There's been other issues before this with the procurement process. I could elaborate on that now, but I know that there's a lot of city business to handle. And whereas, through hard work and determination, Jamaria Richardson has emerged as one of the nation's premier track and field athletes and was recognized for her commitment to service and achievement through the 2023 Silver Seal Award signed by President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. and whereas jamaria richardson earned the title of 2024 fastest female in mug city and captured the 2025 florida high school athletic association class 1a 4 by 400 meter relay state championship demonstrating exceptional athletic ability teamwork and leadership and whereas Jamaria Richardson received national recognition as the USA Track and Field National Champion in both the 200-meter and the 400-meter races and continued her success by winning the 2026 FHSAA Class 1A 400-meter state championship and whereas jamaria richardson has earned the prestigious distinction of being a 14-time all-american junior olympic champion and has been named a hokey high school track and field most valuable player each year from 2023 through the present time reflecting sustained excellence in sportsmanship and leadership And, whereas, Jamaria Richardson serves as a positive role model whose character, humility, determination, and pursuit of excellence inspires young athletes throughout Pahokee, Muck City, and beyond. On behalf of the Bohokia City Commission, Commissioner Williams, Commissioner Scott, Commissioner McPherson, Commissioner McDonald, our city manager, our city attorney, and our entire city staff, I am, as the mayor, deeply honored and it's a privilege to present this proclamation to you. would be one of the best and greatest triton in the United States of America. So we're so honored and so privileged to recognize you for your accomplishment. City Commissioner, Mr. Scott, who I was going to have present this personally to you because he's kind of specialized in sports. I was going to give for the commission, so congratulations. We want you to say a few words, we want you to coach it You know, when you win an Olympic medal, you always have to say a few words. So he did say a few words and went down.

I want to thank everyone for just coming. First of all, you have to know her to know that they don't come no special than Jamari. I mean, a leader, a role model, and someone, I don't know no kid that worked harder than her, boy or girl. But I got to take my hat off to her mom, too, now. I want to be real with y'all. I mean, the other coaches, we call her Coach Mom. Because listen, she watch everything. And some days when we practicing, after practice, I can go up on the dike, her and her mom up there. Her mom got her stopped, watch, she working. I said, boy, this little girl is going to be tired after a while. But Jamari is a special kid. And she ain't just got to be special, she been special. And you know, she got some teammates that are special too. She the leader. She lead by example in the classroom. She lead by example in practice and doing track meets. Everywhere we go, kids be asking me could they come to Pahokee just because they want to run with her. That's the effect that she have on other kids.

I just want to say thank you to everyone that helped me respond to this moment.

So tonight we will have an end of session report, which is traditionally presented. So we're going to switch gears right now. We'll have a presentation by Kendall Newsom, a founder and CEO of Teach a Child to Fish.

Good afternoon, commissioners, mayor, vice mayor, and everybody here from the city of Pahokee. My name is Kendall Newsom.

I am a former NFL player from the Miami Dolphins.

I played there from 2001 to 2007. I'm from Georgia, Atlanta, Georgia. And I just want to get right to the point.

There's a lot of things that I see in Pahokee that you guys already know that are treasures to Pahokee.

First off, I had a...

