All right. Next is roll call. Thank you, your honor. Mayor Lindell. That would be me and I'm here. Okay. Council member Jeff Morford here. Council member Doug Sasha here. Council member John Caper here. Council member Bill Garcia here. Council member Lauren Boyette, I am here. Council member James Parks here.
All right. Next is approval of the minutes from the January 6th meeting. Any corrections or additions? If not, I'd entertain a resolution. Your honor, I'd like to make a resolution to approve the minutes for the January 6th, 26 city council meeting. Second. All right. So, have a resolution by Jim Parker, second by John Caper, vote by roll call. That resolution carries unanimously.
All right. Next on the agenda is comments from the outgoing council members and mayor. I don't think there's any outgoing council members. So, anyway, I'd just like take this time to thank the city for the opportunity to represent them the past two years. It's been an honor. And I'd really like to thank the uh employees of the city. Uh whenever I went anywhere with them, they were always very helpful and always willing to pitch in. And plus, I think they're uh an example to be held up as far as public servants. And I also especially like to uh thank uh Chief Sharp and Brent. I mean, you guys put up with me an extra couple of meetings a month with me and whenever, excuse me, whenever I texted you, you always were right on it and got back to me and everything. So, I thought that was great. And to council, I wish you good luck. Uh, just offer this word of advice. Remember, you're a representative. You weren't elected to because you're so smart that people want you to do the thinking for them. You were elected to represent them. So, anyway, thank you very much. Okay, with that, if we could have um Judge Peters come up, we will swear in uh the new mayor, Doug Shasso.
Doug, Doug, you going to come around or? Yeah. Now, if we could have Brian Yuri, John Caper, and James Parks come forward, we'll do the oath of office for the new council members. Stick grenade. Stick. Yeah, I know. That's me, too. I remember. If you remember.
Oh, I remember how I got Hallelujah. All right.
Congrats. years.
Here we go. Huh? You don't want your own seat. Doug, I'll now turn the meeting over to you. All right. Thanks, Brent. All right. Miss Curtis, roll call, please. Honorable Mayor Sasha, here. Council member Jeff Morford here. Council member Brian Erdriales here. Council member John Caper here. Council member Bill Garcia here. Council member Lauren Voyette here. Council member James Parks here. All righty. Next on the agenda, presentation of possible action on the affirm of the vote for the fire department. Dylan Post.
Okay. I'll uh just hit on the resolution that you have in front of you. Uh we have one of these situations where the way the fire department works is they do an election to decide who they want their chief to be. You guys because this is an appointed position have to affirm that vote of the fire department. So in front of you tonight there's a resolution spelling out that the fact that the fire department has voted in Dylan Pose to be the next chief. And so I'd be happy to answer any questions. All right. Entertainment roll call for a resolution, please. Your honor, I'll make a resolution to approve the vote of fire department and ratify the appointment of Dylan Post as a fire chief for the city of Fort Morgan. Second.
Uh resolution made by Caper and a second by Parks. Parks. Roll call, please.
That resolution carries unanimously. All righty. Get to swear at Dylan now. All right. Here we go.
Give me a good start. Good start. Here we go. All right. All right. Agenda. Any comments from Councilman, your Dallas Caper or Mr. Parks? I'd just like to thank uh the opportunity for representing the city of Fort Morgan. Um, I've enjoyed being able to do that in the past and I look forward to serving for another four years to be a voice for the people. Thank you.
Um, I just have to say it's it's good to be back. Um, I want to thank Jenny for letting me do this. Um, I went through a couple campaigns and before I did this, I said I had to check with her first. So, after we spoke, I'm I'm glad to be back. Um, I want to thank my constituents. I'm going to do my best job to take care of them and the entire city of Fort Morgan. Um, I think everybody here has at least two years knowledge right now, so I feel like we can hit the ground running and do a good job for the city. So, thank you everyone. Jim, I just thank people in W three and I'm excited to get going.
