We sadly gather today to fill the health officer's position of the late Dr. Peterson, who passed away late last night. He held this position for quite a few years.

I think it'd be appropriate for Jamie to come up to the podium.

Good afternoon, commissioners. Yeah, Dr. Peterson had served on our health board for going on 34 years and was our health officer for the past year.

I knew he had served for some time. I had no idea it was 34.

Yeah, he has a long and lasting impact. There's stories just flooding social media today of the different families that he's delivered their children, delivered them, healed them, served them in any different way. And it's kind of an unknown to the public that he served our community as a board member for so many years.

So you also had an emergency meeting today as well, correct?

Yes, sir. We held an emergency meeting of the Board of Health at 12 o'clock today to name an interim health officer. Had a unanimous vote to name Dr. David Brand as our interim health officer.

So with that being said, correct me if I'm wrong, Danielle, we need to then vote to approve that recommendation, correct? Correct. Okay. I'll make a motion that we approve the appointment of Dr. Brand for the Delaware County Health Officer.