Like I said, my name is Kendall Newsom, former NFL player, Miami Dolphin, 01 to 07. I'm from Georgia. Started an organization called Teach a Child a Fish to give back to the community. I've been doing that over 20 years now. And the first idea to start teaching child official was on 27 at the Holy Lands when it first came to me. So now being back in the city of Pahokee gives me great joy, gives me great excitement, gives me passion of what I want to do for the city of Pahokee. to come in here and build a relationship with everybody here in the city. I love what this young lady has started and what she's done. I mean, we should give her another hand, you know, because she's... that's the energy that i like that's the energy that i see that's the energy that i'm about i was a three sport athlete in high school basketball football and track i ran the 800 the 4x4 the 400 triple jump i went to state in the triple jump so there are some things that we share in common but there are some things that we all share and come in here in the city of pohoki pohoki has one of the largest freshwater lakes in the country, which is Lake Okeechobee, which is the backdrop. It's a beautiful lake. It's an opportunity for us, through my organization, Teach a Child to Fish, the NFL, to come back into Pahokee to do events. I wanted to say a little bit about my family so you know who I am. My dad, my mom, deacons in church. My mom is an evangelist, seven brothers and sisters. I am married for over 22 years. The events that I am looking to bring into Pahokee starts next year or this year. I'm looking at September Labor Day weekend to bring in a festival day type festival for the waterfront. The waterfront, the restaurant bar, and the campground is what my proposal is laying out. It's a one-pager, because I'm looking to engage in farther communications with some of the investors that I have lined up already. I've been in town for two weeks, meeting and negotiating with people. Tomorrow, I go play golf with about 100 NFL players that I will be speaking to them about Pahokee, to bring them to Pahokee, to tell them about Pahokee and the wonderful things that are going to be going on in Pahokee. So I am already committed. I'm in. IT, I just happened to hear it. We have that as well. We have security as well. So we have a lot of things that we can bring, but I'm not gonna stand here and just talk about the things that we can bring and what we can do. So I wanted to kind of leave it on this note. I am here to provide whatever assistance I can through my organization, Teach a Child to Fish. And that is, if you give a child a fish, he's gonna eat for a day, or she's gonna eat for a day. But if we all teach a child a fish, we're gonna eat for a lifetime. So I was coming down here, and my friend called me, he prayed. I said, man, thank you for that. And I got here and I felt this heavy spirit. And I said, that's okay. It's okay. Because through the hard time is where you find your blessing. We have to go through the hard time to find the blessing. We might not want to go, but we got to go through it to find our blessing. This is me who you're getting. Someone you can talk to, someone that is relatable, someone that don't lie about what I can do. I tell you what I can do, and if I can't do it, I can't do it. It's just like that. We gotta find a way to do it, but that's the hard time. We would have to find a way to do it. I love to work with the... Fire and police, we've worked with fire and police for many years where fire come in and we have a mobile fishing pond where we take to schools where we put 500 catfish in a mobile fishing pond for kids to catch their first fish. So we've been doing this for a long. I can stand up here and say all the things that we can do, but I want you guys to rest assured after seeing me today, I can hang here if there's any questions, anything you guys want to ask me, I can hang here. I can stay here for another week if I need to. But this is very dear to my heart. It's very serious because I understand that the city, one thing about it is one of my family members died in the hurricane here in 1928. And that's on my wife's side. It was a massive hurricane. And when that hurricane came, it devastated the city. Back then, it was $74 million of damage. In today's money, it's like 560. So we understand the level of investment that needs to come into Pahokee. And I think, well I know that God is providing, God is showing us, and he's leading me. So within me you have a leader that will reach back into the kids, that will start job growth, that will start workforce development with what we're doing. I cannot do that all in five minutes, but I will assure you I can put it together with the next meeting.

OK, can you hear me? Hi, my name is Kat Medeiros. I'm a district aide for Meg Weinberger. I will tell you quickly, I was retired after 40 years of politics. Meg convinced me to come back because she is a dedicated representative who really cares and does want progress in Pahokee and has been out here many times. She has done some things throughout the district and some stuff for Pahokee, and we know we still have a lot of work to do. One of the shining stars in this whole thing is that your new city manager has a great working relationship with Representative Weinberger, and we are always available to talk to anyone from Pahokee if you want to give us a call. I'll give anyone my cell phone number because that's how important we feel this area is. So what Meg has done is, one of the things she did was she had the airport renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport. Some people like it, some people don't, but what it is bringing to the airport is a lot of positive stuff, and in the licensing agreement, ALL THE MONEY STAYS WITHIN THE COUNTY. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY 100% OF THE MONEY THAT'S MADE OFF ANYTHING AT THE AIRPORT THAT HAS TO DO WITH HIS NAME STAYS, GOES TO THE COUNTY. THAT WAS THE AGREEMENT. THAT WAS THE WAY WE HAD IT DONE. SO LOOK FOR SOME GOOD THINGS TO HAPPEN THERE. FROM THERE SHE KEPT BUILDING. HOUSE BILL 1521 STRENGTHENS PROTECTIONS FOR DOMESTIC ANIMALS. HOUSE BILL 7005 PRESERVES PRIVACY FOR INDIVIDUALS ASKING FOR EMERGENCY STORM SHELTER. I know that's very important to a lot of people. A lot of people are humble, and they don't need people to know their business. House Bill 565 enhances oversight and expands services for individuals with disabilities. And House Bill 33 designates major transportation corridors across South Florida, and that includes this area. Beyond our own bills, the representatives stood behind measures on animal cruelty, domestic violence protections, conservation, and public safety. NOW CLOSER TO HOME, HERE IN BELL GLADES. BELL GLADES SAW SOME REAL WINDS THIS SESSION. $4 MILLION FOR THE MICROWAVE PLASMA WASTE REDUCTION PROJECT. $2.26 MILLION FOR H1 BASIN STORM WATER IMPROVEMENTS. 372,867 FOR THE GLADES WORKFORCE EXPANSION PROGRAM. NOW, LET ME TELL YOU, REPRESENTATIVE WEINBERGER IS REALLY INTERESTED IN EDUCATION, ALSO VOCATIONAL EDUCATION. SO IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS FOR THAT, SHE IS OPEN TO THAT, AND SHE IS PROMOTING THAT HEAVILY. Also, we're not going to sugarcoat it. Your demucking and backfilling restoration projects made it through the legislature but was vetoed at the governor's desk. That's not the outcome that any of us wanted, but we're not finished. The representative is also working with a grant writer out of DC to see what we can do to help the people that did not get the grants that we wanted. What all she can do is try and get it to the governor's desk and then lobby to try and get it done. On the budget overall, our office requested 52 appropriations totaling $47 million and delivered 21 projects where funding securing $16.18 million across seven budget areas from the Everglades restoration to disability services to public safety. Finally, she passed resolutions recognizing profound autism awareness day and autoimmune awareness month The representative is going to continue to take focus. This is one of her favorite areas of her district and She wants to continue to bring results to communities. She also wants you guys to know her door is open. Her staff is available My number is five six one seven eight seven eight eight six eight I answer it 24-7 if I don't I might not be standing here next year talking to you But and it's true, but in all seriousness Representative Weinberger apologizes that she could not make it she comes out here as often as she can and I think the mayor the city is manager and the whole Council knows that she's just a phone call away.