All right. I'd like to say thanks to my my kids, my wife. It's been kind of a rough go here and um anyway, it was fun and I mostly want to thank the city of Fort Morgan for giving me this opportunity to serve you again as your mayor this time. And uh other than that, ready to get going. Uh next one, uh the appointment of council members to staff and various city boards. I guess that's me. Um, Brent told me I need to read this to y'all. So, airport advisory board is Shasso. CML policy review is nation. Fireman pension board is Shasso. Water owner design is nation. Uh, Fort Morgan Heritage Foundation is Morford. Golf Course Advisory Board is your Dallas. Historical preservation is Boyette. Library Advisory Board is Parks. Morgan County Tourism Panel Sandy. Uh police pension board shasso senior center advisory board is caper and water advisory board is Garcia. Guys have got any questions? Any want to change it now? All righty. Seeing none, we'll move on to the next one. We don't need anything for that, do we?
No. Okay. Nope. We're good. All right. Presentation of possible lash on confirming the appointments of the city manager, Mr. ation. Okay. You have a resolution in front of you. This is actually um one large resolution that uh confirms the appointments of myself as the city manager. Uh the Wilson William Feldman Dipman as the city attorney service provider, uh Lauren Sharp as the chief of police, Charles Peters as a municipal judge, and Kelly Hansen as the deputy municipal judge. And so we we do this in in one action on all of those. So happy to answer any questions.
See no questions. I'll entertain a resolution. Your honor, I'll offer a resolution confirming the appointment of the city manager, Brent Nation, city attorney and law firm, Jeff Wilson. Police Chief Lauren Sharp, Municipal Judge, and Deputy Municipal Judge, and approving extensions on their contracts with the city manager, police chief, and municipal judge. Second. Had a resolution by Councilman Park, seconded by Jeff Morford. Bill. Oh, was it Bill? Okay. Roll call. That resolution carries unanimously.
All righty. Uh, next one. Uh, presentation and council communication memos for the appointed officials, city manager, city attorney, police chief, and fire chief.
Yeah, I can handle that one. You have in your packet tonight, you have a memo from each of us that are appointed officials to the council. Uh, this is just a formality that we go through to just kind of give you the groundworks for what we anticipate should be the proper lines of communication to us as appointed officials. And so those are provided after each election to the elected officials. So, uh, we'd be happy to answer any questions. We're all here except for maybe the fire chief. Now, no questions. All right. Next on the agenda, presentation of possible action on a resolution designating the city official posting site for posting notices. Miss Curtis.
Thank you, your honor. This is just a um not a yearly, but it is a yearly. Sorry. It's a measure approved of each council organizational meeting that designates the posting places. Um, and the bulletin board in the city lobby is or the public notices of council meetings and other official events. And then the legal notices that require publication are posted on the city website, the city of Fort Morgan website under legal notices. Okay. Any questions? Uh, entertain a resolution. Offer a resolution designating the city's official posting site as presented.
Second. Resolution by Morford and a second by Parks. Roll call, please. That resolution carries unanimously. All right. Next one. Presentation and possible action on a resolution concerning the establishment and operation of the city bank accounts. Mr. Nation.
Okay. Okay. Well, now that we have new officials sitting up here, we have to change the the banking resolution. So, this is exactly the same resolution that you had in front of you or most of you did um earlier or later in 2025. Uh just designate who signs on what accounts. Um I did get one question um about this and why it's so complex on some levels. Um, part of that has to do with um, just segregation of the finances of the city of Fort Morgan. I sleep better at night knowing that I don't have access to all of the accounts and all the money of the city because it's been designated and segregated in certain fashions. Our auditors expect this of us. And so that's why certain people have certain signature powers on certain accounts and other people do not. And so when you read through this, this is just the standard language that we use and it just designates who has the ability to sign on certain things when we need to move money around or things have to be paid. So, um, like I said, it's the same resolution. We've just now updated it for the new mayor, basically is what we've had to do.
All righty. Any questions? Entertain a resolution. Your honor, I'd like to make a resolution concerning the establishment and operation of city bank accounts. Second. And a resolution by Councilman Park, seconded by Morford. Yeah. Roll call, please. That resolution carries unanimously. All right. Anything from the back? Anything from the audience? Right. This meeting is ajourned. Let's go eat. Okay. I have to lock up the
