We have resolution 2026-8 resolution amending the town of Pine Bluffs fiscal year 2026-27 budget to capture revenues and expenses related to a grant from the Wyoming Department of Homeland Security for the purpose of police department radios provides for severability and providing an effective date.

Mayor and Town Council, we received this grant to replace some aging police department radios that were pretty much non-functional. The grant did cover the cost of five replacement radios with their chargers.

I just wanted to come and touch base about the car show again, make sure that we can get that street blocked off okay like we did last year. It was perfect last year. It was really blocked off well, and it worked really well. And maybe if we can use the bus parking lot, if you could help secure that bus parking lot, that worked really great for the bigger vehicles. We had quite a turnout last year, so we'll probably end up going down the street, hopefully, this year, like on the school side. So I don't know if it'd be possible to get a barricade maybe down further down that street, like somewhere down the middle maybe.

You're thinking like in front of the high school further down that street?

Yeah, so the plan was last year is once we filled up that north side of the park and the bus area and that intersection, we filled all that up really well. The idea last year was if we had to go, we would start lining cars up in front of the school. So if we grow this year, then we might have to do that. So I was thinking maybe if we get a barricade like just down, like halfway down, like almost like in the alley, you know, where the alley comes out between Ron Raybo's rental and the church, like maybe right there.

What if we just took it all the way to Pine, Jeff?

We could do that. I mean, we could do that.

I mean, it maybe gives you three more cars, but... Yeah.

Yeah, well, yeah, if it really grows and we could go all the way down that street and then I'm sure we'd be able to park in front of the church and because there's nobody around. And then I'm sure Raybo would be fine with me parking. I need to check with Velma Rear, but I'm sure Velma Rear would be okay with it down there too.

I think Velma would be fine.

Yeah, and last year I checked with Heather, and she was fine too with it. The only people I don't know is the people that are on the Main Street corner, and I think somebody reached out to them last year. I just don't know who they are. But they were fine with it.

Yeah, it was Damien, and I think one of us reached out to him, and he was fine with it.

So we're good with just getting the street blocked off fairly early, really well. And I'm going to have people coming up that elm at that intersection just like last year, too. And it worked out really great.

How early did they block it off last year?

I don't know. It was blocked off. I was over there early getting ready. I was there by 8, and it was already blocked off. So whatever we get blocked. The earlier the better because it prevents people from parking there because people like to park. That was the whole problem I used to have when I was doing it years ago at the park. But last year it was blocked off. I think it might have even blocked off the night before. And maybe not... You know, the down the street one, but even if we had the park part of it blocked off the night before, I don't know, maybe. I hate to do that one that early, but I'm really hoping we can grow it, you know, another 25 cars. We had 76 last year, so I'm hoping to break 100 this year. So that's kind of the goal. That would be great. That would be great. I'm really hoping for it. So I was told that... Stacy's not going to be able to do the pin-up girl contest, though, because she's helping take care of Megan. So that's kind of a bummer, but that was kind of their deal. It was fun to have it with the car show, but it was still theirs to take care of. And I'm still hoping to have a band. I'm still working on that. It might just be a couple of acoustic guitars. I don't know what we're going to do yet, but I'm still working on that. But anyway, that's all. I just wanted to make sure we could get that street blocked off okay like we did last year.

Cool. Hopefully the night before. Yeah, yeah. The night before was great last year because it just kept people out. I did bring a couple extra posters if anybody wants.

Yeah, I was actually going to come up and put one in the entryway. I just keep forgetting.

Yeah, I think it's great. I mean, and I'm glad I finally brought it back to the park because the problems I had years ago when I had it at the park don't seem to be existing this time around. So it's really great. And that's thanks to you guys getting it blocked off. So I really appreciate that. And I really think it does help keep people in the park. My wife and I were talking, hopefully more vendors will start popping up. Because I remember years ago there was all sorts of vendors in the park. You know, it was really an all-day thing. And that's kind of what we want to do with the car show is just help keep people there and, you know, keep people hanging out. And, you know, I know last year they sold out of the food, so that was great.

Yeah.

So I don't know if they've done that for a while. But, yeah, they sold out. I even thought about seeing about a food truck, but I don't want to take away from what they're doing with the park. So I just kind of decided that's probably not something I wanted to dive into.

And there probably will be food trucks there. There might be. It's just the meal that. because put on the park is free, so that's hard to beat.

It is hard to beat, and I don't want to step on their tail, because I think that's great, so I want them to sell out. I even thought about asking Raybo's if they wanted to bring their little ice cream trailer, but I haven't done that yet. The thing is, I don't know where I'd put them, is really what it comes down to. I don't know, maybe in that bus parking lot too, but I don't know, what would you guys think about that? I'd be fine with it.

Well, last year, didn't Rapo's park in the elementary school park come up facing the park?

So they were there. They were there, yeah. So I was just so busy, I didn't even really get around at all. All I was just concentrating on was the show. But I thought I heard somebody say that they were there, so okay. Is that the same one that was at the night out? no that one is Mason's and he does like little waffle pops yeah that's what I was thinking of is Mason's yeah it's really cute little it's like a horse trailer yeah he does a good job with it Mason's done that for a long time you know when he was really young he was doing the chili cook off in Chugwater so he's been cooking and doing stuff for a while yeah any questions anything suggestions that we could add

I don't currently have a department.

I missed the airport meeting, but I did get an update from Kevin. He said that there was 385 airport operations, meaning landings or takeoffs, which was up from a year ago, which was 263. So that's good. And again, they had a good... a good month of selling fuel, 2,500 gallons. So previous month I think it was 3,000, but 2,500 is still a lot of fuel. So that was good, but that's about all I got.

And I also missed the landfill board meeting, so not sure what happened there.

William's really quiet right now. The interim is just kind of slow and steady right now, so nothing new to report for me.

The Senior Center has some staffing changes in Burns. We had a resignation, and Alicia is interviewing this week to find new hires and working on some grants and funding, and she's got everything under control there.

I don't have anything to report on behalf of Alex, so I think everything on the legal side should be good.
