But we don't have to recommend a date there, do we? Yeah, that's what that's where we need to recommend the date for a date for the for the 26th to see the
Good evening everybody. We're um glad to be here tonight. It's in our planning commission. Um we uh are all the commissioners are here except for Celeste Nolan, Kent Anderson, and Randy Pollson who are excused. Um at this time uh we'd like to open up um the meeting to public comment if there's anybody has that has anything that they would like to say uh that is not uh regarding to an in regards to an action item that we have on our agenda tonight. You're welcome to come up and do that. Sir, would you did you want to make a comment? I'm okay.
Okay. Um then we'll move on to uh presentations and reports. Mr. Cooper,
thank you very much. Um, as I mentioned in the work session, we have a couple of businesses that are wrapping up, Mission Barbecue and Panera. So, we hope to see some grand openings scheduled for the month of August. We'll send out a notice to you and and invite you to those as as usual. Um, and everything else that's going on in the city is progressing well. the town homes, if you haven't been over there, they're actually getting the framing finished and the exterior um work done, the brick and the sighting. Uh the houses up at Coleman View are going up quickly. They're all white apparently on the backside, so that's fun. Um but that's uh happening and and they've actually started the horizontal utility work for phase three. So that work's now commencing. We should see that finished up and the rest of that subdivision, the roads and the sidewalks uh put in. The homes are going to take some time as we anticipated, but at least the subdivision infrastructure will be in fairly soon. Uh so that's my
is the roundabout going to be done before the homes already? No. Well, the roundabout plan there. I mean, depends on how long the homes take to sell. If they take three years to sell, then yes, I think the roundabout will be finished. But the roundabout won't be finished this year. I don't even think it'll start this year. Roundabout. Okay. Is that everything? Uh, that's it. Um, except for the uh the new change at 5600 with the with the uh the through turn. That's a terrible idea. Uh, but it's temporary. So, Try to avoid that area if you can.
Yeah. Really? And our last meeting, we had a gentleman come and talk to us about Walmart's trucks. Has that been resolved? Uh, we gave that information and those pictures to Shawn and Shawn sent some guys out to check it out. I don't know what the outcome is, uh, but it was passed on to the appropriate people. Where is the roundabout going to be located? I'm not familiar. It's right at the convergence of South Wever Drive, Ritter, and uh what is that? 1050. Oh, okay. Where the three Yeah. all of that comes together.
So, it's a well-designed roundabout, but we're still working on some design issues, funding, and then the contracting and and UD do stuff. That'll be fun to see. All right. Um then we'll move on uh to uh item D uh consent items. Consideration of uh meeting minutes from June 24th for our regular meeting and for the work session. Any um changes that need to be made to the meet to the minutes? Then um
I'll make a motion to approve the meeting minutes from June 24th, 2025. I'll second it. Okay. All in favor? Yes. Yes.
And so that's passes. And then on to to item E, action items. Uh, all we have tonight is consideration to set a public hearing to receive and consider public comment regarding proposed amendment to Riverdale City Code 10-10A-3G, retail smoke shops. We just need a um um motion uh to consider that hearing. Is there anybody that would like to present a motion? I will uh present the motion to consider to set a public hearing. Do we need to put a date in that? August 26 to receive and consider public comment regarding a proposed amendment to Riverdale City Code 10-10A-3G retail smoke shops.
Would that be um to set a public hearing and not consider it? Is that correct? Consider to set a public hearing. We're considering it now. So, you want to make a motion to set it. Well, okay. Yeah, we want to set that for the Okay. Set that as a public hearing and a second. I'll second it. Okay. All in favor? Yes. Yes. And it No, there's nobody opposed. So, that passes as well. Um, any comments from the planning commission or from anyone else? Thanks for coming in for a very short meeting. Okay. Make a motion to adjurnn.
Second. Second. And uh all those in favor? Yes. Yes. Okay. And we're adjourned. Thank you very much. Was it worth the drive in? Oh, yeah. That's a record. Definitely a record. Five minutes.
