Planning Commission - Regular Meeting

Welcome to On the Agenda, where we highlight the activities of City of Salina Boards and Commissions. I'm your host, David Hawksworth. The City Commission meets on Monday, June 22nd. Here's a rundown of what's on the agenda. At 3 p.m., commissioners will hold a study session and continue their discussions on the 2027 budget. At the regular 4 p.m. meeting, the City Commission will consider renewal of the City's property casualty insurance policies. Also on the agenda, approval of the issuance of industrial revenue bonds for the Lee Lofts renovation project, approval of a temporary increase in the city manager's purchasing authority for tree trimming and removal, establishment of a special improvement district for the extension of Virginia Drive, and approval of a historic sign designation for the HD Lee Flower Mills sign. The consent agenda includes appointment of members to citizen boards, commissions, and committees, authorization for Evergy to move power poles for the landfill scales project, and a bid award for parks concrete improvements. An executive session is scheduled to discuss potential acquisition of specific real estate. Possible action may follow. Here's the City Board and Commission update. The Planning Commission met on June 16th and approved a final plat for the Salina Family Edition at the northwest corner of Ohio Street and Edison Place. All City Board and Commission meetings are available to view on Salina TV, Cox Cable Channel 20, as well as on the City's Facebook page and YouTube page. Channel 20 schedule information is located on the City's website, salina-ks.gov, in the Boards and Commissions section under the Government tab. City Board and Commission meetings scheduled through July 10 include the Downtown Design Review Board, Thursday, June 25 and July 9 at 4 p.m., the Planning Commission, Tuesday, July 7 at 4 p.m., and the Animal Control Advisory and Appeals Board, Wednesday, July 8 at 4 p.m. All meetings take place in Room 107 of the City-County Building, unless otherwise noted, and the meeting agendas will be available on the City's website, salina-ks.gov.
