me put in a beat again.

23:19 – 25:00Speaker 1

We had three that showed up to pre- bid meeting. So I hope we have those three. We had more show up the other morning though for sure. There about seven showed up pretty good. The uh the last item I have here uh we have a project cur 411 uh run into several problems just because the material out there is worse than what was being expected. Um the contractor has submitted change orders to ALDOT. Uh several items there basically, but a lot of it is just because of the rip wrap base we're having to put in and some extra rock to take care of the the bad soil. Um, if all of it does not require that, it won't cost the extra amount total, but we're looking probably around 300 350,000 extra on this. Um, it is an ATRIP project, so the state only puts in what they have in the agreements. Uh I I've talked with the uh no u they are willing to participate in this project also and put money in on it but we would still have to pay 20% of whatever the overruns are but that still that's a lot easier than paying the whole thing ourselves. So

24:58 – 25:29Speaker 1

uh just want to let y'all know that's where we're at. We're take all help we can get proceeding forward of that. You like that project over here on on trail and cost an additional additional 300,000 over there because bad soil. I I I will tell you this though one we're looking at with GMC right now. U Clay insisted we have extra borings on that project.

25:26 – 26:07Speaker 1

Thank you Clay. an extra 10 up front save us 500,000 we didn't get enough we end up with bad soul we've had to pay more cost of 300,000 or better on both both these jobs I think too need to go a little deeper they're going like 25 foot deep yeah but uh if you ain't ro by there and look we're right now off the pavement down where they dug down 7 foot deep. I just drove through there about 7 foot deep.

26:05 – 26:37Speaker 1

Every morning I go down and check look see if anybody around every one of them barrels are knocked off in the hole. Somebody run the one they run off in them ho all the barrels knock them off every night. Thank you Dan. All right. Appreciate it. I just sent Ronnie a text asking if he could come on over. Hey, Rody. There she is. She's asking you. Come on. Okay. Surprise. Okay.

26:40Speaker 1

Are you serious?

26:48 – 27:22Speaker 1

It's unbelievable. Okay. So, um I've got the commit uh the report that I provided shows the art the events that we had. Didn't have any issues with any of them. They all went really well. Um upcoming there's our list. We've got barrel race this weekend. We got the dog show next weekend. Um the $10,000 draw down for Asheville and then the Magic City Mustangs car show. Now, the car show it will be interesting different draw down. Yes. Next Saturday. Yes.

27:20 – 28:50Speaker 1

Yep. And they're using our brand new projector screen and our brand new stage. So, you'll get to see how that if you guys go get to see how that looks in action. Um, we tested it out yesterday and played around with the new screen. It's It's really great. Perfect. So, um hopefully that works well for the draw down. I know they had it all up there and all the numbers. It's there's a lot to that, but people need to see. So, the um car show is interesting. They're renting the arena and the event center. So, we'll have to see how that works out. They're bringing the cars into the event center. We talked about how to protect the floors and things like that. So, um that'll be a good good trial for that. So, like I said in our past projects, we installed the screen, we uh installed the new trees from the Good Roots grant. Uh we've received all the supplies we need to start doing the underground service. So now just uh coordinating schedules to actually put that in so that we can get power to the RV sites that we have planned. And then today we had the sewer meeting and just to kind of summarize um we need a utility easement that we is is our first step. So if we're able to proceed and how to proceed from there um we'll need to make sure we have access to the property to install the sewer. But more more information to come on that. Right.

28:48 – 29:28Speaker 1

Kurt's going to handle that part going to be in the negotiated hand that that's all I have. We're just in the swing of all of the events back to back to back. So nothing really outside of just making sure that we're ready for each event. Thank you. Move on down nine. Yeah. 15. Okay. A lot of mine is justformational item. The ribbon cutting ceremony for the high school begins at 10:30 on Friday, April the 10th.

29:24 – 29:56Speaker 1

Children's place lunchon will be October 21st, next Tuesday, 11:30 to 1 at First United Methodist Church in P City. Um, the vocal annual blood drive will be scheduled for 10 to 4 on April the 24th. That would be next Friday. Cal City Courthouse. Not next Friday. Friday. Friday.

29:57 – 30:34Speaker 1

And then if you have not filed your economics state of interest, we'll do that by April the 30th. And then Marennium Waste had um a meeting with some of our staff to let us know that they have a new routing system software. And the system will take pictures um as they going by the drives if the garbage can is out there or not. And it will also might change some of their days of collection, but they will send out notices. And this effect this will be effective May the 4th.

30:31 – 30:54Speaker 1

I've had several this week summary. They miss I've had several calls different roads they missed for over two weeks and I was talking yesterday again about that same road that missing in the past some reason they keep yesterday some guy some road

30:57 – 31:41Speaker 1

he's supposed to be working on getting it fixed straight he said he try to you get it straight out didn't you said in that with Marie W. Do you have anything to add from what I'm saying? The notices for the date if you have a date change, they're going out now. I think some people already received them. They're going to notify the people individually. Yes, they're going to send out little postcards for those to mail, you know, customers mailboxes. And hopefully that software will help mitigate some of these problems. Yeah, cuz they got certain roads they keep missing. The way they explained it, it was really neat. I mean, it's the driver will have a tablet and they can do all these dead roads. Yeah.

