from council? Yep. Councilmember Lowe?
Yeah. I appreciate the opportunity for us to do this every year. I try to go out to it every year. I appreciate our workers memorial that we hear have here on campus. And, you know, it is somber because it is recognizing those that we've lost over the last year all across the state, but it's definitely needed, and we definitely need to remember those who've worked hard for us here in Stomach County and Washington State and appreciate the families who have lost their loved ones during this time. Thank you.
You. Councilmember Nearing?
Yeah. Thanks, Chair Dunn. Glad that we get to recognize Workers Memorial Day again this year and just wanted to be sure to extend an invitation for those who are interested to attend the Workers Memorial. That's this evening at 5PM in the Mission Building Courtyard.
Thank you. Any other comments? I did have a comment. We asked representatives from the Snohomish Island Labor Council to attend. They weren't able to attend, but I'll just read a quick statement from them.
So each day, more than three eighty workers are killed and more than eight thousand six hundred suffer injury and illness because of dangerous working conditions that are preventable. Unions and allies, like our county council, have fought hard to ensure that every worker has the right to a safe job. Together, as we observe Workers' Memorial Day, Day, we hold the line in the halls of government and on the shop floor to protect our fundamental right to a safe job. Snohomish County depends on safe workplaces and workers who can return home to their families at the end of each shift. And with that, I'll see if there's a we'll move to a motion.
I move approval of Resolution 20 six-fifteen. Second.