This resolution authorizes the execution of fiscal year 2026 through 2027 community development block grant agreement with Palm Beach County to provide funding for the city's code enforcement personnel. The grant funding helps the city address property maintenance issues improve neighborhoods appearance enhance public safety and reduce the financial impact on the city's general funding the spreadsheet for this particular grant is on page 62 of your agenda and it is a a grant that the city has used starting in 2027 And then more recently, again, for last year and again, we're applying for next year as well, for 2026, 2027. This grant covers partial salary for one of our code enforcement persons. And so you'll see that on the spreadsheet.

Yes. This resolution authorizes the purchase of three used buses from the Florida Department of Transportation for the Parks and Recreation Department as a cost not to exceed $21,150. This acquisition, acquiring these buses provides a cost-effective way to expand transportation services for youth programs, seniors, recreational activities, and community events. In addition, the buses will enhance the city's emergency preparedness by providing transportation resources that can be utilized during emergency responses, evacuations, shelter operations, and other emergency management activities when needed. these buses have been in the possession of the recreation department since 2014 and 2019. recreation the recreation has the opportunity to receive now the recreation i'm sorry now recreations has the opportunity to receive full ownership of these buses

I know it says that we have had these buses for some time. Where are the funds coming from to take care of the cost?

So currently the funds for these buses, we created a line item under recreation, and there is a called capital outlay. And there are funds that are currently available under non-departmental contingency for these particular type of events. And so we have currently moved $21,150 to that event. to that line item, I'm sorry, the total in the contingency fund was $51,341.42. So that leaves us $30,191.42 remaining in that contingency fund. And the way it was transferred over is standard practice, so we did not have to increase the budget because we already had the funds there.

Okay, so recreation already has the means to take care of the purchase of these vehicles.

Correct. And they have been maintaining the vehicle since they've had them. So there will be nothing different as far as maintaining the vehicles. They can. They were maintaining the vehicles from the time that they received them.

You said a line item was created in under the recreation department line.

It was created under under there so we'll have the information and it will be coming out of that particular line item will be for capital outlay so that it can be properly audited to show that there is a line item there.

When you say we created the line item, who is we?

The finance department created the line item. There is funds under non-departmental contingency funds. that is standard in our budget, and there are contingency funds there so that if we need any additional items, then we would use those funds.

I have one question for clarification. The $21,150, is that a total amount for the three buses? And are they an equal amount per bus or the buses are divided in certain cost factors?

good question so there is a spreadsheet on page 77 there's a spreadsheet showing a fair market value for each of the buses and those prices were because we had already started looking at the blue book value for them as well and they were much less than that so for the $21,150 for all three buses. So we have each of the buses there listed what the actual price would be. And you'll see what the price would have been as well as the mileage and the years on it. So you'll see the difference.

