0:02Speaker 8

I don't know so much of Durita.

0:05Speaker 7

You're everywhere. Every time I see you, you're wise on what you're doing.

0:09Speaker 8

0:38Speaker 1

Hello, everyone.

0:41 – 0:52Speaker 3

You're feeling better? So, today's the second day, so it'll be a couple of more days. All right. Thank you. Good, good, good.

0:52 – 1:09Speaker 7

And then Millie says she doesn't feel well also. Whatever. Additions, corrections, and deletions. Everything's okay with this thing? Well, except for the budget. We got it. We got it. You got it? Okay.

1:09Speaker 5

No, but we need to... We need... Any additions or corrections to the minutes?

1:17Speaker 7

To the minutes?

1:18Speaker 5

Anybody? A motion to approve the minutes?

1:20Speaker 7

Yes. Motion. Thank you.

1:23Speaker 5

All in favor?

1:25Speaker 5

Any nay? Hearing no nays, pass.

1:28Speaker 7

Okay. We approve the minutes. Public comments? Is that what your mom wants to speak?

1:35Speaker 4

No. Well, she's waiting for your friend.

1:37Speaker 7

Yeah. So we'll bring it back. Okay. No public comments? No. Nobody else is on the line.

1:43Speaker 4

She's on her way. She's just running.

1:45 – 1:59Speaker 7

Okay. Presentation. We'll skip it and come back to it. Okay. Right? Okay. Treasurer report. So I said today we have 4,680 with 80 cents. Oh, that's a little bit of money.

1:59Speaker 5

Yeah, because I know last month we had $8,000. $8,977.

2:04 – 2:19Speaker 7

Hey, we spent it. $4,000. We spent $4,000? How do we spend $4,000? Hi. Hi. Hi. Yes, with you? Yes. Okay. Yeah, it's like a half.

2:19Speaker 8

Okay, I don't know what it says in the premium form.

2:26Speaker 7

But where did we spend $4,000? We don't normally spend $4,000. Yeah, $4,000. We went to the movies, but how much did the movies cost?

2:36 – 2:48Speaker 6

No, May. It was May. What did we do in May? We went to the theater. But it couldn't have been $4,000 for the theater. Can you print this for us?

2:48 – 3:05Speaker 7

Yeah, I can print this. The movies that we did it late, In the movie, money came out of them. I would pay for the cake, for the plate. It was like a $20 person, right? Oh, yeah. That's right. You see? I knew that was too pricey. The plate. That was too pricey. $4,000.

3:05Speaker 8

And also the food, I think, was around $500.

3:09Speaker 7

For the plate?

3:10Speaker 8

For the food.

3:11 – 3:27Speaker 7

For the plate. Yeah. For the plate. Yeah. That was too pricey. Yeah. I think that's how much the money went, for the plate. Because the movie doesn't, we don't spend that much money, the movie. No. How much was the movie's? We didn't have a vehicle. We didn't have a vehicle.

3:27Speaker 8

I think the tickets were... How many people went to the food? 500? No, we had 1,000. For the food?

3:33 – 3:46Speaker 7

1,000. That amount for enough people to shut up? Okay. The movie is a better deal. The play is expensive. The play is expensive. I knew it. I didn't want to go to the play.

3:46Speaker 5

Can we have another one coming up?

3:48 – 4:01Speaker 7

No, that was from... That's Rene Garcia. No, the play was the one in Miami Lake. Which was a total disaster. Okay, that was conflict. Yeah, because he's paying for the food.

4:01Speaker 5

That's not something we want to do again. The food was like $1,000, right?

4:09Speaker 4

No, $500. $500? So $3,500 were... $2,500. $2,500 were for the...

4:16 – 5:04Speaker 7

Okay, we can go back. Yeah, we'll just go back. No, we're not going back to the plate. No, we're going to go back to the presentation. right yes okay she is going to give a presentation right well i'm just going to speak to him and yes you can do it now so you can be on camera You have your supporter there. I mean, I used to go there a long time ago. They had the other league. Yes.

5:04 – 6:30Speaker 2

All right. Go ahead. My name is Nadine. I'm the yoga instructor at the town of Miami Lakes for the program in the morning. So we have classes Monday through Thursday at 7.45 to 8.45. It's a one hour class, all levels class. And we normally do Mondays and Wednesdays on the mat and Tuesdays and Thursdays on chair. So chair yoga. So even those who have limited mobility can participate and it's accessible to anyone. So I make the class accessible to people who are in great shape and people who are not so much in great shape and give modifications to make it really accessible for everyone to For people to find that peace and release stress and be able to, you know, go about their days, but start out their day with a moment of calm and peace. What can we do to make more people go to you? So what we've been realizing is that a lot of people in the town of Miami Lakes aren't aware of the program. So it's not like publicized. Like I asked them to put a poster outside. It's at Mary Collins. So I asked them to print out a poster with the times and put it outside on the billboard outside. But a lot of people aren't aware or have no idea that it's going on. So it's just getting the word out there so that any like, you know, I don't know if you guys have any form of communication with your.

6:30 – 6:42Speaker 7

Not really. The only thing and we don't have bingo this month. But in August, you're more than welcome to come in. Pass flyers out. Even get a minute and speak up and get out there and say, hey.

6:43 – 6:55Speaker 5

Let me ask questions for myself and everybody else that's online. It's at 7.30, you said? 7.45. 7.45 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

6:55 – 7:06Speaker 2

And what day were the chair? So chair yoga is Tuesday and Thursday. I love that. I used to do yoga all the time. This is at Mary Collins.

