Uh the first item on the agenda is consider resolution R-821-0525 canvasing the returns for the city general election held on May the 3rd, 2025. All
right, we had uh 76 voters turn out in the election. Um, is there anything specific I need to do to canvas these? Just vote on it? just announced the outcome. We had 76 total voters. Uh we had 45 voters for Jackson Meyers and 31 voters for Lupy Mendoza. I'll make a motion that uh we pass the said resolution. We have a motion and a second. All those in favor say I. All opposed. Motion carries. Our next item is to administer the oath of office to the elected council members. Um, I'll do that. Okay. Before we do that, did do you guys have flag? Mayor at our our charter allows that council's first meeting after the election, the council will elect one of his members to serve as a mayor pro team. Currently, um, council member Gary Parker serves as a mayor pro team. So, it is I can select or twist this arm to continue. It's up to you. You know, we're getting ready to look at the budget and I'm not sure if we can afford another name plate. Uh oh. [Laughter] I already know. I already know how this I've been on these tracks before. I'll make a motion that we reelect Gary Parker as the mayor pro Tim. I'll second motion second. All those in favor say I. All opposed. Motion carries. Our next item is to receive the financial statement for the month ending April the 30th, 2025. Does anybody have any questions? I'll make a motion we receive that financial statement. I'll second. Mayor, uh, Council Member Mendoza, staff attended a TML Region 3 meeting, uh, back in March 27. Uh, good turnout. Uh, the Mutual Water Park scheduled to open on May the 27th, right after Memorial. Uh, the youth fishing day, the Lake M will be Saturday, June the 7th. Music in the park will follow. Uh, I believe we're looking at 1 to 5. That will be at the by the softball and baseball field on that parking area. uh moving the park schedule for the
third Thursday in June, July and possibly August depending on the school activities. Uh mayor, you're right. The budget process for the 2025 26 has begun. Uh we will have a budget work session schedule at a later date uh for y'all. And uh and I know this one's a mayor's favorite. The annual cyber security training will need to be completed by June the 15th. Uh Tamara will be sending out some additional uh information for y'all. Uh I did mine last year. Do what? I did mine last year. Last year. Okay. Unfortunately, could we just Okay, we'll change the year on it. No. Uh project updates. Uh we're still the only pro uh Main Street. Uh we're still lacking a little bit on that project. Uh pickle ball court uh contacted a company at Marlo. They're going to do the the surfacing on that for us. Uh takes a special anti slippery type deal for that. So that that is by the basketball goes right there by the swimming pool. that area, that park area. You'll see it's been fenced in. Uh there's a slab that's fenced in. Uh we're still working on lighting for that. I think the next year we'll probably do the the surfacing on that. Uh we had a solid waste inspection out at the landfill. Uh we're working with TCQ. Uh we have a large brush paw out there that we have to address. So we're working with them on that. Uh other than that, it's a good inspection. So um airport project it's on the preliminary design phases right now. It would probably be three to four months before that that's
completed and then we'll go off for bids or kind of depending on the monies from from the federal government and then the state and then us. Uh so so that's in the works as well. So, those are the capital projects that we have going other than our day-to-day stuff. Uh, that's all I have. Does any of the council have any remarks? Welcome, Judge.