Okay, my final question would be, are all three, I know they've been serviced and maintained, but are all three in good operating condition? And have they been used regularly by the Parks and Recreation Department?

The answer to all of those is yes. They have been in the hands of the Recreation Department. they are in good use and they use those buses when they have to transport the students to the different games that they're involved in and this give us a total also you'll see on there there's the bus seats on the seats for each of the buses and then so there's a total of 65 seats total for all three buses

And that line item is already accounted for in the current budget, correct?

Correct.

This resolution approves a professional service agreement with Keith W Davis Esquire to continue serving as the city's special magistrate. The special magistrates provides an independent and impartial hearing process for code enforcement cases, ensuring the city administrator, I'm sorry, ensuring the city administrators, it is code. enforcement program fairly consistently and in accordance with Florida law. And Mr. Keith W. Davis has been the magistrate for a number of years for us. His rate remained the same as it did last year.

The city cannot proceed with selecting a vendor under the current RFP while also evaluating an alternate governmental service model. So we have been talking with this particular person, and they will be able to step in immediately. And so we will give them a call tonight to let them know and leave a message where they said they will be able to step in as soon as possible.

Mr. Mayor, this would require a slight revision of the current resolution that you have in front of you. So instead of the city manager being able to come back and make recommendations for another vendor, you may consider allowing her to make certain decisions about that up to some dollar amount. And so I think the manager does have some ideas about what the cost would be. that may be based on well you know the gentleman resigning I do think there are some some things you all could do about that but it may not it may be water under the bridge at this point but if the city is willing and interested in moving on there is you know we can amend this resolution because it's properly before you and it's on the same subject

So just a report from the last commission meeting that we attended. We were asked to concentrate a traffic enforcement on Bacon Point Road. From week one to week three, it was three weeks, we had a significant reduction in traffic violations observed. So it seems to be... We're getting there. We thank the citizens for their cooperation in this. We will continue to monitor that area. We currently have our speed trailer out there now. I'm sure everyone has seen it. So we are monitoring the traffic. That's all I have.

And on behalf of the Paoka City Commission, I want to thank you personally and your deputies for putting that into place. We mentioned it at the last commission meeting. I thought it was going to take a while to get done, but you jumped on that right away. Not only... The traffic sign, there are the signals showing the speed, but you even had deputies out patrolling and making sure that speed was reduced. So we really thank you for that and the speediness of it. Again, I know I just stated just a few minutes ago, but I want to again reiterate to the commander of Palm Beach County Sheriff Department and his staff about the way they have assisted the city in trying to slow down traffic on Bacon Point Road. I know there's other areas in Okay, but that's one that's a long stretch, and it was a speeding situation where I personally felt that someone would get hurt or injured or even possibly killed if we didn't do anything to try to reduce some of the speeding, and it's working, so that's great. Next, I want to just mention that we had the 250 50 year celebration of American birthday. That was a great event. The fireworks turned out marvellously. I think they went at least 20 minutes, I believe it was like 25. They gave us a little extra minutes, but that's one of the better firework displays that i have seen in a long time i know previously last year we had a lot of complaints from residents about not having a firework but it was a discussion about the reason why and a lot of things went into play on that but i like to thank staff pbso the fire department all the vendors and the public for just coming out and enjoying themselves for that firework. recently had deaf in the family my mother-in-law lost her youngest son at work he was working on a Sunday driving a forklift and died on the job so we thank you for your thoughts and prayers for that and then this Sunday her oldest sister died so she lost her son and her sister it's five of them and she's the only one now left in that sibling family so again would ask for your thoughts and prayers as they undergo their bereavement for the family and I would say thank you for the happy birthday wishes that I received by Facebook they really kind of brighten my day and since it is my day I'm gonna just share a little things with you about who I your mirror is or has been. I graduated from Pahokee High School in 1975. In 1975, 51 years ago, in high school, and we got an athlete here to play professional football. I wasn't able to play professional or college, but I was an athlete. I was an athlete of the year at Polk High School in 1975. I was a four-star starter. I played basketball. I was the MVP on the boys' basketball team. I was the most valuable cross-country runner. I played also trike. I was the 880th champion, Palm Beach County. I was the outstanding male student at Polk High School in 1975 and attended Texas College on an academic scholarship. My only criteria was to maintain a B. I did that with sort of ease. I made four C's. In eight semesters of school, two seasons, I'm sorry, the year I pledged my fraternity, I made the dean list eight consecutive semesters. I was the president of the senior class, the vice president of the Student Government Association, the president of Kappa Alpha Mu National Honor Society, the editor of the Longhorn staff newsletter, and I was a magna cum laude graduate of Texas College. Professionally, I was elected for my first term as a city commissioner in 1992. now we'll move to the report of the city manager too i don't know at some point i thought we had it in place the pre-purchase of lots that you can pay on say within a year i don't know how long we're allowed to go before you have to finished paying on it. But that's something that is commissioned if it's not already in place that that is another way you can generate funds by having already pre-purchased the plots. I know my mom even is interested in purchasing one for herself.