7:06Speaker 5

Right, I didn't.

7:18 – 9:29Speaker 2

Yes, we have a little break, so in August we'll have a two-week break, but then after that it's ongoing all year round. We usually close for two weeks in August and then during the holidays, around the Christmas time, but otherwise it's all year round. We normally follow the Miami-Dade school calendar holidays. So usually they're off on national holidays. But otherwise, it's always ongoing. And how long is it left? It's about an hour. Do you bring your own mat? Yes, you bring your own mat. At the community center, they have blocks and they provide yoga straps. But if you have your own, you can bring your own. But we supply that. The chairs are provided also for those who want to do chair yoga. The only thing we ask is that you bring your own mat. Yeah. And then you should work. No, whatever, whatever, like whatever, anything comfortable. It doesn't have to be. It's on your portal where you register for a lot of the children's programs are on that, um, on that, um, portal, um, where you can register, like they've, they have, uh, I think they have dance classes for seniors. I think they have other programs as well that you can register for. So that people can register on there. But even I would say, because sometimes that can, it's a little, yeah, but I always tell people come and if anybody has any issues, I take down their name and then we register for them if they need to, if anybody has any issues logging in and creating an account. So you have to log in or can you just show up? You can show up the first time. And like I said, I know the people, so I'll, you know, approach a person to get their information and then send them the link how to register. But if they have any issues, I can, we can do it for them. We just get their information down and then we, so we should just show up like probably so five minutes earlier so that. Yeah. Or you can just arrive like that when the class starts. And then at the end of class, I usually do like the signups at the end of the class. Oh, okay. Yeah.

9:30 – 9:58Speaker 1

let me let me tell you something uh she just did a special event that was great that was a sound sound breaking event yeah and it didn't have anything to do with the yoga it was something that she did on her own with all her students different type of students and it was all about relaxing and all kinds of different sounds and meditation about it it was wonderful

9:58 – 10:52Speaker 2

So I teach sound healing to people who are interested in sound healing. And what I did is I had a tour of the town to see if they would be willing to let me use the room so that my students can get some practice and offering a sound meditation to the community. It was free for the community. And yeah, so it was a one hour sound bath meditation. We were five in total. So four of my students plus me and I was leading them. And so people got to relax, really got to experience it. It was a fully immersive experience where we were walking around, like playing the bowls and the different instruments. So people really, I think people need it more than they realize it because It's when you're in those situations, you realize how stressed you were and how when you come out of there feeling so relaxed and a little bit more lighter at the end of the day.

10:53Speaker 1

Perfect. That was really wonderful.

10:55 – 11:11Speaker 2

Can you tell us the dates you said in August? The yoga program is going to be off the first two weeks of August. The first two weeks. Yes. Closed. Closed. Yes. So and then we're back after that and then back to regular schedule.

11:13Speaker 5

All right. I can tell that she's fantastic. Yes.

11:17Speaker 3

I love her. Good. And I fall asleep every time that I go to bed.

11:22 – 11:37Speaker 7

Perfect. All right. I feel like I'm getting on. Come back. Please come until you win. And you can bring all your whatever you have. Yes, yes. I'll put it on fire. And then, yeah. Yeah. Perfect. Yeah.

11:37 – 11:55Speaker 2

And also word of mouth, if you guys know people that are looking for... Do you have anything to give us? I don't have today here. I can... Hold on. I was coming straight from work. Later on, whatever. And then I can share with you guys. Thank you.

11:55Speaker 6

And to bring people... Does there were drugs not to be my only life? Nope.

12:01Speaker 2

No, not at all. Like it's open to, it's obviously a program offered by the town of Miami lakes, but even if somebody is not within the vicinity of the city, it's there, you know, we don't, we don't.

12:11Speaker 5

Is there a particular age?

12:15 – 12:56Speaker 2

Um, usually it's like, you know, any age. The only thing is children know because yoga for children is a little bit different, um, the way the class is structured, but, um, any, you know, anyone wants to join. Yeah. Any adult can enjoy. So. younger person can join older people like we have people from different age groups um you know during the school year obviously with less younger people but um yeah we can be any any age just curious uh roughly how large a crowd or a class do you have it varies like it was 30 people in the class it depends did you say 40

12:57Speaker 7

14 to, like, let's say 30 people in the class, yeah.

13:02Speaker 5

All right, now. Yeah, our next bingo is August 13th, right?

13:07Speaker 7

August 1st? 13th? And for back?

13:10Speaker 5

Next, our next bingo.

13:11Speaker 7

Next, next bingo. Next day, 13th? The next class. Oh, yeah, okay. Yeah, and that way you can compare the slides.

13:19Speaker 2

And it's not air bingo, is that our original number?

13:22 – 13:34Speaker 7

Probably 30 to, like, One o'clock. So if you can't go, maybe you can pass a virus to her. I'll be rich. I'll go with you. You know, I love it. I'll go. Just like I said, I'll go.

13:35 – 13:54Speaker 7

We can all go. I kind of missed. I've seen her at the Marathon a few times.

13:54 – 14:08Speaker 9

But the idea is for... Spread the word. Okay, to our senior committee.

14:09 – 14:20Speaker 2

To just get the word out, because what we've been noticing is that people in the community aren't aware that the class is being offered, and we just want to get the word out to people who are looking for a class.

