Mayor, do you remember what percentage of what percentage we're supposed to be giving them in comparison to other cities?

So I'm not aware that there is a set percentage. I think what they're I'm not sure where the dollar amount started and where they figure out their percentage for the previous year to the new ask. I didn't get a full budget from them this year, but it looks like somewhere between 75 and 80% of that is administrative costs.

I just want to real quick, down in Wallace, Mississippi on September 22nd, there is a public hearing on their planning commission about a change to an M1 status for one of their agricultural plots. There is a fear about that being a continuation of the expansion of SAI and other data centers and messing some stuff up down there. I just want to point out to everybody that that meeting is happening. If you'd like to make your opinion heard for Wallace and our neighbors over there to be up down there on September 22nd. I believe it starts at 6 p.m. Thank you.

So if anybody would like to do a station, a trunk station, you can just contact me and I'll give you some more information about that.

Yes, sir. I have one item. We've been in a lot of discussions on making some improvements to parks. And one of the parks that we're focusing on is Wooten Park. And one of the grants that we are looking at pursuing is the Mississippi Outdoor Stewardship Trust Fund grant. Quite a mouthful. So the MOST grant. To be competitive, it's very much encouraged for the city to offer some match funds to pursue the grant funding. So as part of that application, we would need a city resolution to commit to contributing match funds to pursue this grant. So I would like to suggest a possible motion if the board chooses to pursue this grant funding at Wooten Park, which would include some basketball courts, some new ones, resurfacing The existing court that's out there. Improvements to the trail. Improvements to the restrooms out there. I feel like I'm leaving something off. So anyway, I would like to suggest a possible motion to adopt a resolution giving me the authority to apply for the most of grant with the city matching up to $300,000.

No, we have to provide 30% of it. It's a matching grant. So based on what they give us, we have to do 30%. Whether they complete the whole project or not, we have to match the 30%.

Okay, so whether they complete it or not. Okay, so are there any other grants or anything else available that you may have played for?

We have a list of grants. This one is one of the first ones we need to apply for based on the date. But we do have different grants. We met with Dara Dixon, and we all worked together to figure out when these different grants are due and the challenges of each one, the pros and cons. So this is one we want to go after first and see what we can get from it. Thank you, Mayor.

I would like for, if I'm correct in saying this, for it not to say a percentage. I think it needs to say a dollar amount. Is that correct? I know I hear Mayor saying 30%.

How we stand on our road project and our pavement right now?

We're getting pretty close. I just rode the streets with Chris Howey in our office on all the streets that we're proposing to zero in on all the work that's involved with some of the street if we need base repairs or how many, you know, getting everything figured out in the field to make sure it translates on our plans uh we're getting pretty close to wrapping these plans up and then i'll uh provide them to billy is going to look at the striping plan so hopefully in the next week or so i can get you a set of plans and we can look at the striping um so i'm hoping to wrap everything up on the design side here in the next couple weeks and then we can put it out uh advertise it and get bids so it's it's coming soon thank you all right i'm sorry i have a question is that for all the roads or okay um that's So there's kind of two different road projects going on. We have one that's funded through the MPO that is along Church Road, Mill and Overlay. That is not talking about that project. um going through the activation process with mdot on that and so hopefully we'll hear from them soon what i was referring to was our street project that's going to include i don't know a dozen or so or more streets so it willing it is including ninety percent of the paving but there is another separate project that's not included in that so just i wanted you to know there are two separate payment projects we've got coming down so yes sir thank you i don't want me josh mr phillip in this project is this phase one so we we have decided um in the past we have done two phases that were roughly a million and a half dollars of budget uh but since we're a little bit since the lighting had kind of pushed us back we just opted to do both phases just combine it all with the budget And it all depends on how the bids come in, but estimate around $3 million into one project.
