And so if Laura Miller and anybody else from her family would like to join at the podium, we'll go down there for a proclamation. So, Laura, I'll go ahead and read the proclamation, then I'll let you explain to everyone why we're all wearing our glasses during City Council and any other comments that you'd like to make at that point in time. So whereas migraine and headache disorders affect more than 40 million Americans, approximately one in four households, and whereas an estimated four million Americans live with chronic migraine, experiencing 15 or more days of migraine pain per month, up including to 10% of school-aged children and up to 28% of adolescents, And whereas increased public awareness, improved access to care, and support for research are essential to reduce the burden of migraine and headache disorders and to improve the lives of those affected. And whereas people living with migraine disease deserve fair, equal, timely, and affordable access to new and innovative treatments to live their lives to their fullest potential. Therefore, I, Mayor Robert E. Simpson, proclaim the week of June 2026 as Migraine and Headache Awareness Month in the City of Meridian and encourage all citizens to come alongside those in our community who suffer from migraine and headache disease with support and increased awareness. This is the ninth day of June 2026. So on behalf of myself and the council, I want to present you this proclamation. Thank you for being here to help raise awareness about Migraine and Headache Awareness Month.

Hi, everyone. Thank you to Mayor Simison and the City Council for allowing me to speak tonight. My name is Laura Miller, and I'm a lifelong Idahoan, and I've lived with chronic migraine for 20 years. In the proclamation and in previous years, I've shared statistics because I believe the numbers are powerful. Tonight, I'd like to focus on what's new. There is one statistic that I do want to reiterate. Migraine is the number one cause of disability of women under age 50. That means that in Meridian, there's likely tens of thousands of women that may be living with migraine, many of them balancing careers, caregiving responsibilities, and community involvement while managing an invisible disease. So what's new? The Headache Act was introduced in Congress. It's the first standalone piece of legislation addressing headache disorders. The bipartisan legislation would improve headache research and expand access to care. I joined patients from across the country in meeting with congressional offices to advocate for the Headache Act. To bring these efforts closer to home, I recently created the Idaho Migraine Awareness and Advocacy Group, an estimated 290,000 Idahoans live with migraine, yet we don't have the kind of statewide community support network that exists in other places, and I want to change that. By providing education, resources, and community events, I hope to continue raising awareness, expanding access to care, and helping Idahoans live with migraine feel less alone. And the glasses that you see around are part of the Shades for Migraine global awareness campaign, and I am a community leader for Idaho, and so we are handing out these sunglasses just to raise awareness, because light sensitivity is one of the biggest, symptoms of migraine for people. So this kind of raises awareness, gets conversations started. And when our community is healthy and supported, we all thrive. Thank you.

Can I just congratulate you on a very successful State of the City address last week? Great turnout from the business community and from citizens of Meridian. I think your message was spot on and just want to congratulate you for that. Thought a lot about your the elements of your speech. A lot to look forward to both in this budget upcoming budget session and and for the future. So thank you for laying out the vision. I've pondered a lot though since the state of the city address. About one thing that did happen there, and it was the invocation we often talk about how Meridian is the place the right place the premier place to live work and raise a family and Mac mayor when he gave the invocation on the state of the city address Talked about how this is the right place to live work worship and raise families and And I've thought a lot about that over the last week. And Meridian truly is a great city in which to live, work, worship, and raise a family. And a lot of that is due to the leadership of you and the members of this council. So thank you.

Okay. So with that, we'll move on to item five, which is a public hearing for APEX H2026-0014. We will open this public hearing with any staff comments. No staff comments. We do have a request for a continuance on this one because of sign not being posted by the applicant.

Mr. Mayor. My understanding is it wasn't posted correctly and they are requesting a continue until till June 23rd. And if there's no other questions or comments, I move to make a motion that we continue the hearing for Apex Zenith H 2026-0014 until June 23rd of 2026.