14:20Speaker 7

You let me know, and Maria and I will go, and anybody else, we will meet you there, and then we'll go for a call. That's right. Okay, comments from me. Okay, everything seems to be rolling well.

14:30Speaker 2

Everybody's good, you know, everything, no complaints. Okay, so we'll move on.

14:35 – 15:18Speaker 7

All business, the bingo, the last bingo was great. I thought it was calm. Yes. I think people knew that it was a live single. Yes. It was very real. Yes. The movie was awesome. Everybody really liked it. It was on Michael Jackson. Oh, did you? Oh, yeah. It was great. You danced the whole time. And it stopped right before the weird. Yeah. I guess the part two, that'll come into play.

15:19Speaker 5

And so they didn't have that many commercials like the other time.

15:22 – 15:33Speaker 7

No, no. Awesome. Really? Any commercials. No. So that was great.

15:33Speaker 8

That's a big difference.

15:34 – 15:45Speaker 7

New business, no bingo this month. And the next bingo is August 13th. August what? 13th.

15:45Speaker 9

Do we have any sponsors for that date?

15:48Speaker 8

We're running out of money. You have a sponsor for that date.

15:52Speaker 8

Thank God. I don't know off the top of my head, but you have one silver sponsor.

15:57Speaker 7

How much is that silver sponsor?

15:59Speaker 7

Okay, because we only have $4,000 left until October.

16:04Speaker 9

So, I don't know what type of business.

16:07Speaker 7

It doesn't really matter. You could have two.

16:09Speaker 7

We've had it before.

16:10Speaker 5

We're not supposed to. We've had a nursing agency or whatever.

16:22Speaker 7

two healthcare people. We've had them all the time. We're not supposed to, but we do have.

16:29Speaker 9

There's kind of a conflict of interest and kind of give them the edge of...

16:34Speaker 5

Right. They don't feel special.

16:38Speaker 9

Yeah. I do have about four or five people that... And we have that guy that always wants to do it. I haven't heard from him.

16:47 – 17:02Speaker 7

He emails you all the time. He calls me driving me crazy. He emails me. I haven't heard from him. He's that attorney. No. He has a law practice. I want you to meet him. He has a law practice.

17:02Speaker 9

Is he an attorney?

17:04Speaker 7

I don't think so. He has some kind of law practice. And he can't have a law practice if he's not an attorney.

17:13Speaker 1

Those two don't... No, he's not an attorney. He does public relations for the attorney. Oh, okay.

17:19 – 17:30Speaker 7

And he's dying to do it, so we need money. The sponsor is Humana. Humana. Oh, okay. I'll call him up for him to help the sponsor. Because he died to sponsor it.

17:30Speaker 5

Or email him.

17:32 – 17:45Speaker 7

Tell him he can sponsor it. August 13th. Because we need the money. Because our theater took all her money. All our money. The theater took all our money. No. The tickets are on our floor. The play.

17:49Speaker 8

Like 50 tickets, I think $50 each. $900. And then with food, $300.

18:00Speaker 5

No, you said it was $500 for the plate.

18:02Speaker 8

I have the account details here.

18:04Speaker 5

Okay. So let's wait. Let's go through it. What was the food? The food was $300. The play was $50 times $15? The play is $8.99. That's what I have in the system.

18:20Speaker 7

$8.99. So I already paid that.

18:23 – 18:42Speaker 9

But from those $8.99, that's what we paid. Right. But remember, they gave it to us at $15. We still paid $8.99. Right. But whoever bought the ticket online, they pay $7.32. Where did that money go?

18:42Speaker 7

Yeah. Well, we have to look for it because we're going broke.

18:47Speaker 5

Yeah, that's true.

18:49Speaker 7

I'll write it down. Figure out where the money comes from.

18:54Speaker 8

Because that's not what I actually can help when I do this.

18:58 – 19:14Speaker 9

And then when it comes to the food, the receipts that I gave you should have been a total of like 200. Because I know our budget was like that. Not yet. It'll come. It'll come.

19:15Speaker 7

Yeah, but they took it off for here. You should have.

19:17Speaker 8

I sent you an email that it was ready for pickup at the front desk. I'll pick it up tomorrow. Pick it up tomorrow.

19:23Speaker 7

I'll pick it up tomorrow. So we have to get, we have your manager that's $500 and then email, what is his name?

19:27Speaker 9

I don't know. Email him.

19:28 – 19:49Speaker 7

And then to see if he can do it too. So then we have $1,000. So they have money. Okay, so now we have the actors staying for René Garcia on the 27th.

19:49Speaker 9

Correct. I have the list. Okay. What? No, this is for René, right?

19:55Speaker 7

This is the play. The play at the Coral Deep. So we're like completely full in a sense. I still get a couple of calls and texts.

20:14 – 20:34Speaker 9

You know, I said, hey, what I did say is on the 19th, like two days before, I will follow up with, like, confirm that you're not going and do a recount. Because it's been so long. Because people thought it was going to be for June.

20:35Speaker 9

Yeah. A lot of people, you know, in the confusion, people thought it was on June 22nd. It's July 22nd. So...

20:43 – 20:57Speaker 7

It's better to tell people now. And then call. But if you tell people, these people or any people, maybe they're going to say, they're going to show up and say, you told me I was going to go.

20:58 – 21:11Speaker 9

Right. The reason why I'm saying it's full because I already have that count even with those people that I said, hey, you have, there's just basically. So we should be fine. We should be fine.