i don't know if you found out any information that so i know they were doing the amortization so which allows for like a contract but i would have to dig more deeper into that one um to see if it was actually allowed and if former actually had formal action actually came back before the commission for that um instead of just like continuing whatever they were doing so it has not been done in a while like in terms of contracts BUT I CAN CONTINUE DIGGING INTO THAT FIRST AND THEN REPORT THAT BACK TO LET YOU GUYS KNOW.

I have a question and I don't want to step on the vice mayor toes by any means but the vice mayor is hosting a community town hall and she did put in the advertisement it doesn't have anything related to city business but I know in the past any time that a flyer went out And if you use your title, it almost gave the impression that this event was part of coming from the city. And I mention it because of what the earlier guys say earlier about interference or there's a violation of some like that, which I'm not saying true or not. But just for your legal advice, is that something appropriate that an individual COMMISSIONER CAN DO, HOST A COMMUNITY TOWN HALL MEETING.

WELL, TYPICALLY YOU ALL WOULD VOTE ON SOMETHING LIKE THAT AS A BODY IF SOMEBODY IS USING THEIR TITLE. I GUESS IF THE VICE MAYOR OR ANY OF YOU WANTED TO DO SOMETHING THAT WASN'T CITY PROPERTY AND I GUESS AT A CHURCH OR WHOEVER, YOU KNOW, But if it appears as though it's related to the city, it would have to have certain notice requirements, would have to be voted upon, it would have certain things that would take place. You might even want to have it recorded or something like that. So I guess the only issue, and I don't know what the communication looks like or the flyer or whatever it is, but the only thing that you said that would would raise a legal concern is if like if one of you were using Commissioner or vice mayor or mayor you know that might that may lead people to believe it has something to do with the city and if that's the case that would need to be voted on by you all as a body with the majority of you voting in favor so

so on the flyer i did use my title as vice mayor but i clearly said that it was a community event and nothing pertaining to city business however if we need to do a vote i don't have a problem with that

you're not going to try to prolong it but also it's being held and not saying you're not paying for the cafeteria not quite I don't know but it's being held in the cafeteria here so that may be another perception that it may look like or may be I'm not just saying that from the public it may seem that way

well okay so if it's a personal event that any one of you would be doing and it's city property you could you know get a facility use for it and pay like any other resident you would have to pay like any other resident would pay for the use of the facility if if it's a you know individual event so hopefully that answers the question I don't you know I don't know. I mean, if I had the facts, I'd be able to tell you more. But based on what you're saying, whoever it is, any one of you, you would need to pay for the use if it's city property.

this particular event if it's going to be because I'm not opposed to it if it's information that's going to educate our public I'm all for it but I mean I just want to make sure we do things right I'm not going to do an event but I'm just trying to get some clarity but if I make the motion that we approve the event so

It's a community information event. We have invited several elected officials and some of them are able to attend and some of them are not. It's pertaining to providing voter registration information. the property tax, and so on and so forth. It's nothing that I've taken a personal interest in any more than just to educate our citizens about what they need to be aware of with regards to this upcoming election.

