I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. and join me for a moment of silent prayer. Amen. Okay, we need a motion to um move our agenda. There's only actually four or five items on there, so that will be quick, but is there a motion to um to approve the agenda? All those in favor sign. I I

0:56 – 1:39Speaker 1

I motion passes. Agenda item four is the proposed property tax levy for fiscal year 2026 2027 public hearing. Correct. Very good. And I'm going to go ahead and open the public hearing. Very good. To hear from Kent. Well, we kind of This is the one of the first two uh hearings that we need to have to complete our budget. And this is just to do with uh locking in our levy, so to speak. It got published in the paper. This is the time we advertise it for. So, this is the time for citizens to speak for against it.

1:37 – 2:22Speaker 1

Um you we went over this. I kind of put a copy in front of your desk uh in front of the chair. Yep. Okay. And you'll see uh city regular tax rate. It's about threequarters of the way down all uh caps. And just so you know, obviously you know this too, but our new rate is going to be $1400581. So it goes out to the thousands, but um so it's a drop of about 45 cents uh per thousand and we discussed this and then get some the public here and we're just looking for input. Otherwise, we will uh uh set the second one here at the next meeting. So,

2:18 – 3:03Speaker 1

so um have you had anybody not contact Matt? Anybody anybody from our audience have any concerns or questions or you'll have to ask Kent, you won't ask me, but okay. Not seeing anybody with any questions. And I guess we can go ahead and close the public hearing and then we need a motion. We don't we don't need a motion because we just have to do these steps. So we will during our next meeting in about 10 minutes, we'll set the date for the full budget full budget hearing. So

3:01 – 3:42Speaker 1

one quick question. Has the county had theirs yet? They had Did they have anybody show up for No. I had I they always have to have so many mayors, school board members, da da da and that's when I supposed to have another meeting and I said I don't know if I'll be done in time because you could have zero which is what we had or you could have 50 people you don't know what's right Doug and there you were were you there you weren't there last one I was waiting yeah you were you were having fun it's important that you let your state legislators know that nobody shows up for I know it's really yeah it is really quite nobody Yes. Just just another layer that they keep adding on to this.

3:40 – 4:18Speaker 1

Yeah, it really is because it it was that I mean and then I I always try to be around because I have to go about four blocks where he's a great guy from Hayward and always drives down here, you know, and you know, for 10 minutes, you know, and they get mileage. Um Ross would never pay me mileage, but that's okay. Sure. But but that's why I always try to be around and I know Clay D Young is now the school board representative so at least there's two in town but um yeah I just didn't know there was not one soul there it just kind of

4:14 – 4:36Speaker 1

but you know when they want to but it's part of the process and and you do it and just so so that's it for that. Any other questions on that process or anything? You're right though, Doug. It we never seem to do it. So So then we need a motion to adjourn till 4:30.