21:11Speaker 6

So let me ask you, If somebody has it registered, are they meeting here? Where are they meeting? I don't remember here.

21:20Speaker 9

It's going to be here. If they did not register.

21:24 – 21:50Speaker 6

And let me have a suggestion, which is what we've done in the past is if they can't register, and you don't have to call them, they can come here. And if there's space, they let them out. Yeah. As opposed to you. Now saying, well, people are going to go, well, he picked his friends to go. Exactly. And I want to leave that out of that.

21:50Speaker 9

So we leave it at that. If I get a call late, it's going to be this day, this day, first come, first serve, if the bus is full.

21:56 – 22:39Speaker 6

No, the people that register are first. And then the people that show up that are not registered, you start putting them on a list. This one showed up first. This one's a waiting list. And then... You take the three people from the top of that list that showed up first because you don't want to take somebody that showed up an hour and a half later when this person was here and you let this one on and not this one on. So it has to be like very organized. Like the first people that get on the bus are the people that register. After that, when you came in, you had to check in and there was a list of, you know, a wait list and whoever... was number one on the wait list. If there's one spot, they get it.

22:39Speaker 7

If there's two spots, number two gets it. Okay. Movies, we wanted to go, but we don't seem to have enough money.

22:46Speaker 9

How much are the movies?

22:48Speaker 7

Better than the theater.

22:49Speaker 7

How much did we spend on the movie? Don't know. What do you mean? You paid.

22:59 – 23:10Speaker 9

I don't keep a track in my head. Let's say 60 people at $10 a person. No, it was 65 people. 65 people.

23:10Speaker 7

Do you remember how much it was?

23:12 – 23:23Speaker 9

It was in the vicinity of 65 times we had 50. But I think they're doing like $10 or $12.

23:23Speaker 7

It's not more than $12. And that money's out of here already? He doesn't know.

23:28Speaker 9

I don't know. I'm not in finance.

23:31 – 23:57Speaker 7

I think it's like a 500. I don't know. You told me it was like 500. It wasn't more than 600,000. And we said no more than 10 for the food. So if there's 50 people, then for the food, it's 65,000. So then that would make it at $650. Yeah, at $10, it would be about $650.

23:57 – 24:08Speaker 9

What I believe is like $8.50, which is the ticket plus the senior. Well, they give us two separate tickets.

24:09Speaker 7

But anyway, we only have $4,000 from here. So we really can't.

24:14Speaker 5

Wait, we're already in.

24:17Speaker 7

No, we're already in.

24:23Speaker 7

You know, yeah, July is done, honey.

24:25 – 24:43Speaker 5

July is done. Yeah, well. September. We have two months. We have two months, and we have $4,000. For sure. $2,000 and $8,000. But we have $2,000 and $2,000, but we have to pay for stuff. No, for the senior. Right. Because that senior is October 3rd.

24:43Speaker 9

So we have a date? Yeah, October 3rd.

24:48Speaker 5

Oh, and that would be with your new budget? No, right? Yes.

24:51Speaker 7

Yeah, it could be. But we have to pay for some stuff before that. We need to get sponsors.

25:00Speaker 9

No, the ones that I have, we're just waiting on a date.

25:04Speaker 8

I have the number for the theater. The tickets were $4.80 and the food was $9.88.

25:10Speaker 7

Wait, somebody do that math. $9.88 plus $9.88. $9.88.

25:19Speaker 9

For the movie theater? For the movie theater.

25:21Speaker 5

So it was $14.

25:23Speaker 8

The play, the tickets were $7.50, and the food was $3.17.

25:30Speaker 5

That's cute.

25:31 – 25:47Speaker 9

Yeah, but it's a different vibe. I agree with you. I believe the movie theater is... And we have more people. More people, more space, and it's earlier, and it was... Yeah, I think, and the play. Thank you.

25:47Speaker 7

And the play got dark.

25:49Speaker 9

It's really dark.

25:51Speaker 7

Really dark.

25:53Speaker 9

Even for me. Even for you.

25:56Speaker 7

So next time when we have money, we'll go back to the movies. I think the movie.

26:06Speaker 7

I was planning to go to the movies this month.

26:10Speaker 5

But do we have a sponsor? He says he has a bunch of sponsors.

26:13 – 26:27Speaker 9

Yes. But it's, yeah, it's just that I'm so confident. For the movie theaters, for the Michael Jackson movie, you know, Michael Jackson movie. How much money did we spend?

26:32Speaker 7

That was a lot.

26:33Speaker 9

Oh, that's a lot more than.

26:34 – 26:56Speaker 7

It was people, 65 people. With hot dogs, Coke, and soda. And popcorn. And the entrance. And the entrance. And they loved it. I loved it. Okay. You didn't go? No, I didn't go. All right. Well, we can't go anyway.

26:56 – 28:23Speaker 9

So when it comes to sponsors, even for other events, I've met with a lot of, most of them are medical offices or even there's a hospital care advantage, which is right on Hi, Aaliyah. They're considering, I give everyone these options. People, a full event, or even the presentation that they do at City Hall. So I give them three options. So the table itself is whatever it costs for the bigger. One of the things I wanted to figure out if it's for the movie theaters, Can we do sponsors? We should be able to. I mean, since we're renting the venue. But remember, we do have control of the light. You know, like the last movie, I went in and turned the light on. So we have kind of control of our time. And lighting. We, you know, it would be nice to know because we have 60 people sitting down. Before 10 minutes, 10, 15 minutes to present their product or services, I think we get our sponsorship work.