So if that's the case, the other issue that you all would want to be aware of is for your events. If you are doing it as a city event, the question is, who would be leading it? Who would be leading it? Normally, it would be the mayor, right? So if you're putting it out under your name and the city does agree to do an event, whenever you all do the event, you would want to, if you vote on it, you want to re-notice it. You would want to have the manager execute whatever it is that's happening as a city event through whatever the agenda was supposed to be or work with you to you know make sure it's clear it's published you know those kind of things if it is a city event so those are just things you all would want to consider if you're if you're gonna turn this into you know renaming it and we noticing it as a city event those are the things that you want to consider

I guess at this point the vote would need to take place so that we'll see if we can get it so I have one question I want to ask so if we vote on it I'm just asking do we have to all the information does it stay the same or have to be changed or do we have to

um give a different notice i'm just trying i don't know what the information is but what i'm saying is if it's a city's event then the manager should be involved in it and whatever the issues are she should know what they are and help with the agenda and help publicize it and make sure everybody's mentioned and you may want to put all of your pictures on it or you may want to put the mayor or you may want to put no pictures you know you you all should decide that as a part of whatever you vote on how you want this to appear okay You do, and I don't want to, because some cities would allow, Pahokee's not that city, but some cities would allow commissioners, they can have their own events. Generally, those are cities that when they represent certain districts, like District 1 or District 2, you know, that kind of thing or they have budgets for their own offices they may have staff for that office so this is not really pohoki's not really set up where you all do go do all your own different events right so i i just wouldn't want you to be confused if you saw that another city was doing that you're like wait a minute it's probably structured differently that city So I just leave that with you. But from the history that I know of, you all normally would vote for, when you do your town halls or you do your workshops, you vote as a body how you're going to do that. And then it's ferreted through the manager.

Right. Just for information purposes, if it's something that's going to educate our constituents as far as the taxes, the voter registration, I'm all for it. I don't know about anybody else, but I'll just clear that.

So just to bring further clarity, it's not about anything that I'm trying to do as a person for any type of recognition. It's for the citizens. So I don't have a problem with if Mayor Babb's name needs to go on the flyer. I don't have a problem with that. I don't have a problem with the city manager getting involved. Hey, let's invite everybody. It's for our citizens. It's not about me trying to present myself as some person that's this, that, or the other. However you want to perceive it is my take on it.

Another question, Madam Attorney. As long as we're not discussing anything, as for sunshine, that's okay for all of us to participate in something like that. As long as we're not doing any presentation or speaking about any scenes.

If this is going to be a city event, you should vote for it to be a city event, and you should notice it so that the clerk would notice it, and she would put out the publication wherever you all normally publish it, whether it's online or on the door, and it's a sunshine meeting. But you're... So I don't know what the format is, but let's just say you have somebody coming from the property appraiser's office or somebody coming to talk about what's going to happen, what the charter amendments are going to be on the ballot. Those are not things you're going to be going back and forth and talking city business, but because you're all there and there's a possibility of somebody saying something and then somebody else saying something, you probably want to just publicly notice it anyway like you would any other city meeting, right? And be clear on what you're calling it. Is it a town hall? Is it a workshop? Is it, you know, is it an informational forum? Is it a, what is it? So that's a part of what, if you decide you're going to vote, that's what you're going to vote on. Excuse me, I didn't mean to cut you off.

No, I was saying it's just a forum so that information can be disseminated.

I'll make a motion that y'all wanna do that but again you just have to make sure that it's done in the right manner put it back on the table for a community town hall meeting and let the city manager kind of spearhead how that would be along with things that Vice Mayor McDonough wanted to see happen. It happened and to be honest it's happened in South Bay but I don't think any of the other one individual commissioner did it and none of the other commissions showed up because not even the city manager because of the threat of maybe it was a violation of what they can or shouldn't do or can do and does it fall on in the sunshine violation of the publicly notice in the paper in all these other things we got people who are monitoring and looking at us and we make sure or trying to make sure we don't fall into traps that we may have gotten into in the past.

My whole point is I think we need to work together as a unit when it

that's my take on it the one thing that you raised and I wouldn't want this to be an issue for any of you if there is a space that has been secured and it's a city space and maybe Ms. Bryant knows about whatever it is but if it's a city space if you vote for it you won't have to Nobody would get in trouble, in other words. You would be able to use that space. It's secure. But if you don't support that, then the person, whoever is doing it individually, they need to pay for that space. So I don't want anybody to have any issues. And that's why I would think it would be a good idea if you all did this, because then make sure nobody gets in a problem or doesn't have a problem.

And if I'm not mistaken, I think there's already an agenda.

I don't think that'll be hard to just transfer everything over, but that's up to you all.

