City Council - Regular Meeting

I'm going to call the meeting, special meeting of the Essex Junction City Council to order for Tuesday, 28th. Any agenda additions or changes? None from me.

Okay. Public to be heard? Do not see anybody online and there's nobody here with us. So we'll just move to 5A, which is discussion and consideration of the application for extension to file the grant list.

So you've got a memo in your packet. It essentially describes that we are recommending that we seek a 60-day extension to file the grant list. The assessor's office got about 400 grievance requests, and they are working through those, but they will need some time to follow up and get decisions out on those. So if we can get everything done earlier than 60 days, great, but we're putting in the request for recommending that you approve this request for 60 days. From the state's office, they advise that this is fairly common practice for folks and is a normal part of the process for the reappraisal. So you've got the... application attached as well. It's just a very simple form. And as everybody knows, our assessing office is with the town of Essex. They are also doing this free appraisal and the select board approved the same extension request and consent last night. Any questions?