28:23Speaker 7

I'm going to have to go on to the sponsors. Right.

28:26 – 28:39Speaker 9

So that's one. I do have someone that wants to sponsor our next bingo. So I'm going to let them know we have Humana. It's a clinic. It's a hospital. It's called

28:46Speaker 4

West 16th Street. That's an office. That's a clinic. That's their executive, their administrator.

28:52Speaker 9

Yeah, but they have the first floor in the corner, right?

28:56Speaker 7

They don't want to do that? Maybe they can do... No, no.

28:59 – 29:11Speaker 9

She just texted me that they want to start with the table and figure out because I told them that they could do the whole bingo and it's going to cost them about $2,000 for the bingo. They want to do it. All bingo.

29:11Speaker 7

To pay the whole food and everything. I know that she can't. She would need to have

29:17 – 29:34Speaker 9

But she said... Yeah, but she said that right now they want to do a table. The thing is that Solis is giving them... Solis Insurance is giving them a budget and they need to allocate a budget if they lose it. So they're going to start with a table, get a feeling for it.

29:35Speaker 7

So I'm going to tell them... Maybe they can do an August-September table.

29:41Speaker 9

Right. Molina already signed up for four bingos. as well.

29:46Speaker 7

Molina is an insurance.

29:48Speaker 9

Yeah, exactly. And Molina is not an insurance.

29:51Speaker 4

It's an insurance.

29:51Speaker 9

It's an insurance.

29:53Speaker 4

So, CareVantage is a clinic probably in HMO and then Solis. And they don't sell the same products. Right.

30:02Speaker 9

CareVantage is more CareVantage is doctor's offices, clinics, and all of that. So, I might be able to get them to come for the big go.

30:11Speaker 7

Locked out? I'm sorry. Locked out of house.

30:15Speaker 7

Car keeps inside and I probably can't make it to the meeting. Don't worry. Relax.

30:21Speaker 9

Okay. So we have another company that they want.

30:28 – 30:42Speaker 5

Let's take one at a time. So these people. So we have this August one that Humana has. We can do them for September.

30:42Speaker 9

No, no. But even though Humana is there.

30:45Speaker 5

They can do the same thing.

30:46Speaker 9

We could do it. There's not really a conflict of interest.

30:50Speaker 5

But if they're going to pay $2,000.

30:54Speaker 9

No, no. Let's forget about the $2,000. They want to do the table first to figure out how it works.

31:01 – 31:25Speaker 9

At $500. Yes, yes. Eventually, I told them that they could do the whole. They could sponsor the whole event. They could have banners in the front and the back. And during the lunchtime, after the first two bingo games, I give them the mic and they could speak for five, 10 minutes. A little bit, not a lot of it. Right, right. But it kind of ends, you know, giving them their money worth.

31:26Speaker 9

So, and I told them about the food, about how it works, about the prices, about the raffles. So right now they just want to do the table for now.

31:33Speaker 7

So do they want to do August?

31:36Speaker 9

So we could get them in August, including, you know, Humana and them. Okay.

31:42Speaker 7

They got to pay...

31:46Speaker 8

So I'm going to tell them that.

31:48Speaker 7

Then we have $1,000 for that.

31:50Speaker 8

You can give me their email and then I can send them the...

31:53Speaker 7

I'll do that. Now, more?

31:58 – 32:58Speaker 9

So there's another sponsor. I met with them on Casamara yesterday. They're kind of all over the place, but they have like three different companies. One of the companies is very similar to Aflac. I think it's called, they were in the farmer's market and that's how I kind of, you know, they have a table in the farmer's market. They're selling, you know, similar to Aflac, but it's called Washington something. Their services basically is insurance that pays when the insurance doesn't pay. They want to come on board and do a sponsorship at the bingo, but also they want to do a chamber's presentation. They want to talk about something. They want to have their own hour to talk about something.

32:58Speaker 8

The only way you can do that is if they're a non-profit. You can't be a business and then I have a lecture in there. I went over this with Claire.

33:08Speaker 7

So with us or with the chamber?

33:11Speaker 8

The chamber is only for non-profits and basically we're giving lectures.

33:18Speaker 7

And us, same thing.

33:20 – 33:31Speaker 9

But how about Monsanto? When Monsanto comes, when TD Bank came and spoke about fraud and when Monsanto comes and talks about...

33:31 – 34:23Speaker 7

But they don't do that at the at the chambers. They do that here. They come out here and do it. That's fine. But at the chamber of commerce, you have to be non-profit. They don't have physical chambers, but chambers of commerce. They can come here and pick a spot and do it. One other thing that I saw that's been happening lately, and I don't understand why, I think I understand why, but I don't want to say. All these things together with us, now or not. Like I don't have something there for, I don't know, a healthcare clinic. But they weren't with us. They were with the veterans of care.

34:24Speaker 7

Which they used to be hooked up with us.

34:27Speaker 7

Something is wrong.

34:29Speaker 9

Because it's addressed to...

34:31Speaker 7

But it's really a senior.

34:33Speaker 9

To seniors, yes. I've seen that.

34:35 – 34:46Speaker 7

I need to really figure it out and call whatever's happening. But something is wrong. I don't know what it is. I can't place it yet, but I'm on it.

34:46Speaker 9

We will find out.

34:48Speaker 7

Yeah, you know this too, right? Yes. You know this too.

34:52Speaker 8

Speak with Claire about it.