Yes. Thanks. I have someone from the community. And I think we had the justice before. about when we advertise jobs, we're not putting the minimum or maximum income out there. We're just putting the job title in there, but we're not saying how much the job paying. And I think that'll draw people's interest more if you put the amount on there. And I'd like to, yeah, because this phone ringing up, so I'd like to congratulate the third graders. They'll be playing the national championship tomorrow at 1230. they they won the day at and they don't beat team from four or five different countries so tomorrow they play at 1230 for the YBOE national champions championship and I told them that I think that's all this let's go back to that first thing advertising the jobs with the salary range

beginning and max or something because it's nothing on there it's just that's not a violation of the city manager authority by having that other policy that that we're asking for maybe to add it to a future gen item to be done in the future well if there is a policy I'm not aware of it but I think that is within you know one of the things within her purview

to not put their salary on.

Unless there's a policy saying otherwise. I think if she hears you all, if I'm her, I probably hear you and just say that's what I'll consider doing or something in the future. But I don't think you can necessarily, I mean, to hire staff and to deal with hiring issues, those are within the... No, I understand.

I'm just saying what they're saying, they go on the site, they see the job listing, But it's not no listing of the salary.

So maybe the manager wants to comment on that.

So thank you so much. We'll take a note. I work with human resources on the job salary range. But we have been receiving quite a few resumes for each of the positions that are listed. So we are reviewing those now. But I do hear you, and I work with the HR director.

I just want to say thank everyone that was here tonight. Glad to see, like Vice Mayor McDonald said, that they came out and that they continue to come. And that the community know that we are working to, it's disappointing that we did not get the funding that we asked for, but hopefully, I see we have a grant writing position out there, so hopefully that we'll be able to get some grants to come in and that we can at least start seeing something to happen in the city for us and that you know as the um our constituents are looking that they're seeing that you know we are serious about the business of pohokie and you know that we can start back to build those relationships and those gaps that are there so we can start to move forward and start to at least see us see something happen in the city for us and have a great night and continue to enjoy your summer and be safe thanks mayor mcdonough

So I don't like to beat a dead horse, but again, I want to thank all of you for your support with regards to this community information forum. And like I said, it's for the citizens. It's not for anything that I need to reflect on my resume, because I do have quite an extensive resume. But we do need to come together at some point and put aside the division that has existed for some time. I support each and every one of you. If I can be in attendance, whatever the city is having, I'm gonna be there. because I feel like that's my responsibility as a member of this commission here. So again, thank you all for your support. I'm looking forward to seeing each of you there. If you can be there, it would be good to see you there. And I'm sure the citizens would love to see you there as well. There's times when we have events and we're just absent. And I understand that we all have a life to live and we have responsibilities and can always be present and accounted for. But again, thank you for your support with regards to this information forum. And I look forward to seeing what we can get out, what information we can get out and better inform our citizens so that they can make informed decisions at the polls going forward.

Yes, just an update on the Parks and Recreation Board. One of the things that's going on, we know that they have the Pahokee High School reunion coming up. Currently what they are trying to do is get some volunteers to come out and just the board is around just the cosmetic work. Trying to get some volunteers to come out and help just paint the place. I think the city manager was in our last meeting. And as far as purchasing paint, I don't think it may be in her threshold. But if I'm not, I don't know if we need to make it. I don't think it'll go over that much amount if we need to get some paint to do that. You mean at MLK Park? Yes. And what they're trying to do is, what that committee is trying to do on their own is maybe, if they can get some volunteers to come in and just paint no other work, just cosmetic type stuff, and that's it.

What are they painting?

Well, you got the stones that are around and all the little things like that. And if I'm not mistaken, some of the equipment had already been previously painted a while back, and I don't think there's any that have been painted. And just to give you an update on what's going on at the next meeting, I meant to bring it tonight. I'll bring some of the agenda so y'all can see what they can discuss when I give them my reports as far as that particular committee.

Well, as the layers are. Will we be getting, do you guys have meeting minutes for you?

Yes, that's what I'm saying. I'll bring them at the end, I think. And the meetings are open. Anybody can, and they'll publish notices. that when we have the meetings and everything. Matter of fact, I think there's a schedule on there now. They meet every second, what is it?

I think it's every first Tuesday.

First Tuesday, I'm sorry, every first Tuesday of every month. And it's their schedule. If you want to come out to the meeting, I think they meet at 5 o'clock, and it's on the city webpage. And again, I want to thank the citizens for coming out tonight, and we're going to work as a family.