31:42 – 32:24Speaker 1

And then, um, I spoke with the sheriff yesterday. His mobile command center was supposed to be delivered in September, but it might be August the 1st. Um, they're going out there in July to inspect the the unit, but he said he'll stay in touch with me so we can draw the money down. And Rody is getting a quote for the Asheville Sheriff's Office flooring to put either tile or carpet back down because right now it's tile. The floor got messed up and so it's going to have to be replaced, but Rod's going to get us a quote and bring it to us at the next work session. Back in the bank.

32:22 – 33:02Speaker 1

Yes, sir. And then John Meyers, his office is in Pel City and he would like to have a wall put up in his Pel City office to separate office and storage. And he got with LRO and Lro said it would cost about $600. So that would be in the budget if y'all were okay with him doing that. He's just trying to clean it up down there. And I mean look there. He said that way he can meet with people and it wouldn't be such a clutter and if he had storage he could clean it up get it organized.

33:02 – 33:47Speaker 1

And then hold on one second. I got an email Janet Smith. She's got some new hires. So that will be on the agenda forformational on Tuesday. She's um going to be hiring four plus drivers. Everybody, and that's all I have. You have any questions? Y'all got any questions? I don't know. Come on. Come on. Oh, we need a break. We ain't working that hard, are we? Since April the 1st,

33:42 – 34:27Speaker 1

it's been wide open. Okay. Uh, only thing I ain't need I mean, we've been pressure washing up one side and down the other. Got all our filters and everything swapped out. Got all our maintenance stuff caught up. Uh, the perk test. He just texts me the information on it. I'm waiting on the email to come through with the drawings and everything cuz the guy had been his wife had been in the hospital. So, it's the reason it took us so long to get them. But he's in the process of emailing them. But I do have them as a text message. It's a go.

34:26 – 34:54Speaker 1

It's a go. That's one for the shooting range. For the shooting range. And also he did say that the health department was going to wave the $200 fee. That's good. Okay. Since it was a county. That's a good bet. So that's what I got. How's Jake?

34:51 – 35:35Speaker 1

Uh in pain. He's They've already had him started doing exercises on it and and He done him a few few few stretches on it and then started bleeding and then I had a big white puffy spot pop up on it. So, u I just talked to him but I didn't think to ask him about the puffy spot cuz he was calling the doctor back to see if he was going to have to go and have that looked at to make sure it wasn't some kind of infection coming up. So, if it goes well, he'd be okay. possible with there, but I heard from that be reconstructed possibly.

35:32 – 36:17Speaker 1

Uh in two to 3 weeks, they're definitely going to have to go back in and do some more another surgery. Uh because it tore his thought it was his tendons that tore up in it, but it wound up it was part of his nerves. So right now he don't have ain't got no feeling in it. Okay. All right. Thank you. All right. That's bad. You got anything for me? Nothing for me. Sounds good. Thank you, Ry. Thank you. What about he's on the way? Did you text the sheriff?

36:15 – 36:48Speaker 1

Come on. Kurt, go ahead. Yeah. Go ahead. All right. Well, um, I got a couple things. One, obviously, uh, y'all don't have a copy of subdivision regulations in your hands yet, and that is that is on me. Um, and tail end of that, but um, not there yet. Um,

36:44 – 37:28Speaker 1

I am, um, I did review the contract for the, um, medical service provider from the jail. went through that yesterday. Um have a few adjustments to make on that. I should be sending those off here this afternoon and but everything looks like it's squared away and they're good to go. Hope to be all squared away and ready to start at the end of the month. So that's good. That's good things. It's all I've got today. That's okay. Sometimes I know you can't find two more on there.

37:30Speaker 1

Miss Evans is back there with her hand.

37:32 – 38:19Speaker 1

I'd like to have a request. I'd like for the county to stripe the roads, especially down the spur. I've been run off the road twice this week because they come down off the 24 on that spur there and they take the left side of the road and um that's my side when I'm coming out and I don't have anywhere to go but a ditch. So there's no yellow line, there's no white lines and see when the own water put their facility in at the point they put the concrete out on the outside onto the county road. So therefore people even when they're coming in, they drop down off of that cement. So it's it's really a dangerous situation. Now

38:18 – 38:59Speaker 1

you know what you're talking about, dude. Yes, sir. You know, and I mean I I'm just going to say these county roads need to be striped, white striped, yellow striped. I mean, at night and when it's raining, they're terrible. I mean, I've been traveling a lot lately at nights and it's pretty dangerous. Tell us what this intersection is again, just 24. It's 24. It's the It's the old county road 20. uh that when the water backed up and it comes into our place there and when people come down off the hill turning in or coming out they're taking more than half the road.

