Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, and I would like tonight's moment of silence to be in memory of the 25th anniversary of 9-11 and for the fallen first responders and everyone that lost their life that day. Thank you. All right. At this time, I'll go over to the Board of Public Comment. Is there any public comment? Thanks. If there's no public comment, I'll move on to the night's consent agenda. On tonight's consent agenda, number one, approval of resolution 260909A, a resolution approving a memorandum of understanding for the joint firefighter training exercises, a mutual release and indemnification agreement with Misfit Mafia LLC. Number two, approval of the proven IT printer service lease agreement. Number three, approval of the August 26, 2026 board meeting minutes. And number four, approval of the list of bills. Mayor, just a few events happening. I just want to remind everybody. I apologize for my... but let's see if I can get this out. First of all, we start on Friday with our 9-11 memorial service, and as the mayor said, the 25th anniversary. Chief Rita, you have more on that you want to talk about when it comes by? Okay, and so it starts at 8.30, and it's a great service, a very special service this year. And on Saturday at nine o'clock, we're going to make the, Costner and Bremen Heights Park will look a little more beautiful by working with the Park District and helping them dig some holes for some trees to make the parks more beautiful, to give us some shade and help mitigate pollution and possible flooding. Every time I think of a park, I always think of a beautiful park with trees and shade, and it just makes the park more beautiful, and that's what the Midlothian Park District is doing, but they need more volunteers. They do have some, but they need more, so if you could volunteer from nine till one, Dig some holes for trees. Go to the Midlothian Park District website and please register to volunteer. I'm gonna be there to dig some holes, even though there's some Roman numerals on my birth certificate, but I think it's important. I really big support the trees to beautify Midlothian. Also, on that day, the Prince of the Midlothian Library book sale starts. from 9 to 3. You can get some really great bargains on some books, and that book sale is going to last until September 24th. Also, from 12 to 10 at St. Augustine Parish, there's a Kermes outdoor festival, and it's going to feature a lot of fantastic homemade Mexican food, dancing, and music. So you can go over there and enjoy yourself. Hope to see a lot of everybody out there. I think it's going to be a great weekend. And that's all I have, Mayor.

Thank you, sir. Just a few things this evening. First, I'd like to thank St. Augustine Parish and St. Chris School. They hosted a blue mass today. for our first responders. Our fire department and our police department all had representatives there. And it was a wonderful mass. They blessed our first responders. The children of St. Chris School actually talked about what first responders are to them. And they said they loved the prayers. So it was very nice. So it's an annual event that every year seems to be getting more and more attention. So we just want to thank them. Next, I just wanted to let everyone know that we have the resolution complete for the ITEP grant. It will be on next week's agenda for approval. This is the grant that will fund the undertaking of our pedestrian and streetscaping improvements along 147th Street from Pulaski to Springfield. This grant will help us be able to improve pedestrian safety, accessibility, connectivity, and non-motorized transportation throughout that corridor. And this will be in connection with our traffic safety study that we just worked on with CMAP. This is a big grant for us. You can get awarded up to $5 million. There is a match for the village, and the match just depends on where you qualify. So I'll have some more information about that in the next few days, but everybody should have, I believe I sent out the grant already to Dr. Clark Harris. But I just wanted everyone to be aware we will be needing to pass that resolution next week. Also, our TIF, we have moved forward with TIF 3. The public notice is in this week's messenger, and notices were sent to our taxing bodies, thanks to Deputy Clerk Harris. Our really exciting, anybody driving down 147th Street, the old councilor building is now gone. So the building was not done today. This was a huge, long process. It was made possible between the mayor and the South Suburban Land Bank. They've done a great job. Our building department did a great job of getting the demo permit processed quickly so that space is going to be turned into green space. because of flooding it will not be able to be built on, but Public Works, once they're done, they will be returning that property over to the Village and Public Works will be maintaining it going forward. So, very exciting, more dilapidated buildings coming down and hopefully in a few other spaces we're going to have some new ones going up. Other than that, last thing I have is I will start in the next few weeks talking about our Toy Tribe and Secret Santa Gene. So I know you're happy about that. Yes, I am. Too soon. It is almost October, everybody. We have to start thinking about Christmas. So that is all I have this evening.

Yes, sir. A couple things. Like Trustee Kelly said, this Friday we have a 25 year anniversary of 9-11. Do a little ceremony by the Village Greens. All are welcome. And this year is special because we're going to be joined by Bremen High School's band. We reached out to them and they're more than happy to come and play some songs. So I think that's going to be really cool and I'm looking forward to it. So hopefully everybody can come. Trying to get set up by 8-30 and trying to started around nine. So hope everybody can come to that. And then the other thing is just the, I want to thank Attorney Orr for helping with all these different liability forms and everything for this training we have coming up. Not sure how many departments we're going to get to participate, but I'm hopeful that we have a good turnout and we can all get some good training in. That's all I have tonight. Thank you, sir. Yes, sir. I just want to give a quick update about the branch pickup from those two storms we had back in the beginning of August. If I had to put a number on it, I would say we're about 90% done with the town right now. We should be done with the first round going through the town. at least once by the end of this week, and then we'll start a whole other branch pickup for anyone who put branches out a little bit later where we might have already went down the street. So we'll pick up everything hopefully within the next week, week and a half. Just to get ready for fall branch pick up again. Another thing I'd like to talk about is the lead line replacement project phase two is starting this week. So please be patient when you see all the workers out there working and if you're in the area and you've gotten a letter, please sign up. Sign up, sign up, sign up. And that's all I have. me an attorney order nothing tonight sir under my business i would like to recognize a uh milofian family the pranar family heather and alex and their two-year-old daughter charlay she also has down syndrome she's going to be recognized by the National Down Syndrome Society at the Times Square video presentation in New York City this Saturday. Her photograph was selected for more than 2,700 submissions from around the world, and she will be featured alongside 500 other individuals with Down syndrome on the giant screen in the heart of Times Square. Congratulations, Charlene. I would try to read more, but obviously that's not going to happen.

The first one is for this coming Sunday, the 13th, from noon to 10 p.m., the 149th, under block of Cattadale. and the second one is for saturday september 19th from 10 a.m to 11 p.m 145th block of springfield both forms have been signed by three residents on the block does any board member have any concerns okay deputy clerk harris will send them a letter and she'll share the details with the police and fire departments and that is all i have thank you sir i did forget to mention

The Friends of Milothian Library are doing a fundraiser in conjunction with Culver's. It's Monday, September 21st from 5 to 8 PM. It's the Culver's in Oak Forest, 5410 West 159th. 10% of all sales will be donated to the Friends of Milothian Library. Thank you for everything you do and hopefully it goes well.
