7:28 – 7:410

Good afternoon everyone. Welcome to the for March 19th, 2026. It's about 3:30 p.m. like to call this meeting to order.

7:44 – 8:160

Absolutely. Alan Harold present. William Ellen, Tom Sarah, Adam Hall here, Willie Miller, Sherban Wilson here, Bill Cook present, Jeremiah King here, Darren Washington. We'll show by a vote of six present members, we do have Cororum to conduct business. Thank you very much. Scoot your arms on down.

8:13 – 8:560

That's why I said by myself. I'm be closer to him. You all have your minutes in front of you. Have a motion to approve minutes from our last meeting, February 24th, 26. Is there a second? Any discussions, corrections, none? All in favor? Any opposed? item. Next item is public hearings. We have none on the agenda today. So, we'll move.

8:53 – 9:360

We do. We do. Um, the map is a public hearing. We want to open it for public. Thank you. We're going to open We had it open the last meeting. Two meet two different meetings. Yes. So, it was open. That was zoning. We opened it as zoning. I think I think like to open the uh public hearing for the uh planning zoning department, excuse me, the map. So, if there's anybody from the public that would like to speak uh about the uh proposed res

9:44 – 10:290

I would recommend that we keep it open. until the next meeting. We don't need it. We don't need to close it today. Okay. We can leave the uh we'll open this up, leave it open until next next meeting. So, the next item is uh we should take a motion to leave. Yeah. Thank you. I'll move to the public. Thank you. Yes, we take them both. All right. Uh, let's go. Mr. Wilson, yes. Mr. Hall, yes. Mr. Cook, yes. Mr. Harold, yes. Mr. King, yes. And Mr. Sarah,

10:280

yes. So, we'll show my vote of six to zero. The public hearing has been opened and will continue to be open until the next meeting. Thank you.

10:36 – 12:250

All right. Number five, planning and zoning department update. I will turn this over to staff. Um well ultimately uh we all know that the UDO is in um council. So what we want to do now is kind of shift you know Miss Sarah is president of both boards. So we have the luxury of him already having that general understanding of the map from our meeting. But would anybody based upon you having the map taking it have any questions on the board or any suggestions or any recommendation? Um I am in the process of trying to organize at least um one full uh community meeting um so that we can have this um conversation about the map with the public um with our departments just us holistically um and kind of doing a little activity uh we don't know the date of that yet which is why we're going to leave it open but it'll give everybody opportunity to come keep forgetting it I'm looking to come and uh provide your input um before we move forward with it going to this next step. What you have today is the current um land use um and then you have the draft two so it's different your new one is different in your hand and you will get it digitally um than the one that you received previously. So, as we keep going, we'll keep getting drafts and things that nature so that we um can implement all of the corrections or the input from, you know, just constituents as well as our different boards.

12:25 – 12:440

Have you um been able to or will you be able to The existing land use map is for you specifically. Oh, okay. Is is there there's nothing that like a red line that shows which ones change. Sorry.

12:41 – 13:510

No, because if the thing is what I want to do is go through that community meeting. We get everybody the community, the board, all the departments to come through and then provide a red line so that I won't have to do um duplicate work, right? Because right now these are pretty much the same, just small changes. They are different from the existing map but I'm presuming that as we move forward and we have these conversations a lot of pieces may change based upon existing because we don't want we're not looking at proposed and so after having that last meeting a lot of people understand that this is existing. So now people are starting to relay oh that this is a business this is a business this whole area is a business instead of looking at what the comp plan proposed it to be because that's what was taking place. So now people have a general understanding of the zoning. Now we're getting better, you know, feedback of existing and how we're going to shift. So I would like the same thing from you all as well. Um, and I could provide you. My ultimate goal is to provide a red line, but that didn't happen.

13:52 – 14:350

Dr. Morgan, first of all, I'd like to thank you for the beautiful legend. This that was specifically for you. Thank you so much. That makes a big difference. And uh for the community meetings, this paper copy is nice, but I think your work is much more comprehensive. I got big billboard. I think it would be important for everybody to see this at least to see how this gets blown up. Yeah. understated.

14:37 – 15:160

Thank you. And I encourage you if you have the community. Yeah, we're probably going to have like show that to the public 38 I think it's 38 by 40s. So we'll have them um where you know they'll be posted out and on easels kind of like the postal the boards from the comp plan. So, they'll be in those size uh multitude, but we're also gonna have a pretty cool activity that'll give everybody the opportunity to interact with zoning and get an understanding of zoning. So, your map actually is going to be empty. We gonna get you some coloring pencils and some crayons. We're going to have some fun.

15:17 – 15:590

Any other questions from commissioners? Our next meeting is April the 16th. Um in this building we will be here moving forward. So pretty much won't be temporary. I just needed to see when I walked in. It's better. You guys feel comfortable more? I think this would be more less. I'm still bad Mark. That's my problem. But yeah, and to the public, welcome.

15:580

Thank you. All right. Have a motion to move. Thank you.