38:59 – 39:30Speaker 1

The way we had it restriped last time is I mean I know it's faded now but uh it did it help out somewhat. We always try to pull them over to the other side some just it's not much of a striping on it. Uh, okay. When it was still good, but that that'd be a good option. I guess what you're asking, was it effective? Used to have it was a gore type deal. But, um,

39:29 – 39:59Speaker 1

just make sure they know that up there where that concrete is that the county road goes over about a foot and a half or two on that concrete cuz, see, they're dropping down off of that concrete. Okay. Onto your side of the road. I wouldn't say anything about it if if I hadn't almost got hit twice this week. And I'm taken to the ditch.

40:01 – 40:44Speaker 1

But I just like that road down there that goes from Old Co City Road to Riverside. That back road, it's just still as black as it can be. It doesn't have any stripes on it either. talking about depot from OO City to Riverside. Not depot. It's from Oo City Road down Pleasant Valley Drive or whatever that's called. It's it's just good black top and no stripes. Okay. That's Pale City there. Well, it No, it's it's the four. It's from the old Cole City road right there where the deep that little store is in the corner. the wise

40:40 – 41:14Speaker 1

about a 350 ft down. You turn left and go to um you go to um actually you come out by that church if you go straight on across the new church industrial drive. No stripes on it. Okay. That's one thing I do think we need to look at in the county is the striping. Yeah. It's It's very hard at night to see um to guess where you're going and especially if it's raining.

41:17 – 42:02Speaker 1

Our road 24, the main road is great. There's nothing wrong with it. They did an excellent job. Try trying to get all of them a little bit better. Whoever did that did a good job. Dan probably did it. And whoever paved the state road 144 did an excellent job from Cole City to Raglin. It's an excellent job too. Dan, what's the cost just for curiosity now for per mile? I swear it's 3500 a mile a stripe mile

42:01 – 42:45Speaker 1

for the So if you got for the stuff she's talking about on can 24. So you got double lines right there. You got 7,000 a mile center line. Center line then you got edge stripes another 7,000. So it's 14,000 a mile can be and then you got pavement markers on that. So that's okay. When we contract out for the company to pave those roads, do they not put a do are they not required to put a stripe on there? We contract with a separate contract resurface that road that I'm talking about on that old Pleasant Valley whatever

42:42 – 43:19Speaker 1

that's that was tail city did that uh I see. Okay. So, uh, that's there's generally a separate contract for paving and striping. Okay. We we'll we'll get in touch with P City Street for you. I mean, it it is I mean, it's a lot of people travel that little road or two. I just go to exercise two two or three times a week. All right. On Friday. Yeah, we'll do that.

43:20 – 43:57Speaker 1

Go. Okay. Item one, discuss rescheduling on the Thursday, May 7th work session due to the ACA conference conference. So the work session is said May the 7th. We normally when we reschedu we normally schedule with the commission meeting. Do y'all want it prior to the commission meeting of May the 12th? 9:00. Okay. Okay. 9:00 work session commission meeting followed. Commission meeting in action. Okay.

43:53 – 44:33Speaker 1

We'll get that posted. Americans with Disabilities Act website compliance for AMA 911 sheriff revenue. And this will be a budget amendment. But did you get with Lo? I haven't gotten him with him about that yet. This is the website change the website. We approve we approved some of them but not all department. There were some other parts of the website like other departments. We need to make sure that they were covered for their

44:30 – 44:55Speaker 1

done last time didn't cover all the department. It it co covered some, but there was a few that we had to make sure that were covered or there might be something else that they need to do and that's what I need to ask Glenn. So, does this need to be Tuesday or not Tuesday? Hopefully Tuesday. It needs to be Tuesday. So, I think we'll have it nailed down by then. You'll be able to talk with him before before that. Okay.

44:53 – 46:51Speaker 1

Okay. Item three is something the ch um chairman's been working on the to add offices or storage to the Pel City Courthouse. He's going to be talking with an architect about that. He might want to give an update on that when he comes in. Item four, discuss the request of Sheriff Billy Murray to approve a contract with clear view at a prrated rate of 7,000 for April 2026 through September 30th of 2026 pending the county attorney's review. Item five, discuss the request of jail administrator Philip Moore to approve the contract with key track in the amount of $3,978 yearly. The key track system stores keys, tracks the checkout of the keys, maintains the audit system, and um control the infrastructure system for the jail. This will require a budget amendment. Item six, discuss the request of Rody Wolf, property manager to surplus and dispose of a broken Dyson vacuum cleaner. Um, item seven, discuss approval of prioritizer technologies LLC to replace or repair the commission office check printer. So, this is our check printer in the office and um, it needs to be repaired or replaced. So Nikki is working with them and the attorney is reviewing the contract. It's not going to be that much of a difference. We just want to make sure all the legal terms are the same as the other. Okay. Discuss adopting a resolution recognizing April 2026 as fair housing month. So this resolution we have to post on our bulletin boards because of the CDBDG grant which is community development block grant. That's just something that we have to do every year since we participate in these grants.

46:49 – 47:33Speaker 1

Okay. Item eight, Department of Economics and Community Affairs requires all Oh, that's just what I just said. And then discuss travel request. You've got a copy of the travel request. And then if y'all have any bullet points about that I talked to the one you asked me to to notify Springs Mr. is it Konger Mort? No Cole Morton Coorgan and he said he would be willing to be reappointed if Yeah. because it shows his expired since March 21. He's still been on board.

