It is 6:30. I will call the special work session for the city council of April 6th to order. Uh we do have a quorum public forum. Individuals may address the city council about items on the agenda or not included on the agenda. Speakers are required to state their name and address for this council record and limit their remarks to three minutes or fewer. Speakers are requested to frame their comments around items that fall within the authority of the city council. Generally, the city council will not take official action on the items discussed at this time, but may place the item on file, take the matter under advisement, refer the matter to staff or a committee for a future report, or direct the matter to be placed on an upcoming agenda. Does anyone wish to speak? Okay, if you would, sir, if you would just come up to the podium, please, and state your name and address for record. Hi, good evening, mayor and city council members. Uh my name is Jed Vanbol. I live at 90513 Street Southwest. I'm here with two separate petitions. Uh one is to try to stop the construction of a multif family dwelling at 901 13th Street Southwest. Um the other will be to ask for 13th Street Southwest from 5th Avenue to 10th Avenue to be paved. Also, 6th Avenue Southwest from 13th Street to 12th Street and 8th Avenue from 13th Street to 12th Street be paved as well. Um, I have 19 signatures for the petition to pave. I have 15 signatures, I believe, for the stop construction. An overwhelming number of people in the area don't want that multif family dwelling built. We've had two of them built in the last two years, uh, forplex buildings, and with that, we have had numerous calls to law enforcement on our
behalf. We've called with, um, excessive speeding and uh, reckless driving. We do foster care at our residence and we are worried that with having um other another dwelling right next to us that has all of these um units in it that we're afraid of them being um uh subject to um I'm sorry bad things like drugs and alcohol. So, um, and as far as the paving, uh, I have probably close to 70% of the people in the area that would like to get the streets paved. Um, I guess that's pretty much all I have it on that. So, thank you.
If you have those the petitions, do you want to hand those over to Greg, please? Mr. President, if I could, I also received a phone call regarding the forplexes in that area. And also, uh, I received a email from a gentleman on the same same thing.
As did I. Does anyone else wish to speak? Anyone else? Hearing none, we'll move on to bills discussion. Any discussion on the bills? hearing. None. We'll move on to the consent agenda items. Any discussion on the consent agenda? Um I No, I can bring it up when we Never mind. Go ahead. Sorry. Okay. Then we'll move on to council information only items. Uh first up is the 2025 local road improvement program, LRIP, First Street Northeast, project selection and grant acceptance. Greg.
Thank you, Mr. President. Just wanted to inform the council um that we were awarded a million dollars for our first Street Northeast project. Um as you recall, we've been going after a number of grants for that for that project. Um and we were successful on this one and hopefully we'll be successful on a couple other ones that are coming our way. So, that's good news that we were able to get uh $1 million to go towards that towards that project. Finally, that is good news. Yep.
Great news. Any other information on its constituent messages? Any constituent messages? Hearing none, then we are going to uh recess to a closed city council meeting pursuant to Minnesota State Statute 13D.05 05 subdivision 3B uh due to pending or threatened litigation and consideration of settlement agreement with Oracle America Inc. So at this time I would ask everyone to leave the council chambers.
