Attorney Sean Teresi serving as counsel to the board for this matter. Earlier this afternoon, the board conducted an executive session hearing on Fire Chief Steve Holland's recommendation of dismissal of firefighter paramedic Sydney Broda under the statutes and TAB, Mark McIntyre, Interpreting case all those hearings are permitted to be conducted in executive session, but final decision action has to be taken in a public meeting at the conclusion of. TAB, Mark McIntyre, or during but near the end of the executive session, the board members have an opportunity to deliberate on evidence argument that was presented and believe came to a consensus on decision I have prepared. of findings of fact regarding the august 25th 2026 hearing um and um which findings are required under the state statutes we made the first few paragraphs are just kind of introductory paragraphs to set the stage and and tell uh what occurred today that the hearing was conducted and then it goes on to say after considering all the witness testimony exhibits an argument offered at the hearing the board finds as follows paragraph one pursuant to indiana code Section 36-8-3-4B2B, with regard to the charge that paramedic Rhoda violated rules, the Board finds paramedic Rhoda guilty as charged. Paragraph 2, pursuant to Indiana Code Section 36-8-3-4B2C, with regard to the charge that paramedic Rhoda committed neglect or disobeyed orders, the Board finds paramedic Rhoda guilty as charged. With respect on Paragraph 3, pursuant to Indiana Code Section 36-8-3-4 , with regard to the charge that paramedic Rhoda engaged in conduct on becoming an officer, the Board finds paramedic Rhoda guilty as charged. Paragraph 4, pursuant to Indiana Code Section 36-8-3-4 , with regard to the charge that paramedic Rhoda committed another breach of discipline, the Board finds paramedic Rhoda guilty as charged. Wherefore, based upon the above findings, paramedic Sydney Rhoda is dismissed from her employment with the Plymouth Fire Department effective immediately. So that's what I've written up in response to the discussion that was had in the executive session. And I would just offer that to the board for any further deliberations or if that seems in order with the desires, the board would request a motion to approve the findings as presented.