47:32Speaker 1

He's been on the Yes. He's been on the board and he's he still wants to be on the board basically.

47:45 – 48:29Speaker 1

Northwest St. Florida. Do we need to contact You want us to contact those? They haven't been expired since 2018. Do you want us to try to contact Northeast and get that cleaned up? Get that cleaned up. The moment we had failed Gary Street won't go back on there. No. Oh, you used one from uh Janet gave us one, I think. Yes, we've done that one.

48:27 – 49:10Speaker 1

We done her. Wonder if she got anybody else want to sit on it. We may ask her. Ask J. See if she got anybody else might want to sit on that board. Okay. You're doing great. While we got a minute, Rody, do you remember us giving a generator away to someone anywhere anytime in the last year? Uh, we gave one away last couple of meetings ago. Yeah. too or that's what I thought. Well, somebody forgot to tell us. That's what I thought. I don't even know how this size or but I'll find out.

49:07 – 49:46Speaker 1

If I remember correctly off top my head, I think it's a 32 kW. That's not near enough to do what this gentleman needs. But I just was wondering, we were talking about it and we couldn't recall. Did y'all carry it down to Argo? who delivered it or who picked it up if you Nobody never said nothing about us coming carrying it down there or them coming or neighbors coming to get it sitting sitting where we it's still sitting at the road department up there on the trailer cuz we give the trailer the trailer the whole nine yards was coming with going with it

49:44 – 50:29Speaker 1

from here to Argo if Argo needs it and I'm sure they anybody can have a use for that it's mobile Well, it's not going to fit the need. No, it ain't going to fit that need for what you want, but I need it to my truck today. Absolutely. I ain't got a huge truck, but I got I mean, that thing would be handy with any number of things. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Well, you can actually use it on that uh actually use it. I don't Y'all got one on that storm shelter? Yes, we did. We got one on the storm shelter. But it' be a good backup or a sight situation where they had to set up their site propane tank.

50:26 – 51:10Speaker 1

Mhm. Propane. Okay. Got a problem with it on trailer. Well, thank you. Somebody had asked us ago about wanting a gentleman. Somebody had asked. Yeah, we did talk about it, but I don't remember that. That wasn't my conversation. Somebody asked for you and we said yes. Oh, somebody that might have been who it was. Oh god. Anyway, anyway, you Thank you. We'll we'll get it get it out of your way. Thanks for the trailer. Ron will be your contact. That's fantastic. System. You're just going to when that comes in, you're going to pass that on to who?

51:07 – 51:22Speaker 1

I'll email it to the administrative email. Yeah. And then then they've got someone to install it. Well, then we got to we go get quotes on it or we Absolutely.

51:26 – 52:02Speaker 1

We need to find somebody. We got two of them on the floor. We need to find somebody. This has never happened. Okay, just give me I asked Glenn to come over. might be a short break. I know we're running ahead of schedule. Well, hey, so only thing we got left is Freddy. Well, it's just it's just on a short break. Yeah. That was great.

58:54Speaker 1

reflectors. I can't wait to see how long. Here we go. Back line.

59:01 – 1:00:13Speaker 1

Yes, sir. We're good to go. So, the first one you'all have there in front of you is the key track maintenance agreement request. Uh Tina said she spoke of it already. It's the last of the agreements that we have to take over from the actual facility. It's our key control system for the jail. It came with it and now it's time for us to take over the maintenance agreement. It ran out in January and that's the the new renewal layer for that. And then the second one y'all have is the sheriff's going to enter to enter enter into agreement uh to purchase food through Summit Food Services. Uh they're we're going to get the food at their cost. They're a large company. Uh they're going to charge us 20% on top of the cost of the food to cover the menus, the dietitionian, and the ordering process. We get to use their software to order the stuff. So, what it does is it gives us an ability to be able to just go in there and put in what we have and our inmate population in their system. Tells us what we need. Uh, they charge us 20% over what the food cost is. And

1:00:12 – 1:00:52Speaker 1

that includes the dietitionian and what else? It includes the dietitian, the the menus, the um recipes, and the ordering software. Okay. To be able to order it, order the food. Uh what we're asking for is the the money that we had set aside for a dietitian to be put into the food bill account to be able to cover that 20% that it's going to cost us basically for the dietitian and the menus. Makes sense.

1:00:51 – 1:01:36Speaker 1

So the agreement's there. Kyle has a copy of it or Kirk has a copy of it. Hey, Phil. When would that if if we execute this? When would that move start with this group with the food service? As soon as it's signed, we we already have some back door stuff done. We're waiting on Kirk to look it over. Let the sheriff know that it's good. It's It's actually an agreement between the sheriff and Summit, not the commission. But it's not I like it. I like it. Sheriff and then so something from the commission is the the 40,000 we had set aside for the dietitian to go towards responsible. So where does that get paid from? From the it was set aside for a contract for a dietitian.

