Welcome to the General Government Subcommittee of the Springfield City Council. It is now 12 o'clock. The only item that we have on the agenda is the appointment of Angela Rivera to the Springfield Redevelopment Authority Board. I believe you are filling in for Armando Feliciano. I am joined by... Let me just pull it up really quickly. I know I saw Councilor Edwards, and I'm joined by Jerry Martin, who is a member of this subcommittee meeting. Azula, welcome. Super excited for you. If you want to just tell us a little bit about yourself and let us know why you want to be on the SRA board. And I'll turn it over to my colleagues to see if they have any questions.

1:06 – 1:580

Yes, sir. So my name is Angela Rivera, and I am the founder and CEO of CCR Freight Logistics, which is a freight brokerage that was founded in 2020. I also have a nonprofit called Trade Corps, where I help people get into trades and trucking. I am, I believe... That redevelopment is not only about building, it's about creating pathways for residents to participate in long-term economic growth, workforce access, entrepreneurship, housing stability, and community transformation. I am committed to Springfield and I also am very eager to learn and be on boards where I can learn and develop my growth in Springfield.

2:03 – 2:522

Well, thank you so much. Super excited to see that you were going to be appointed to this particular position or were nominated by the mayor. For my colleagues, we did receive a favorable letter of appointment from Mayor Sarno. Certainly appreciate the work and commitment to the city of Springfield on your behalf. Certainly sounds like the business is thriving and super excited for you. Thank you. It'll be a super addition to the Springfield League of Government Affairs. Any questions or comments from my colleagues? Hold on. Sorry. If I can see any hands up. Okay. I don't see any questions or comments from my colleagues.

2:52 – 3:101

I'll make a quick comment. Get into my little lunch area here. I just want to say Ms. Rivera is an excellent person and businesswoman. I've gotten to know her well over the past couple of years. I'm excited to support her in this new venture in her life, and she's going to do a great job. So I'm happy to support her.

3:11 – 4:192

You're very welcome. Okay, seeing no further questions or comments from my colleagues, Councilor Martin, if we could make a motion to approve, to send this item to the General Counsel with a favorable approval from the General Government Committee, I'd be greatly appreciated, sir. Yes, so moved. Motion made. I will second that as a member of this committee. All in favor, say aye. Aye. Aye. All opposed, say nay. Looks like the ayes have it. Aislinn, thank you so much for your time. Thank you. We appreciate your investment in the city. Councilor Edwards, thank you for joining us. Councilor Martin, can we have a motion to adjourn, sir? Motion to adjourn. Motion to adjourn. I will second that. All in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. The ayes have it. You all have a wonderful day. Thank you. Congrats, Angela. We look forward to seeing you at our next city council meeting.
