Mr. Mayor, it's time.

I'd like to call this special meeting toward our 5 to 5.30 PM. Roll call, please.

thank you um miss pedro's excuse only mr acosta was excused too he sent the email right and mr shelton didn't hear from him but um uh item if if there's an excuse from him we can excuse him the next item three persons wishing to address the council in writing or verbally on any item not on the agenda do we have anyone Item number four, discussion decision on approval. Item A, resolution number 26-1744, resolution of the Mayor and Council of the City of Douglas-Pochase County, Arizona, declaring and adopting the results of the primary election held on July 21st, 2026. This is your time, Mrs. Dantrale.

Thank you, Mr. Mayor, members of the Council. Pursuant to Article 9, Section 14 of the City Charter, the election results are being declared and canvassed. within seven days after the primary election held on January 21st, 2026. The official results issued by the Cochise County. The official results issued by the Cochise County Elections Department are included as part of the resolution for your review and final adoption in accordance with the city charter. As follows, council member for Ward 2 elected Jose Montano with 195 votes. Council member for Ward 3, Susan Kramer with 202. Council member for Ward 4, Jesus Davidson with 196. Council member for Ward 5, Maria Terry Dillman with 144. Council member for Ward 6, Pablo Galindo with 136. And we also had a write-in candidate, Emilia Michelle Cruz with 14 votes. It is hereby found and determined and declared off record that the following candidates did receive a majority of the votes cast for the office of the council member for each respective ward and is hereby issued a certificate of election. And those members, newly elected members, will be Samanthaño, Susan Kramer, Jesus Davidson, Maria Terry Dillman, and Pablo Galindo. The Council members will be sworn in at the regular Council meeting on December 9, 2026. The exact figures of the election cost are not available at this time. Information can be provided at a later time once the Elections Department submits that to our office. The Cochise County Elections Department will be canvassing their results this coming Thursday, July 30th. And I can entertain any questions that you may have.

I'm not going to take up your time when you talk. I just want to say congratulations, especially the newbies, because you all are moving way too quick before even going into office, already taking notes, taking lists, having mariachi festivals. What are you guys going to do for the next four years in your term when you guys are already doing everything? But no, we're very excited, and I'm glad to see those numbers up. Every year it seems like we're getting more people out to vote, so can't wait to hit the ground running. Any other discussion?

I just want to congratulate you all as well. It'll be a pleasure working with all of you. Congratulate yourself too.

I want to say thank you to everybody, to all the people who trust me. And then I'm going to do a good job and work hard. That's for last.

I want to thank the city of Douglas and all the people of Douglas for going out to vote. And I'm excited for the next four years and look forward to working with all of you.

I wasn't planning on this, but I want to thank everybody. I want to thank the citizens of my ward for that continued support. And we will continue to make Douglas better.

I wanna thank everyone that came out and voted and for the right candidates that they felt was right in their hearts. And I'd like to see as each time we vote that more people come out and vote. I am grateful for being able to continue in this position so that I could keep helping Douglas and seeing it get better and better. And I am looking forward to all of us working together and thank you to everyone.