1:01:34 – 1:02:17Speaker 1

No. Where are y'all paying this from? What account? The food bill. Sheriff's food bill. Food. I'll have to get the cuz we'll have to write a check to that account. Yes. To make sure. Excellent. That's all I got. Ready? Yeah. Got the update on leagues. Uh myself and chairman Baitman went up and met with the chairman Luck County and it's going to be like a three-year process like I talked to you about the other day trying to uh get them get the 911 money part from Blunt County. But leadeds has agreed to pay $230,000 for the upfront and for the first year whatever starting October the 1st. So, how many dispatchers you going to hire to start with? Hopefully four.

1:02:16 – 1:03:01Speaker 1

Well, two to start with and two after get those two trained, you know, train two at a time. So, you going to have a total of four at one point in time? Yes. But it'll be over processed. So, the first year is he going how much of the 911 money they going to give us? I think he told them the first year was they they could still use in their budget because they've already budgeted for it and then the 50% the next year and 50% next year. So, three years we have it all. Right now, we're going to actually we're going to be running short $230,000 what we're going to get and we two dispatchers to start with. So, you going when you going to hire other two? It takes 10 months to train those two. So, probably So, you ain't going to hire the next budget, right? Right.

1:03:00 – 1:03:41Speaker 1

So, we just going to budget them in the next budget. And they can't start they wouldn't ever be able to start here to October the 1st. So, if we're going to do it, we got to I think we're going to the 911 board meeting the 16th to talk to the board up there and see if we can get the details worked out of it. So, by the next first part of May, we should know more details. Y Mr. Harvey now the gentleman blunt Mr. Harvey. That's the chairman up there. Now, we got to go to the board. We going to go ahead and get two hired right now. Yes. If we can and next to for other if we give them if we give them money then we hire quicker if they work out

1:03:39 – 1:04:24Speaker 1

money. So so I understand leads is going to pay up front 230,000 they going to start October 1st 230,000 October 1st. Okay. Would it be equal monthly installments or something like that? I think they paid blunt count 230 up front. So I think that's what they do. That's what it did last year. And then and then we start getting eventually the 911 50% the year after 50% the year after like a three-year process. Okay. So it's 230 plus whatever the 91 I think it's 911 minus around 150. So we going to get after the first few we'll get about 50 or 60,000 block. Okay. It's it's a win-win. It's going to put us right at what's going to cost us forward this. Yes.

1:04:23 – 1:05:04Speaker 1

Be about right. Right. So 50% of Blunt County's 911. Yes. First year for the first year. Yes. Second year. But it'll be October before we start. So we're not going to try to transfer them to October one. October one. Yeah. And so that's why we need to hire somebody quick as we can because take 10 months to get somebody trained. But we can make it work. We can make it work. We can make it work. Just two. Just two right now. So, are you requesting two for Tuesday's meeting or after you meet again with two and two? Well, I mean, if we can go ahead cuz I said I'm running behind

1:05:02 – 1:05:45Speaker 1

already because it takes 10 months and we're already behind the 10 months now. So, go ahead and hire Let's put it on Tuesday for two Mary's got the other part for the person that part. Thank you, Freddy. Thank you. We have to have a 911 to do that. Um, they're central dispatch. I think they're sure I don't know. I think they're paid out of operation centers fund which general fund funds and 911 to fund too. Both fund. So I don't know if that makes a difference.

1:05:43 – 1:06:05Speaker 1

We'll look into that. So if it's not on this Tuesday, it'll be on the next Tuesday. Good afternoon. I'm just coming out. Good afternoon. Good to see everybody. Hope you're having a good day. I just have one issue, but I'm prepared to talk about anything you'd like. Um,

1:06:02 – 1:07:24Speaker 1

any topic. Sure. I've got I'm I'm ready to roll. If I could just get you to limit your questions to five minutes each. So, and a lot of this we'll be making certainly a bigger deal out of it. and cuz it's due that but uh Captain Turn intends to retire December 31st and him and as you remember Bill Rich Fowski have been the only two people to supervise communications in the county for the last 30 years. So it's a significant loss and it's a big deal. So, but I do appreciate and we're going to certainly talk about that more in the future. Having been here so long, he has a significant amount of time and effort into that center. So, he like I understand that it is now incumbent on me to find a worthy replacement and I intend to do that. And I need you to consider two options that I'll give to you. But having known pro Tim for so many years, you can't give him anything for you through or he'll start reading it. I'll give it to him in a moment. That's why I took the colors away from him last time so he couldn't color the pages.

1:07:22 – 1:09:22Speaker 1

You with me, Dan? It moves faster around here. All right. So with Captain Turn retiring approximately December 30 first then you have the issue of now with his time and we're still working that out. He would probably be leaving here physically around August 18th and I checked the calendar this morning. We're in April. So, what would help me would be able to uh put somebody in this position and to pay them as captain and to keep him until he finishes as a temporary training coordinator at his current rank and pay. So, there's two ways to do this. Out of simplicity, let me just say it like this. If a lieutenant is elevated to the captain's position and we're able to budget to have a training coordinator for what is effectively less than 6 months now when you add in all the time then really what happens is you have a lieutenant opening. So if you elevate a sergeant now you have a sergeant's opening. You elevate a deputy now you have a deputy's opening. So we're short-handed. So the only way to keep from that happening is two options. Number one, we just simply hire a deputy's position that we can go ahead and and we will have the correct amount of bodies here to fill all the roles and then when he retires, we're back to even. But if you do that, then if you elevate somebody to captain, you're not paying them. So I think if you consider doing them both, you pay somebody as a training coordinator for 6 months, then you're really not you're not into it a lot. So I have these numbers here, but keep in mind there two options. So once y'all can discuss it, I'm certainly okay

