Yes, it is now time to open the special session to hear public comments before closed session. We'll begin with the roll call.

For the record, Council Member Brown and Council Member Bonner are absent for roll call. During closed session, Council will discuss the following items. Item C1, Public Employee Appointment, Title Interim City Manager Recruitment. Item C2, Public Employee Appointment, Title City Manager Recruitment. And Item C3, Public Employee Performance Evaluation, Title City Manager. We do have one request to address to Council. If there's anyone joining us online that would like to address the council, please raise your hand at this time. And there's no one online. So we have one speaker, and that's Cordell Hendler.

So good evening, Mayor Martinez, Council, Cordell, Hendler, and I have three things to share regarding these items.

So I'm going to do a little out of order.

So as far as the performance evaluation, Shasta Curl has done an outstanding job. She always presents ideas to whatever ideas she has that this council has, she takes it into consideration. When you go back in there, think of all the hard work that she has accomplished, number one. Number two, as far as I look forward to her weekly reports, because she shares a lot of information to the community. So when you go back in there, she has put a lot of effort into our city. Number three, she is compassionate and she is always fearless. So when you go back in there, think about she is a fearless leader. In my book, she is fearless. She does not let nothing or no one bring her down. That being said, she's done a great job. So when you go back in there, think of all the contributions she has done. Then, as far as the interim city manager, I looked at the charter from 1999, and it does specify that the city manager, she can appoint a deputy or a department head. So that's the decision that this council should consider. And then as far as the city manager recruitment, you just approved Bob Murray and Associates two weeks ago, so I would use them because they can get the job done just that fast. So with that, go back into that closed session, think of all those things that I said.
