Council approved the payrolls of the various departments of the City of Plattsburgh for the beginning of August 19th, 2026, in the amount of $615,636.17. And the Council approved the bills audited by the Common Council for the weeks ending August 14th, 2026, in the amount of $1,096,341.22, and August 21st, 2026, in the amount of $1,130,260.89.

Yeah. So for Class 4 Public Library, the next library board meeting is going to be August 25th at 4.30. And I just want to say thank you. The dino ice cream party was very fun. So I was very happy to attend. Thank you very much. Next for the Climate Smart Task Force, we just had our meeting yesterday. And we're still waiting on the shipment for the collection bins for the food scraps on it's looking like they're probably going to be able to be picked up sometime in September. And so we're looking at probably an October on rollout event of some kind. Perhaps maybe we'll see about after the farmer's market is done for the season, maybe like around that time, maybe use that area. So that's what we talked about. And there's gonna be a climate task force table at the Parks and Alive event today at Melissa Penn Field Park. So come and say hi, learn about us. Thanks.

Just to clarify, this was just the change with the 70,000 that we talked about, right?

For new business this evening, I would like to introduce local law P2 of 2026. It's a local law establishing a temporary land use moratorium on the establishment and expansion certain high energy computing facilities pending completion of the city's comprehensive zoning update. I set the public hearing for Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 at 530 p.m.

Okay. Um, I'd also like to give a big thanks to all the city employees. We had, uh, August 18th, we had our, uh, hundredth birthday party outside and the departments, I mean, DPW repainted the signs out there. I mean, it looked, it looks, It still looks amazing out there. And all the other city staff that did a lot of work for it. And I want to say thank you to all the city staff because when Plathford looks good, we all look good. And I think we look great.

I'm going to give you a clap. Was it good?

Yeah, it was awesome. And those signs, I don't know how they... DPW took those signs and repainted them. God bless them. I don't know how they did that. But it was raised letters. And you look out there and they pop. I mean, it looks good. And... Moving forward, we're thinking Mike Bissette and I have been speaking about having a competition where Mike's guys are going to go around and sandblast fire hydrants. and have a competition painting these back up as, you know, as being America 250, holding an America 250 theme, you know, something that's a bicentennial, something patriotic, something along those lines. And I think it would be really cool to see, I don't know, Chief, I mean, we've got to bring you in a conversation too, but, you know, we won't, We'll make sure the colors are the same. So, you know, how many each 1, there's a certain color on gallons per minute.

Right. So, but I, I think it'd be a fun competition. I think we're gonna start in the downtown district 1st, and then see how it goes and then. I think it would make Plasberg a little unique and I think it'd be pretty cool.

And I mean, when you see a brand new, when you see these, you see a brand new hydrant out there and it just looks clean and it looks good. So if we were to put a personal touch with our residents, I think it'd be, anyways, I think it'd be pretty awesome.

I think the America 250 is where we have to theme it this year. I mean, with everything going on, the historical significance of this city and this lake, I think we almost have to stay on that. I don't know how you guys feel. I mean, well, that's, we're going to work through when, you know, we're going to get Emma and we, you know, we got to get the upstairs on board and Mike's got, I mean, we've got some paving to do. So we've been busy. I mean, we've done a lot of paving this year and we're going to do more. So anyway, so that, that beautifying the city, I think we're going to work really hard on it. We got to do better with flowers. We got to do better. When you come in the city, I want to see the signs that say, welcome to Plattsburgh. I want to see it. I mean, it should. It really needs to. So we just redid one of the stands coming in. They're going to be taking them down one at a time, and we're doing it one at a time. We need to do that and get flowers. I mean, we don't have flowers in the city, and I'm tired of it. We need to do better, and we will.

On that note, I don't think everyone that showed up for the project that I did for the Samuel D. Champlain monument pulled out a ton of vegetation out of their mounds of it, but we're still not done. So I'm thinking not this weekend, but next.

shape it up and get it out of all the vegetation that doesn't belong here well it does look a lot better even now i mean it looks awesome i mean you know you spend one day in a park here and you see you go to drive around the city's beautiful and uh a little touch up here a little touch up there it's even more beautiful and that's i that's what i want to see you know we got to do away with the negative boo birds and do a positive right Right?
