Um at this point um with the fact that the office of education's report uh from their expert was only made available Friday as well as notification they would have legal counsel in attendance. Uh there's not been ample time for our legal counsel to review the report and make arrangements to be here this evening. Uh additionally our uh expert witness Gene Weisenand uh had to have a medical surgery procedure done Monday and is unable to be here for his recovery. And as we understand that after this evening, the commission will be down short one member. At this point, we would like to um request an open-ended continuence to allow our legal council time to re uh review and respond to the experts uh report and then for us to wait until the commission has a full five members before we bring it back up. Thank you.

Thank you, Chair Director Jennifer Jolly. Um, I would just like to thank Commissioner Tui for his time and energy on the commission. It's been a pleasure getting to know you and you've really brought a different perspective to the commission which we all really appreciated. So, you will be missed. Uh my understanding is that Supervisor Gardea is looking right now actively trying to locate somebody who was uh willing to be on the commission that will need board approval before they can serve. So we anticipate hopefully in the next month or so. Um but we do have an item for next meeting. Those applicants are aware that there will only be four commissioners and they would still like to go forward. So we are intending to still have that meeting. And other than that, I don't have a lot to report. It's has not been a very active 2026 so far. So, I feel like I haven't seen you guys in a long time. If you um anytime you guys need anything, I know you you reach out to Karen or myself. So, please continue to do so as we try to put our commission back together. Thank you.

9:29 – 10:070

Could I could I suggest that we to sort of take a straw poll here to see who's going to be here on the 19th even though because we're down one. Is everybody else available? Well, I'm waiting for uh a date for surgery, but I doubt that they're going to call me this week and tell me, you know, uh hopefully they'll give me more than two or three weeks to get ready. Okay. Are you available on the 19th? Yeah. Okay. I'll be here. It's district five, so I'll be here.

10:03 – 11:370

Even though we may disagree on things, it was a nice to have um an agreeable disagreement if if that makes sense. Um and it's taught me a lot about how to conduct myself on on these commissions, you know, quasi political. Um I've learned a lot. And Don, you're awesome. No, you are um you're a role model for if I wanted to be on a com uh in any commission or even step into the chair position, which is, you know, it's a tough position and you've conducted yourself very well. Um so I appreciate it and I appreciate staff for um being very cooperative. I know at first I was asking a lot of questions. I just wanted to understand and your staff has been very well, very welcoming and I appreciate it. So, thank you very much you guys and keep up the good work for San King County. I'm moving to San Diego County. So, I know that's a tough one.

11:35 – 12:160

Um, I'll try to send you guys pictures of the uh sunsets every night that I'll be staring at the ocean with hundreds of other people. Yeah. Well, thank you. Thank you. You're not going to invite us to come down and visit. You can come. Okay. I just wanted to make sure that it's an open invitation. Well, yeah, there is. We'll be renting for a while. Um, you know, in San Diego, you don't live big, but you live outside. There you go. So, I don't know how big our place is going to be when we rent, but you guys are welcome. Well, I I know I speak for everybody. You've been an asset to this commission. Appreciate it. And we are going to miss you.

just on the we're meeting on the 19th and I see there's possibility of April 16th. Is that true? Yes, we do have one. It it looks like two items, but they're related. So, it's it's a little bit more like one item um for the 16th. Um I don't know if we have spoken to that applicant if he'd like to go forward if we don't have a full commission or not, but we'll check. Okay. All right. Thank you. Well, this meeting is adjourned.
