Alright. I hereby call this meeting to order. Would everyone please rise and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance? Pledge allegiance to the flag of The United States Of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation and under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you. And, I will call the, the role. Carl Mikkelsen? Here. Jared Sofkull? Here. Christine Sedenski?

1:100

Bill Burgess? Here. Mike Hughes? Here. Justin Spate?

1:150

Mike Elkins? Here. Kira Safakol? Here. And Emily Lasko?

1:201

Here. Thank

1:21 – 1:340

you very much, everybody. She we are one short here. You don't mind? Sorry. I'm getting short. Did everybody get a chance to look over the minutes from last week or last month? Sorry.

1:341

Yes. Any

1:360

issues, amendments? We have a motion to approve the minutes.

1:403

So moved.

1:410

Do I hear a second? Second. Those in favor say aye. Aye. All those opposed? Minutes are approved.

1:504

Alright.

1:54 – 2:140

Shall we start with comments from miss Valerie? No. But citizen comments, you're a citizen. You get us started. Okay. Alright. That's That's the next thing on the agenda. Okay. So you're up. So

2:17 – 2:345

Mike had asked a few questions about Veterans Day and us, obviously, we're starting to plan for that. From our nomination form, we've only received one nomination And at this

2:340

we actually all got a chance to look over that at our off-site planning meeting.

2:405

Oh, good.

2:41 – 2:520

And all of us were impressed with write up that was sent in and the nomination that was sent in. And we are definitely all in favor of moving forward with that one.

2:52 – 3:375

Alright. So I did speak with the mayor today, and and he we you know, we're figuring this all out as we go along. So as an advisory board, I can take that back and say, are advising that that's who we should Yes. Nominate. So and he will then do what he does. Perfect. Yeah. The other thing is changes to Veterans Day. Last year, we made a few significant changes not significant, a few changes. Mhmm. We took out any, you know, taps playing, all that kind of stuff. We do the flag passing ceremony at Veterans Day. We had a guest speaker last time. Now, in the past, we've done guest speakers. We've not done guest speakers.

3:37 – 4:155

My rule of thumb is if we don't try to fit a guest speaker in if we don't have a guest speaker. But if there's somebody, it is the fiftieth anniversary of the end of Vietnam. It would be wonderful if we could get somebody come to speak about Vietnam or their experience. When we say speak, we're talking five minutes. So it's not super long. We do not have budgets to pull in national speakers or anything like that. So I don't know if you guys have any suggestions of somebody local or localesque who may be a good speaker that we could reach out to.

4:170

We can definitely discuss that. I think we have somebody on the commission who might know a couple of Vietnam era veterans.

4:244

It's possible.

4:25 – 4:455

It's possible. And then the rest, we do have already the choir. Green High School, I think their acapella choir is coming. We'll have them do the national anthem. But since they are there, especially if we don't have a speaker, we'll probably have them do a few other songs. Okay. Whatever's in their rep.

14:550

Yeah. And we definitely owe a huge thank you to to Bob and his team for the support they gave us there. That was that was great.

15:013

Eric is his number two, isn't he?

15:030

Yes. Yeah.

15:04 – 15:174

Yep. And they're gonna have a meeting, October 30 at their VFW. I was gonna go to that Okay. And just relate to them that we appreciated their Perfect. Effort and help. They don't have any booze there, so I guess it's okay. Yeah.

15:19 – 15:360

They said you can go downstairs to the VFW bar, though, and you can get stuff there. Perfect. Let's see here. Any other new business from anyone? Well,

15:36 – 16:161

old business, new whatever. The Chamber of Commerce, the meeting they invited us to the meeting, so it's November 7 at 07:45 to nine in the Taroque Building. Right? Community Building? So they're more than happy to help us, so we just need our sign that we're thinking to put in the window, which Hirga's working on. You still working on it? So we'll have that to present to them, so we'll do a real quick little thing of what we're thinking and hopefully get their help to talk to the businesses in the area for that. Perfect.

16:172

What was the time for that again?

16:191

07:45 to nine on November 7.

16:223

Okay. That's in the morning. Right?

16:240

Yes. Yes. Uh-huh.

16:261

I think so.

16:272

Yeah. Yeah. They're that's usually in the morning. Yes.

16:301

Okay. Okay.

16:310

Yeah. We'll we'll coordinate and figure out who all can be present for that one.

16:37 – 16:492

Perfect. Yeah. I was talking with one of the new appointees last week about it, and he invited us to come out. He said that he would help us in any way Okay. To make sure that we can get involved with it. So

16:490

Okay. Perfect. Perfect. Mr. Elkins, did you have something?

16:59 – 17:256

Just a reminder for some of the commission members, your term expires December 31 of this year. If you wish to continue, please send a letter of interest to mayor's office, letting them know that you, wish to continue, to be considered, as a reappointee. If there is not a desire to continue, send an email, you know, to the mayor letting him know that that

17:263

A letter of interest and an email of disinterest. Is that what I'm hearing?

17:306

Yes. Letter of interest, letter of disinterest. Yes. Thank you.

17:350

Perfect. Thank you. Anything else? Yes, ma'am.

17:45 – 18:105

I gave you the wrong thing, didn't I? I did. I'm looking at him going, that's not the right thing. I'm sorry. I want to let everybody here know that on October 25, which is a Saturday morning, are we having our volunteer, breakfast and that all of you are invited and anyone in our community who's, you know, served the city as a volunteer. So that includes our boards and commissions. So I just wanted to extend that invitation to you.

18:122

I got all these

18:135

things off my desk. On the twenty fifth, October 25.

18:161

Right. What time?

18:175

Oh, I'm sorry. 9AM over at Central Park.

18:203

Perfect. Sorry. Hope to see you there. October 25. Yep. Not gonna make that one either.

18:290

Alright. Anything else? Going once, going twice? Sold. Do we have a motion to conclude our meeting for the month of October?

18:390

We have a second?

18:401

Second.

18:410

All those in favor? Aye. All those opposed? Thank you everybody for your very short time. Enjoy the rest of the month.