34:54Speaker 7

Speak to Claire. I'll come in and speak to Claire. There are two things I want to speak to Claire about.

35:00Speaker 9

So let's say that I have

35:02 – 35:44Speaker 5

someone that comes and they want to talk about x and provide this information right they want to do it in in here right how do they go about they they reserve a date with him well are we sponsoring we have to be sponsoring that in other words right we want them to give this lecture so we would have in order for them whether we want them to give this lecture Like when we've had Mount Sinai, we say, do we want Mount Sinai to give a lecture at this place? And we all vote yes or no.

35:45Speaker 9

It's Mount Sinai paying for us? Are they paying us for it?

35:49Speaker 7

No, but they pay for everything. They pay for the food and everything.

35:53 – 36:07Speaker 9

But this is a different monster. What I'm trying to do is... This company, you want me to give you the spotlight inside City Hall so you can talk about your product. You're going to pay us.

36:07 – 36:23Speaker 7

No, it doesn't work that way. It only works that way when it's the bingo or something that's just with us. But when it's at the chambers, it's not that way. All they do is they have to be connected to us. in order not to get charged for certain things or insurance or something.

36:23Speaker 6

And we have to approve it.

36:24 – 36:36Speaker 7

And we have to approve it, which we usually do because it's good for our citizens. And then they'll come in and bring food or whatever they want to do, and that's it. But they can sponsor anything they want to sponsor.

36:37Speaker 5

But they're not going to pay us.

36:38 – 37:01Speaker 6

No, but if they're a sponsor of, for example, a bingo, they can pay $2,000, and then obviously we like them, and we're going to like them, and then we're going to say, hey. You're such a, you know, you're so much a great sponsor and you're giving a good lecture about this. This would help our seniors. Then you can speak to them. All you have to do is provide the food there.

37:02Speaker 7

Something like that you can work out.

37:04Speaker 9

But it has to be. So they need to make sure that we really like them.

37:08Speaker 7

Well, we're going to like them. And we will like them a lot. So we need to.

37:21 – 37:39Speaker 9

like university of miami has done it and then they've sponsored our bingos you know they sponsored 16 so how did they when they came and they spoke about business small business whatever they did last time they had a small business

37:40Speaker 1

That was a different thing. That was the city of Miami Lakes.

37:44 – 38:00Speaker 7

Right, that's a different, they have something to do with that university out there too. That they go out there, Tico and those people have something to do with, I don't know. Right. And they do like a workshop.

38:00Speaker 4

What is it, Abisu? No, Ana Maria. Ana Maria University.

38:05Speaker 7

That's what Paul told me, they collect their own money, they do their own thing. That has nothing to do with them.

38:09 – 38:30Speaker 9

Right. So then if I have all this, because, you know, there's a lot, a lot of people that I've come across that can just use these people, care advantage, same place. They could bring a doctor to speak about Catarata.

38:30Speaker 5

We've had it. We've had it.

38:32Speaker 9

Right. So how do we get them in there so they could speak about it?

38:36Speaker 7

Your call, like I said.

38:37Speaker 9

I'll speak with Claire.

38:39Speaker 8

I'll explain. Because I don't have the answers. Okay. You need to speak with Claire. Okay.

38:43Speaker 7

Yeah, we'll explain it to you. We're going to run out of time.

38:47 – 39:12Speaker 5

But, yeah, because we're going to run out of time. But the ones that we have always said, we're going to give you this, we are willing to give you, and sponsor this time in town hall, have always been very good sponsors of the Elder Affairs Committee. It's not like a stranger that came off the street and said, hey, you know, will you let me go stay in your house?

39:12 – 39:32Speaker 7

But it's different money and different situations. Right, from here, they don't pay. All they do is pay the food or whatever. For us, they pay. Now, can we say, well, if you do this with here, the bingo, then... You can do this. Something like that arrangement, but it's two separate things.

39:34Speaker 9

That works for me.

39:35Speaker 7

Well, good for you.

39:35Speaker 9

I'm happy. Yeah.

39:38Speaker 7

Senior Olympics. Go ahead. You got your last 15 minutes.

39:43Speaker 8

So October 3rd is the day.

39:45Speaker 5

October 3rd. Mark your calendars. We're all working. Do we have a beginning time?

39:51 – 40:06Speaker 7

It's the morning calendar. I think the morning. Yeah, early. You can go and give your yoga thing. You want me to do it? You want to read? No. Here's the time.

40:07Speaker 9

No, no. It's an outline that I made.

40:10Speaker 7

Okay. So we're going to start October 3rd. And it will be what? 7 o'clock? 7.30.

40:19Speaker 8

I'm looking at the form that I don't know.

40:25Speaker 5

Everybody will be dead.

40:29Speaker 7

Yeah. No, no, no, no.

40:34Speaker 9

This is the time. This is today. This is now.

40:39 – 40:59Speaker 3

This is the means today. I have a question. Yes. So are the social media for the town like Instagram or the calendar? Who runs that in the town? I'm asking because... Nobody.

40:59Speaker 5

No, there is somebody.

41:01Speaker 8

It's Yadalis, my co-worker. Yeah, they put social media.

41:05Speaker 5

Okay, tell her.

41:07Speaker 8

Yadalis. Yadalis.

41:11 – 41:41Speaker 3

Okay, so let me ask you, how do we... like things that we do, events and things, I don't see it on the Instagram. And you all do so much. And I'm sure you've done so much for so many years. Like, how do we get it on the Instagram at least or any social media? And also the Olympics coming up, that would be a great way to put it out there. And we have to start already.