1:09:19 – 1:09:51Speaker 1

with whatever whatever works best. Is that clear as mud? Clear as mud. Clear. Any questions for me? What I what I like is go ahead and promote somebody. Yeah. So Freddy spend more Freddy's going to need to spend a lot of time with him because people a lot of people don't understand how much how complicated that system. That's right. How much that goes on over there and somebody that ain't never been over in there and spent much time is going to have to spend a lot of time with Freddy. No,

1:09:48 – 1:10:46Speaker 1

I agree. It's it's extremely you got to realize that first off I would say we probably get uh an enormous amount of uh request for information from different entities and that's the first line of that he has to research uh what happened send it to our our person handling that and then they decide through legal counsel is this something and it's constant. Then he has to make sure not only that we're dispatching for 28 fire departments, 11 police departments, and the sheriff's office, and he has to make sure the systems working. So it, you're right, it the sooner we can train somebody, the better. It's just not an issue that we've had to deal with because um he's been there so long, Freddy, and you've done a great job, and we'll talk more about that, but I he's offered to train somebody. So when when when do you think you have somebody in place?

1:10:44 – 1:11:31Speaker 1

I can make that decision as soon as y'all approve the position. So basically we'll have two captains for till December 31st in that role. One is a training coordinator and the other one doing his job and uh and Freddy will be there. And look, he's offered to uh help us in the future and we'll come up with some way for him to do that. Uh because it is, as you said, Ricky, we've went you and I started with analog radios and now we're on digital radios and I don't know what's coming next. Uh but Freddy was the vital link to make all that work and I certainly appreciate him. I mean, you're you're talking about the man that had to head up the $8 million refurbishment of the radio system. So, it's a big deal.

1:11:29 – 1:11:45Speaker 1

I started out when I had a beeper. They sent me a be I sent me a telephone number on the beeper. I think on the pay phone and call called central dispatch on from the pay phone. I remember that.

1:11:42 – 1:12:59Speaker 1

So you'd be ready to go whenever we if y'all approved it Tuesday and um and then we we had to because it's like a chair that's got four legs. You kick one of those legs, it's going to wobble. So what my concern is is because we are still, you know, like Freddy said, he's he's correct. It takes a long time to hire somebody and train them. We have someone ready to go to the academy now. So, we're already short-handed on patrol. So, I I don't want to just pull somebody out and not be able to replace them. So, that deputy role of having somebody stepping in for that 6 months is crucial, but I could make that decision. Uh if you hire Tuesday, I can make it by Friday of next week and they can start as soon as Freddy can come up and he's already working on this is a plan. Week one, this is what I'm going over. week two, this is what I'm going over. And then we'll know at the end of it that we've got a a good quality individual that's well trained. And I think those are good ideas. I could because it's important as far as I can see that we do not have a lapse of any kind or character over there because it's just vital to what all of you do.

1:12:57 – 1:13:28Speaker 1

You're right. and and we've certainly become accustomed to it running smoothly. We we cname that Operation Dant, you know, the the changeover and the training and all that. So, Dan, well deserved in that regard. I'm sure he appreciates that. Yes, very much. You'll have four months hands-on training in 4 months till December. That's actually the best scenario. He can be on his own four months. go ahead and yeah.

1:13:26 – 1:14:57Speaker 1

So, just to walk you through it, you know, obviously anything is going to take a lot of consideration. I've already been working and Freddy's going to help with that. Matt's here. Matt's going to help me with that. But, uh, you know, just explaining it in a simple way. If you take a deputy and train him for this, you're short a deputy on the road, which is very crucial right now. If you move a lieutenant up, you're short a lieutenant. you move us, you know, it just goes all the way down. So, you're going to be short one body for six months. So, please consider that. That's all I had, but I want to thank you for this. And uh again, I would say that we got a lot of good things going on over there. It's even more critical now with what Freddy just presented to y'all. This issue with leads uh is the beginning of a process of a regional issue down the road because of our partnership from the sheriff's office with y'all. We have built a quality dispatch center and a lot of people are going to want to be a part of that. And just know in mind that that uh that work in the past is going to make us successful in the future because not only does it work, but it works well. our information is almost instantaneous when an issue happens whether that's at midnight or or 10:00 in the morning and he's certainly been a large part of that. Any other questions or suggestions? Hey, chairman.

1:14:56 – 1:15:37Speaker 1

Yes, sir. You feel like um you're going to have a pretty good pool of applicants or I do. We we have a couple people that have a significant background in you know Joey not only supervision but supervision in a lot of employees. Freddy has uh 33 female employees which is like having 310 but he does a good job. I'm just kidding. But uh you know we do have people that's got a significant amount of experience and even experience in in communication. So certainly not as much as he does. I'm good with it. Let's put it on Tuesday.

