those proposed changes to the citywide fee schedule. We have several departments with minor changes to the fee schedule. During the 60-day review period, no comments were received from the public. Tonight, pursuant to ARS statute section 9-499.15, a legal notice of public hearing regarding the city's intention to modify or increase municipal fees has been published. in the city's official web page with a public hearing date schedule for tonight, June 2nd 2026 at 7pm. So tonight if Council wishes we can go by one by one by one on all the changes that are being proposed or if you desire, we can go to specific questions. The departments are here and they should be able to answer those questions.

Can open it for specific questions. First, I'm going to open it to anybody from the public being that this is a public hearing that has any questions. There's none. I'm going to open it to council, see if they have any questions or comments.

I WAS GOING DOWN THE LIST AND I JUST CAN'T REMEMBER THE POSITION RIGHT NOW BUT IT SAID IT WAS $15 AN HOUR FOR THE SUPERVISOR FOR THE COMMUNITY CENTER. MINIMUM WAGE IS HIGHER THAN $15 SO IS THE CITY OFFSETTING THE DIFFERENCE OR ARE WE CHARGING THE MINIMUM WAGE THAT WE'RE SUPPOSED TO?

Mayor, Vice Mayor and Council Members, if I recall correctly, Parks and Rec is not proposing any changes so that those fees that you are talking about are regarding there from last year or the current fees. But if you can answer that question, James.

Good evening, Mayor and Council, James Jones, Parks and Rec Director. We chose not to raise the fees because it's been five years every year they've raised. So we're giving them a break to settle this year. Our goal, the direction from last year was let's get up to 80%. That will cover the 80% coverage that was the direction from Council last year.

Right, but we still have to pay that supervisor. So we're gonna pay them the minimum wage so the city will offset the difference.

Yes, but it keeps us above that 80% threshold that you guys asked me to get to. Councilwoman, if I may.

Yes, we are gonna, the staff will be getting paid the minimum wage, but the fee that we'll charge will be the 15. So yes, the city will incur a cost to that.

But just for clarification, Ryan, the cost that we would be incurring would be like a couple of cents per hour, right?

It'd be with minimum wage, I think it's 50 cents, so yeah.

15.15 is the minimum wage.

Mayor, Vice Mayor, Territory Hill Human Resources, our minimum wage right now for this year is 15.15.

So 15 cents?

So the difference will be 15 cents on a per hour basis.

We're gonna move on to new business discussion and possible action to approve resolution number 2020, 2026-004 resolution of the mayor and council, the city of Somerton, amending fee schedules to city services provided by city clerk, community development, fire, police, and public works, municipal courts. Establish an effective day, July 1st, 2026.

Mayor, vice mayor, and council, Carmen Juarez, deputy city manager, this is the action item related to the public hearing that we just concluded. If there are any further questions, I would like to ask a motion to approve the resolution number 2026-004. Any questions?