41:41Speaker 9

Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah.

41:44Speaker 4

You have to do a save the date at least. You know her? No, I know the Miami Laker Alexandra.

41:49 – 42:01Speaker 7

No, no, no, the Lady O'Donnell. Yeah, she's really nice. Okay, then we have to speak to her. Maybe I'll come tomorrow. I want you to do a save the date. That's the first thing.

42:01Speaker 9

October 3rd puts me a month in advance. I thought we were doing it at the end of October, beginning of November.

42:12Speaker 9

Right now, I'm still, I'm processing October 3rd. It's like English. Yeah, that's why you have to do it. Yeah, of course.

42:19Speaker 4

You have to do it right now. We need to send in the next week or so a save the date at least. Save the date and let everybody know October 3rd. No, that is here tomorrow. Correct.

42:29 – 42:52Speaker 3

yeah okay it's just that i needed a date to tell them it's going to be the state so now you know also the the yoga we can put it on social media also well there you go um if you'd like i can reach out if you give me the information i'll reach out and then work with your dollies

42:55 – 43:11Speaker 8

Well, you can send it to me and then I can forward whatever you want to her. But whenever I give her information about an event, she usually posts about it on the Instagram. Okay. She posts in advance. Okay, great.

43:11Speaker 3

Maybe I can put something together and get it to you?

43:15Speaker 8

Yeah, but she makes the save the date herself.

43:18Speaker 3

Okay. But I'm saying, okay. Just call her and talk to her about it. Okay. I'll do that.

43:23Speaker 8

You don't speak to her. You speak to me and then I go to her.

43:27Speaker 7

Why don't you speak to her? She doesn't receive phone calls. Oh, okay. Then you have to call him tomorrow.

43:36Speaker 8

Okay. I'll call you. I'm the committee liaison. I liaison to the rest of the people in town.

43:44Speaker 7

That's how I do it.

43:46 – 44:01Speaker 8

bureaucracy not who will be calling everybody and just me and i connect people with so it's gonna i'm sorry it's gonna start at 7 30 right right 7 30 uh-huh what time seven i have to drop it now what time you guys

44:04Speaker 5

Oh, the last one. Oh, he said 1 p.m. 8 p.m. 8 p.m. 7. 7.

44:07Speaker 7

7. 7. 7. 7. 7. 7. 7.

44:23Speaker 5

Just to get everybody out of the park. Get everybody out of the park.

44:28Speaker 8

I don't know if we're going to be able to clear people out of the park.

44:31 – 44:42Speaker 7

No, no, no. We don't need to clear people. We're talking about when our people are finished. Yeah, we're done. We give awards or whatever we're going to do.

44:42Speaker 8

I'll refill the form and then they'll get back to us.

44:45Speaker 7

Yeah, 11 to 2 will be too hot.

44:47Speaker 5

Okay, when you say they'll get back to you, does that mean the date might change?

44:51Speaker 8

It might. Why?

44:54 – 45:11Speaker 5

That's why I'm saying this. It might change the date. Why would it change the date? Because somebody might have an event, like a party. But we don't need a building. But they may not, like they might have rented it and they don't want an event going on while they're at the party.

45:11 – 45:33Speaker 8

I think it won't change. No, it won't start. I don't think anyone's going to be there early in the morning. We need to reserve at least one. No, no pavilion. i i think it's only roberto alonso and they have not guaranteed me any fields or anything outside of roberto alonso we can do it outside in the parking lot roberto alonso right

45:45Speaker 4

So we can go there at any time. Puerto Alonso has capability. If you want to run, you can run from one end to here. They have a basketball court.

45:53Speaker 5

They have all the parking and everything.

45:55 – 46:17Speaker 4

So we can go by 7.30 and start. There's a field there. Now, wait a minute, because now I do remember something. When does soccer season start? United takes over the field. I know, Roberto, on Saturdays, they start paying. Yes, very hard. I want to get information.

46:18Speaker 5

Okay, good. Are they really that difficult to, like, talk to? No. I got to talk to their door and go, I need an answer.

46:27Speaker 7

Well, I'm coming tomorrow. I'm going to speak to Peter. If you don't have anything, then I'll come and I'll go with you to the bargain.

46:33 – 46:54Speaker 9

Okay, but that kind of threw my whole... game off because because i never i never the thing is that in my mind and in my heat my creation was always going to be veterans park because it's just there we have a a track we have a basketball everything is just so perfect we want to do it at veterans park

46:54 – 47:08Speaker 4

But if you think about it, that's where the 5K is, the reindeer theme. That's where the Gianna Vergara, Riala Vergara is. That's where all the stuff is. Yeah.

47:10Speaker 9

Yeah, it's just, we never spoke about Roberto Alonso.

47:13Speaker 7

Yeah, it's what you said. They keep giving them. Okay. All right. So we're back to the other one. Okay, listen. Okay, now.

47:19Speaker 9

Wait, let's make sure that we're all on the same page. Do we all

47:40 – 48:09Speaker 5

Maybe we should make a motion. I'll make a motion so that it's now official. That it will be at Veterans Park because it is smaller. So that's my motion. Discussion? Nothing to discuss. Any discussion? All in favor? Any nays? Hearing no nays, the motion passes. We now have to have it at because we voted on it.

48:10Speaker 8

It doesn't guarantee availability.

48:12Speaker 5

I understand. You have to fight for it. You have to fight for that. I understand that we're not going to guarantee the availability of the third. Somewhere in October.

