Hello Kearney, I'm Colleen Doctrine and here's your flash update for the week of June 1st. Crews continue culvert repairs here at Jesse James and Mack Porter Park. These projects are necessary for ensuring proper drainage and keeping our parks in top shape for all the big events we've planned for the summer. Here's what you need to know. The right turn lane on the northbound 33 into Jesse James Park will be closed during construction. The park entrance will remain open. Don't worry, you can still get to your favorite trail or playground. We'll maintain one lane in and one lane out throughout the duration of the project. Please use extra caution when entering the park and keep an eye out for a construction cruise. Thank you for your patience as we keep Kearney's Park safe and functional. Market at the Park is this Thursday at Lyons Park. Be sure to come out and shop local from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be more than a dozen local farmers, garbage bakers, and artisans. And be sure to grab some dinner from one of the food trucks. We have a lineup of your favorite food trucks scheduled for all summer. Mark your calendars for Friday, June 12th for our first movie at the park at Lions Park featuring the SpongeBob movie. And don't forget Cleats and Beats on June 19th at Jesse James Park. Our World Cup soccer watch party. The annual Kearney Fireworks Spectacular is back at the Kearney Amphitheater on July 3rd. Be sure to come out and enjoy this year's concert featuring Shiprocked, playing your favorite yacht rock hits. There'll be bounce houses, food trucks, and of course, fireworks. The Kearney Board of Aldermen will meet on Monday, June 1st at 6.30 p.m. at Kearney City Hall. You can also live stream the meeting on our YouTube channel. And don't forget to subscribe to our e-newsletter. You can stay up to date with all things Kearney by following us on Facebook and Instagram. And be sure to check out our website at kearnymo.us. That does it for this week, Kearney. Have a great one.
