This is the September the 3rd called meeting of the Paducah Planning Commission. Let's see, we'll start off with the Pledge of Allegiance, if you'll stand and join me. Tyler Simpson. Summers, would you call the roll, please?

Here. All right, we are quorumed and ready to proceed and we'll start off with the minutes. And Commissioner Heath, I believe you have the motion on that.

I do. I move that the reading of the minutes for August 3rd, 2026 be waived and the minutes of said meeting as prepared by the staff be approved as written.

Aye. Chairman Wade? Aye. We have no continued petitions. We do have a new petition regarding a text amendment and we'll start with the staff report on that.

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. This is stemming from the combining of the planning and fire prevention departments or some elements of fire prevention and the new name is going to be department of community development so there's a lot of ordinances that have to be changed that goes along with with that specifically about 170 pages in total but our part is just dealing with the zoning ordinance because as you all know as far as the zoning text it has to come before this body first with the goal of changing everything on september the 8th The text change before you today doesn't change any policies, procedures, standards, or anything like that. It's simply changing planning department to Department of Community Development. And specifically, those sections are 12671, off-street parking and loading, 12673, home occupations, 12679, qualified manufactured homes. 12683, landscape regulations. 12687, mobile food vehicles and food tents. 126-88, reasonable accommodation for recovery homes. 126-115, historical zones, H1 and H2. Section 126-120, neighborhood services zone, NSZ. 126-73, Board of Adjustment. 126-176, Planning Commission. And so with that, Mr. Chairman, I will turn it back over to you for the public hearing.

Being a change to the ordinance, it does require a public hearing. And Commissioner Benberry, I believe you have the motion to open that hearing. Yes.

I move this board open the public hearing for case TXT 2026-0007 pertaining to the revision of the Paducah zoning ordinance in its entirety to change all references of planning department to Department of Community Development.

Is there a second? Second. Moved and seconded. All in favor of opening the public hearing say aye. Aye. All opposed by like sign. Motion passes. We are in public hearing. I would ask anyone who wants to come address this to approach the podium and identify yourself and speak into the microphone. Hearing no one, is there a motion to close the public hearing.

Yes, I move that the board close the public hearing for for case T X T 2026 dash 007 pertaining to the revision of dukes zoning ordinance in its entirety to change all references of planning department to Department of community development.

There a second. Second moved and second and all in favor of closing the public hearings that signify by saying aye aye. He opposed by like sign. All right, public hearing is closed. Now we will entertain the motion to adopt the resolution. And Commissioner Benberry, I believe you also have that.

I move this commission adopt a resolution recommending to the Board of Commissioners that case TXT-2026-0007 pertaining to the text amendment regarding the Department of Community Development throughout the entirety of Paducah zoning ordinance be adopted.
