Tom, are we ready? Good evening. I would like to call the special meeting of the Board of Trustees of May 19th, 2026 to order. Would you please join the board and me in the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America?

3:12 – 3:523

okay we have a quorum i'm calling the meeting to order at 7 0 1 p.m well good evening this morning i had the distinct pleasure of engaging with both our individual and corporate residents during my second annual state of the village address here in this room I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce and especially to Dave Carlin for organizing such a successful and well-attended event. I'm hopeful that the presentation provided clarity, answered important questions, and helped address any concerns that residents and business leaders may have had. And with that, I want to move on to our only item on the agenda tonight. May I have a motion for the approval of the appointment of John Anos to fill the vacant trustee position?

3:530

So moved.

3:54 – 5:223

Second. Thank you. James Nagel was elected to the office of Village Trustee in 2021 and was subsequently re-elected in 2025 for a four-year term scheduled to expire in 2029. At the Village Board of Trustees meeting held on May 12, 2026, Trustee Nagel formally tendered his resignation effect at midnight that same evening, thereby creating a vacancy on the Village Board. I am recommending John Anos to fill the vacant trustee position. This appointment will run through the current legislative cycle, which is until May 2027, and the replacement from May 27 to May 2029 will be seated via a special election in April of 2027. Mr. Annos previously ran for Village Trustee in 2023 and was narrowly unsuccessful in that election. Since 2017, he has served as a member of the Sports Corps Advisory Committee and currently serves as its chairperson. He has played a significant role in the recent success and revitalization of the Bath and Tennis Club, as well as the continued operational success of the Oprah Golf Club. As a longtime Oprah resident, Mr. Anos brings a deep understanding of the village's history, priorities, and values. His professional experience and community involvement provide a strong foundation for public service. I believe that Mr. Anos will serve as an effective member of the village board and continue to work in the best interests of the Oprah community. At this point, I want to open it up to board discussion.

5:25 – 5:472

Trustee Manzo. I think this is a tremendous pick. I don't want to say what year John Enos moved here, but it was the year I was born, so he's a longtime Oak Brook resident. But he's a fantastic individual. He's done a great job for us. He listens, he understands our community, and I think he'll be a tremendous asset to the board.

5:483

Thank you for that. Any other comments? Okay.

5:531

I'M JUST LOOKING FOR MY NEW NEIGHBOR. WELCOME. THANK YOU.

5:583

6:113

I APPRECIATE THAT. OKAY, MELISSA.

6:150