1:15:36 – 1:16:20Speaker 1

Okay. Well, I got you a packet. Chairman, good to see you. And it was good to see you earlier. And let me just say, uh, very impressive. You did a very good job. Well, thank you as always. Had a good sheriff out there in the audience. I felt like you had a pretty decent sheriff. Tuser Ricky one of those bullets. He's already said yes, so I guess I can hold him. But if that's all that's all I've got, Kirk, thank you for, you know, always responding to all of our many requests. So, thank you for that. Thank you. I do appreciate that's all I had. Short and sweet.

1:16:17 – 1:16:52Speaker 1

Just keep in mind these figures are not accurate because the figures are simply 12 months. You're only talking about half of that. So, look at that. That's mine. Mine's I a little bit more work cuz mine's got some designs on them. I will dispatch. I will bet somebody else. Yes. So, let me if you don't mind, chairman, if you permit me. I I have uh I'd like to go on the record and say something if I can.

1:16:52 – 1:18:29Speaker 1

First off, uh thank you for your long partnership with us. The security in our courouses is good and it is adequate and it is improved tremendously over when I started in ' 92. And we keep in mind that with that we always want to respect the business of our citizens and the ability of them to go through it not only quickly but to me in my world safely. You average 800 to 1,400 people a day that come through the Pel City courthouse. And occasionally with uh felony court going on with high-risisk felonies with divorce court, you have emotional situations and with the simple amount of resources including money that goes through that courthouse, I think it would behoove us to keep going as we are. You have a very good security committee commiss, you know, of all of our judges, myself, the DA, the commission has an appointment on that and anybody that has any questions about that, maybe forward them to that committee. We'd love to talk to them and but it starts with the foresight. And chairman, you will remember when I first brought you a proposal when I was a captain. That's how long ago it was. and you immediately said, "We want convenient courouses, but we want safe courouses." And because of y'all, we've been able to accomplish that. So, I want to thank that's it. It wasn't too painful.

1:18:27 – 1:19:08Speaker 1

Judge White, you spoke earlier. All he done was just come to show confirm that he wanted his three things on the agenda. He said he will not. He's waiting Tuesday to speak on all these. And he's also talking about putting up a reward. Okay. The Looney House. that is an investigation uh that is being handled by the state fire marshall office. We've certainly been in contact with them. So we would certainly welcome any monetary reward to assist in that. That's a historical facility that is important to a lot of people. So we'd gladly assist him in that. He'll be on the agenda of them topics. That's all I have.

1:19:06 – 1:19:21Speaker 1

Great share. certain mention since that subject it the Looney House subject is up uh not related to finding out who burned it down necessarily but who about rebuilding it. Sure.

1:19:17 – 1:20:47Speaker 1

Uh we county commission has uh openly stated their support to put money into that. We know we cannot put money into the uh uh historical society for instance. That's a totally different organization than the Slair County Historical Commission of which we appoint members to. Uh the ones that I've talked to that are affiliated with with wanting to try to do something about bringing back the leaning house, I think they know the commission's ready to spend more money on as we get to that point. We we haven't been to that point. Had been requested any more money have been requested to us. It's a complicated thing to to capture and restore. Uh, I would like to say that the historical commission has been very involved in finally, it's taken years, but finally figuring out a way to save the rock school in Springville. I was so afraid before that was saved and torn down, they wouldn't be would find out a plan for it. Well, the plan now by combining that into classrooms, that building will be what it used to be. It's it's going to have classrooms in it and and it'll be for the Canoe Creek Nature Preserve, I think. Is that what it was, Bob? Now, I think that's what they're having in there. So, that's great. a use for it. Just really plug that one in. So, it's not a matter of money. It's a matter of of literally can we make this happen. So, the county commission is ready to put some more money in the living house whenever that investigation is over and the people that are affiliated with it directly uh want us to move on with that. So, I thank y'all for y'all. Yes, sir.

1:20:45 – 1:21:20Speaker 1

Y'all done in investigation already? Well, there's certainly a lot of historical areas in the county and I know we all support them in any way we can. But thank y'all for your time and I'm available if you if you need me. I will tell you this as far as our calls and Freddy back me up on this. Certainly the calls in the county would be the first. Uh Pel City would be a high volume and then it's Ricky right under that. So he's ahead of Moody uh with his number of needs, but we're happy to help him. Thank y'all and have a good day. Thank you, sir.

1:21:18 – 1:22:14Speaker 1

Did the commission get to discuss that? Uh the I went up and met with the chair in Blunt County and he's he's he's explained to us some history that I didn't know and uh it is a fairly complicated issue but I believe we may have she may have just assumed she was going to make did she send her proposal to us or we package it. we can look at it but that is she's not here and uh that has to do with we at one time we're putting ads there trying to move forward with what we're doing in the county and I think this proposal is to move forward sort of the proposal she had to hers would be from May to September and her request is from May September put a couple

1:22:12 – 1:22:53Speaker 1

letters in got you okay we have a we have a a presence on the radio. We need a print presence. That's kind of what I I support it. I don't know what it cost, but I support concept $6,000 from for the magazine from May to the rest of the year. That's both magazines. Radio. Is it kind of like the radio station is kind of like open mic. If you got something you want on there, Adam told us he will accommodate you. It's 2-hour program in the morning. Uh and he he already he already gets our little thing at the bottom stream at the bottom to our secondary county commission. We got several things we want to talk about,

1:22:51 – 1:23:13Speaker 1

right? And Ashley was on here the other day, wasn't she? She was on here recently about and yeah. So the same thing sort of thing that that that she has. And then I'd like to see is there some way we can but it would have cost more. We could help the newspaper.

