Second we have a motion in a second all in favor. Please signify by saying aye New business we have the wreath Riley construction 2026 Street paving change order good morning What you have in front of you is change order number one for our street paving project for the year?

We have two added line items the first one is VRAM which is avoid reducing asphalt membrane It's a material that we put where the joint is between the asphalt when they pave. They pave one lane at a time and it goes in between underneath it and it's supposed to do a better job of holding that joint together. Whenever you get a joint in the asphalt, it just lets water in and it keeps cracking beyond that. So we wanted to try this on Willowdale Road since we're doing a more extensive repair on that at the time of paving. And then our second new line item is curb replacements on Charlotte streets So the total increase of the contract amount is two hundred seventeen thousand five hundred eighty-five dollars Are there any questions or emotion Due to curbs being more of a stormwater function, our utility is going to fund a portion of the curbs on Charlotte Street. So you guys hold the contract. That's why we're here for the change order. But when it comes time for the payout, we'll be sending that one to the utility.

So they've started the other streets. They've started the streets where we're just doing a two-inch mill and fill. And they aren't wanting to start Willowdale and Charlotte until after the 4th because it's more in-depth, obviously, now with the curb replacement on Charlotte. They want to make sure that they don't have to take off for a holiday. They can just get at it.

That makes a lot of sense. I bet the people on Charlotte would appreciate it too.

Yeah, I don't know. When it's done, yes, definitely.

So isn't that how it always goes? People complain about roads until it actually gets time to fix them.

Then it's like, wait, why are you fixing them?

All right, that gets us to consideration of step three, grievances. Attorney Bartnicki. Thank you.

All right, before the board, just to briefly summarize, at the June 9th meeting, prior to the June 9th meeting, there was an executive session where the board members heard union arguments and management arguments on two different step three grievances. Then before this regular session, there was a second executive session where the members discussed potential decisions. So before the members are two separate step three responses or step three decisions reflecting discussion and what you took in and heard from that step three discussion on June 9th. So before you are two different draft decisions for your consideration, any further discussion should you want to and action right now. So we have the step three grievance for the Soma Delis discipline. So that'll be the first one to consider.

Yes, that would be fine. It's not necessarily due to title, but it's due to the fact that you were unable, you were traveling, and so you did not hear the argument, so that makes sense. Yes. So the resident did put a bulk item appeal in for 5760 Mulberry Avenue regarding a bulk item that, and not necessarily a bulk item, but items that she placed out for someone in her family or friend. She's here today if you have any questions for her, but underneath these circumstances, I'm asking the board to have lenience here in this $40 charge. She understands that possibly maybe she could put it out on a Saturday and do that exchange, but yes.

You're welcome to come up if you like, but since you've got the department on your side, that's usually a pretty good sign. I'll make a motion we approve the appeal.
