City Council - Special Meeting

They change that to a text. ahead and call to order our special called city council meeting for August 22nd. Um we'll note that uh Councilman Derek Connley is attending virtually. Hey Derek, looks like you can hear us. Um I first item on our agenda is citizen comment. I do not have any speaker cards. So, I will move on to our budget item, which is to consider an ordinance adopting the 2025 tax rate and levying said rate. Miss Angela Cohen, our director of finance.

Thank you. The tax rate will be said at 14.90 cents for debt service, 41.29 cents for operations and maintenance, totaling 56.19. This rate is the same as the prior year tax rate. The total property tax rate is higher. You'll go to the next slide is higher than the no new revenue rate at 52.95 cents. And will effectively increase property tax revenues by 6.11%. Because of the increase in revenues, a special motion must be made by council to adopt the the tax rate. Are there any questions for Miss Cohen or do I have a motion?

I move that the property tax rate be increased by the adoption of a tax rate of 56.19 cents per $100 of valuation, which effectively is a 6.11% increase in the tax rate. Thank you. Do I have a second? Thank you. All in favor, please indicate with raise of hand and I.
