All right, let's call the meeting to order. The golf commission uh let the record show that we are audio and video taping the meeting and be posted to this city's YouTube account. First item on the agenda is the approval of the minutes from the last meeting. Motion we reading the minutes and approve them as presented. Second. All in favor say I. I. I. I.

0:24 – 2:220

Anybody opposed? Um, under old business, it's just the, um, building feasibility study. There really isn't any updates at this point. Um, next item, new business update from Dan. Um, not much on my end. I have to get the letters out to the tournaments and the clubs for date selection and kind of waiting to see what was going on with the restaurant and the fees and stuff like that, but they will be sent out without any uh, requirement on that at this point. um just to get the dates and the stuff going and nothing will be tacked on after the fact. So, um you know, hopefully it gets a little warm enough and getting up there and eating all everything out and get that stuff out and get decided and uh get a schedule going. Um the only other thing is I got the numbers back from the course rating that we had last year. Um the they did drop the numbers a little bit. Um they've also given me a series of a [snorts] series of suggestions on changing the handicap aotments for the holes. Uh that I'll kind of look at. I think what's going to happen um with the reduced numbers in the course range in the course slope. Um everybody's handicap over the course of the year probably will elevate a little bit because the same numbers you shoot are going to be not as important impressive as they were last year. Um, so I make as we sit and we kind of talk about handicap stuff and the tournament and stuff. We'll take that into account as far as where we we make break lines for the divisions. Um, you know, you know, scratch, you know, we need to adjust that a little bit versus um, you know, stuff like that. Not not drastically, but maybe maybe a little bit just to kind of keep the balance a little bit. Um, you know, I I do want I do want to kind of look at more into the the handicap allocations for whole. um you know we switched over to the world handcap system um several years ago and this is part of

2:20 – 2:540

that system. Um it's based on a lot of their uh uh mathematics that I probably have no idea on how to understand on what holes they think is the most difficult for uh scratch golfers and pokey golfers. So it would kind of be just that. Um I have absolutely no idea when that last change came when they changed the whole allocations or not but it certainly was not in my time here. So, it's been a while. Um, but it was just some of the, you know, the hardest sol. I'll send it all you guys so you can read it. Jer did see it.

2:53 – 3:360

I I saw and I like looked into some of it which is some of you already know about like how they do it the two different like one system of straight numbers of like what's the hardest hole and they have that triad system where they make the middle holes heavier so the strokes hit more often in matches because if you do them at the end correct you play an actual match might be done. Um, so it wasn't a big big change and from my understanding it's still entirely up to the golf course of whether they want to take the recommendations or not. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna email the guy back to you and see you know what you know what all the courses do you do they tend to all you know they tend to all stick to those worldly handicap system um recommendations or not. Obviously it would just be a learning curve for everybody just like everything else is. So

3:33 – 4:440

So they don't go back and retro like if you played 100 rounds of gardener last year they don't adjust it. It's all moving forward. it'll stay on that course rating that course slope for that year and then they've probably already put the new course rating course slope into the into the system um for for this year coming forward um so it's reduced a little bit you probably more along the lines that where we should be I think um it's only a couple shots but you know just got dropped a little bit so won't affect too too much but other than that that's about all I have Um, last thing. Um, Amy's been working on the website. We have a new website that's up. We refreshed it. Um, I didn't even know it was up. Amy's been doing it. So, I need to go on there and test all the tea time stuff. Make sure that still works. I'm going to guess it's just embedded versus embedded and kind of go. So, you'll start seeing a bunch of emails from me going forward. All J handicap stuff people moving on. But, you know, if you guys are on the new website, you see any issues, let us know. um and kind of take care of them. Amy's been doing some of that stuff which has been

4:42 – 4:560

Yeah, both desktop and mobile. If you see something that looks off or isn't clicking to the right page, like just send me a quick email and I can a lot more knowledge on that stuff than I do. It looks great.

4:55 – 5:400

She's been doing it in minutes where it's probably would take me days. I used a lot of photos that we already had. But um I did use some stock photos as well of like just close-ups of like greens and walls and stuff, but I told Bill like once um the course opens um we'll maybe use the drone and take some overheads and even if there are like patches of grass that aren't filled in, I can put them into Photoshop and like green them a little bit. So it will keep like that over Well, no. I mean like at the beginning it's not really like vibrant. So get some good photos and then we can doctor them up a little bit. And then of course as the season goes on, anybody that takes a picture, just send it to me. If you see something cool, send it and we can upload them and make sure that the website just constantly has something visual on it.

5:390

Nice. Thank you so much. That's the end of my update. Good update.

5:44 – 6:490

Tell your update. Um we've gotten one of the five pieces of equipment already, which is kind of monumental, but um we'll probably get the next two or three over the winter. We'll probably wait into the spring for the last two. Um, but I'll just keep updating you guys as we get those. [clears throat] Two of the pieces of equipment we paid outright from the surplus. Three of them, um, the three bigger ones, more expensive ones, we're going to do over 5 years, pay it off, buying for a dollar. At the end, we own it. So, it's just a little bit quicker way to get it done. Um, continuing maintenance in the shop, the mechanics of doing that, going through literally everything this year. Um and then a little bit of tree burning out on the course where we can get to. Um we've been taking the backho out and trying to out on like three, four, and five. Try to cut some lanes where then we can get some trucks out there, but it is deep snow. Um so we're kind of picking and choosing our our lanes, but um just regular winter lanes. Any questions for Bill Dane?

6:47 – 7:320

All right, the next item is um officer voting. It's something we do every year. So, um, does anybody want to be chairman? CL second. All right. I forgot 18. Um, financial chair. Who was it? I think it was me. Nominee Dur for the financial chair. I'll second them. All in favor say I. I. I. And then secretary, you're stand.

7:29 – 7:410

I when I move I am going to stay. I don't know what needs to be done but if it needs to be done I'll do it really well too.

7:450

I'll second that. All in favor say I. I. Anybody?

7:56 – 8:360

All right. Do you have any correspondence? Um, any comments or reports? Anything? Nothing new. Mike, anything? No, I'm looking forward to playing golf soon. And And do you have anything? Um, have we uh secured a contract for the restaurant or there's any status on that? Yeah, I'm gonna be talking to Josh and Vinnie this week. Try to get that thing going on. Just thought of it. Okay, thanks. Yep. The only the only question I have is uh what about the pipe project? Is that still

8:34 – 9:410

We've met with another company. They're getting together a bid. Okay. So, they looked at before the snow, which is good. Um but obviously with this weather, nothing's going to get done until spring into into spring. Think about it. financials. So right now we got receipts of um 628,000 um expenses of 56 564 which most of these expenses are ordinary necessary. They haven't taken the money yet for the indirect cost. So, right now we're at a surplus of roughly about 64,000. Any questions on the financials? None. You just need a motion to accept. Move.

9:38 – 10:090

Second. All in favor say I. I. I. Any other thing that we haven't done yet, we haven't voted on the 2627 budget that I give you a couple months ago. Anybody had any questions on that hearing? None. And we want to make a motion to accept the budget. So moved. Second. All in favor say I. I. I. I.

10:05 – 10:320

Anybody opposed? All right. Next meeting day is going to be about February 23rd. Did you hear that yet?

10:36 – 10:480

For me. Okay. Need a motion to adjourn. So second I All right.