1:23:11 – 1:23:51Speaker 1

I mean the newspaper is going to print everything they can in articles. We may have to we got to actually pay ads in the newspaper. What little it's it's distributed in a small amount compared to what it used to be. We're hoping the newspaper here hangs on. Somebody told me the other day was what there wasn't what 47 weekly or I think there's only 47 weekly or monthly newspapers in Alabama heard or is it that yes we call it Kimberly Clark Kimberly Clark shutting down

1:23:49 – 1:24:28Speaker 1

yeah and and we've even had a hard time getting word out that one of the German I don't want to say the name. One of the companies in Pel City, a German company, the German economy just sort of crash landed in the last few years. And one of the companies that we solicited out there uh uh they're they're really downsizing and who knows what happened there, but we need we need a place to put that kind of thing out there. And then there's a place in Moody that the building is going to be emptied, but the good news is they're already being backfilled. There's a company already got a pending contract with that building moving there.

1:24:29Speaker 1

There's a big electric speed on the sewer line.

1:24:40 – 1:25:05Speaker 1

We could get away with 10 foot east cuz there's already a water line there. Yes. Across Blair's property. No, not across his property. on the rightway. ADM makes us space at a minimum of 5 foot sewer line. We're going to propose that if he'll let us have the rightway, we'll take his down and put it back up.

1:25:03 – 1:25:47Speaker 1

Yeah, that makes sense. So anyway, that's where y'all doing a lot quicker difference maybe the increase on the 16 PVC that guy said could go up as high as 30% over the last month or two actually because of this pump everything. Uh, how about if I just if Carol's there Tuesday, I'll put it in my report to talk about it. Do it cuz if we're not ready to do it, we can always table. I know she's presented for May, but we make it up. If we're not ready, we can look at it for June. But she's supposed to be coming, but we're ahead of time. I got you. Call her.

1:25:46 – 1:26:28Speaker 1

Call her and tell her don't waste your time on coming. Just come Tuesday and be on her. You got to waste time make up over here to her, but I think I got her contact. Oh, Carol. Uh, 0281. I think they did that anyway. video. Just call she fix.

1:26:26Speaker 1

I'm sure she ain't left city cuz she ain't supposed to be here last.

1:26:34 – 1:27:23Speaker 1

Hey, M. Carol, I was going to let you know unless you're sitting out here in the parking lot, we are way ahead because I wasn't here to talk so much and and you don't have to come. They've already voted to put you on the agenda on this on Tuesday's commission meeting. Well, you don't have to be here unless you just The work session of course is to discuss with us your project and then see if we can get it on the agenda Tuesday. Well, they read your project and they're going to put it on the agenda Tuesday. Don't know that. You'll have to be there. The mayor of Argo is here and he asked for almost the same amount of money. So, we got to we got to decide you and me. No, that's not true.

1:27:20 – 1:27:59Speaker 1

But, uh but yeah, we're about uh we finished up wrapped up what they've got on the agenda here, but you on the agenda for Tuesday and we'll we'll see about moving through. That gives you time to to lobby the commissioners. Are you sitting out in the parking lot? Okay. Okay. Good. We caught you before you left. What we're saying is you don't have you don't need to drive all the way and tell us the same thing we already read. Yeah. Okay. Well, that's fine. Just it'll be there. We will discuss it as a as an action item.

1:27:57 – 1:28:38Speaker 1

That work. Okay. Uh Commissioner Parker is going to cure the water. Going to discuss it out. That makes it easy for us. All right. We'll catch up with you later. Thank you. the real car. Okay. She had left fields 30 37 250. Okay. That's what we're putting in. Right. And y'all vote on it Tuesday. Vote on it Tuesday. Thank you very much. Yes. So, did we talk to you? Did you ever talk to him about the generator? Yeah. He didn't know that Grant or the other generator?

1:28:37 – 1:29:22Speaker 1

He didn't know nothing about the other generator. Oh, I'm sorry. Another I'll pick it up this afternoon since it's got a trailer. That little one on that trailer won't run. We concluded cuz we're we're still live when we concluded. Are you in charge of turning it on? I am. I'm ready to turn it off. You got anything else? How much would you say our part would be for that grant? 37250. Recheck my numbers. That's cheaper than that other to his His total is 745. So they'd be putting in 37250. We put in 372.

1:29:20 – 1:29:44Speaker 1

I thought I was lying about it. Look, he said, "Didn't we give you a checker?" I said, "No." Uhoh. He said he was going to take it home with him. Somebody finally fed up. He had it. Didn't know what to do with a total of 99,000. Okay, count down. 5 4 3 2 1. We all work.