48:21Speaker 6

Availability.

48:22 – 48:35Speaker 8

It's either October or I think there's one day in November. Then pick that one day in November. Okay.

48:35Speaker 7

Late October or the one day.

48:37Speaker 4

The problem is that late October is the whole Halloween thing and all that stuff that's happening.

48:44Speaker 9

There's only October 3rd. There's no other October. Halloween is one day. They don't use the park for three, four days or the whole month.

48:53Speaker 7

You have no idea how long it takes. Any day at that place. And tell them that we'll be there at 730 in the morning.

49:00Speaker 9

We have discussed Olympus at the... We have discussed the... I'm sorry. Look, December, November, or December.

49:16Speaker 6

Not Thanksgiving weekend.

49:18Speaker 5

Not Thanksgiving weekend.

49:21 – 49:46Speaker 7

Not Christmas weekend. Not Christmas weekend. It has to be American. It has to be American. So I'm not going to read any of that. Is there anything else? No. So we need sponsors. We need sponsors. Yes, Jackie, why are you looking like that? I'm just listening to those.

49:46 – 50:10Speaker 9

We spoke about creating a tier of sponsorship, right? Both silver and bronze. Right. We spoke about trying to figure out what we were going to charge for platinum or silver. We have the people. I just need to figure out where am I going to place them.

50:10Speaker 7

Well, we don't know until we get the date. We don't know until we get the date. We don't know until we get the date.

50:17 – 50:36Speaker 5

We don't know until we get the date. We don't know until we get the date. We don't know until we get the date. We don't know until we get the date. Probably these companies are not even... No, I'm not saying for the companies, but for how they... How the format is. How the format is.

50:36Speaker 7

And they always keep the same format. Yeah, I'm coming tomorrow.

50:40Speaker 9

This is 2008.

50:43Speaker 7

Right, so it seems to be consistent.

50:45Speaker 4

Yes, the middle and the top. Since we're live, we're looking at our screen.

50:50Speaker 5

Okay, so at the top it says, Algerian Fairs, we would like to thank our sponsors.

50:56Speaker 9

Gold Sponsored.

50:58Speaker 5

Did you have a gold sponsor there?

51:01Speaker 9

Barbara Goldman.

51:03Speaker 9

This is the other one.

51:07Speaker 1

There's three.

51:09Speaker 9

Silver sponsor, the Miami Lakers. Bronze sponsor, Miami Sports Commission.

51:16Speaker 5

But I like the way they actually named it. That they put at the top.

51:22Speaker 7

Gold. Silver.

51:28Speaker 5

Trophies and ribbons. And that way, number one, notice the font is bigger.

51:36Speaker 6

And it decreases.

51:38Speaker 7

Yeah, and that you have to get already because you're going to have to order them. Correct. You have to tell people they can start. We're going to show about the date. We're going to visit them and then give them.

51:47Speaker 9

So, yes, so money.

51:49Speaker 5

We're going to figure out how much you're going to charge for the gold for the secret.

51:53Speaker 9

So now let's.

51:54Speaker 5

So we've done it in the past.

51:55Speaker 9

So let's talk about the money.

51:57Speaker 9

Well, we don't have time.

51:59Speaker 5

We don't have time.

52:02Speaker 9

Five minutes. Five minutes. We could do it next time. We're good. We're good.

52:07Speaker 7

And now we'll set up a subcommittee. I would hate to do that.

52:15Speaker 5

But why don't we just pick a date for the subcommittee meeting now? And we pick a date for the subcommittee.

52:22Speaker 8

Okay. Do you want it next week or when do you want it?

52:25Speaker 5

When do you want it? When are you available? You're the chair.

52:29Speaker 9

I'm pretty much, yes. You can, you can, whatever works. Tuesday is fine for me. Tuesdays or Wednesdays are perfect for me.

52:39Speaker 7

Okay. Who's the one that can do Wednesday or Tuesday here? Tuesday morning I can.

52:45Speaker 7

Morning. But you can't in the evening.

52:47Speaker 7

Okay. You can't in the evening. I cannot do Tuesdays. But can you do in the evening? Tampoco. No, you cannot. Wednesday? Wednesday, yes.

52:53Speaker 5

Okay. The 15th I can't do. Next. Wednesday, I can't. I have another meeting that I have to go to.

53:01Speaker 9

But keep in mind that we could have a date for a subcommittee meeting, but if we don't have a date, we'll stay in, we're the same.

53:09 – 53:20Speaker 5

No, because we will organize the pricing. We will organize the pricing. The t-shirt. The t-shirt, like our logo, what color do we want it, but we don't want it.

53:21Speaker 7

Okay, but we don't know the color.

53:24Speaker 9

No, not that one. The one that we come up.

53:27Speaker 7

Can you do the 22nd on a Wednesday?

53:31Speaker 9

Okay, at what time?

53:33Speaker 7

At 6 o'clock. Is that good for everybody?

53:35Speaker 9

The 22nd, July 22nd is the play.

53:40Speaker 9

Oh, yes. I might be able to, you know, the play is at 4. We might get back at 5.30. Can we do the 17th?

53:53Speaker 8

That's a Friday.

53:55Speaker 3

Is everybody okay on Fridays?

53:57Speaker 4

Fridays would have to be in the mornings. Yeah, I can't do the afternoon on Friday at the 7 p.m. I have the Zanta retreat.

54:05Speaker 7
