with all the different people. And, you know, it is just wonderful to kind of see that. That also promotes a much safer community and everything and people that know their neighbors and breaking down some of those barriers that can tend to build up. And so it was a very nice night. And that's all I got. All right. Sounds good. Council Member Garza.

Thank you, Mayor. Well, I, too, had an amazing evening last night. I had the unique opportunity of actually going to several of the community events that were around, but my family also hosted one. So we had 60 servings of food, and we had nothing left. So that was an amazing opportunity to get to know our neighbors. We had a lot of new visitors there. So Night to Unite was just such a fun time. And it comes in with what we do here in Cottage Grove. So tomorrow is our food truck here at City Hall. And it's another opportunity for you to come up, talk to our neighbors, and have some good food. We definitely have great food around the city, especially during the summertime. There's always food trucks here. And speaking of food trucks, we do have our food truck festival that will be coming up. So I hope to see you all there September 19th. I actually will be at the liquor band sale stand. So I'll be there for a few hours. So come by, say hi. All right. Sounds good. Yeah, the wristbands.

The wristband. All right. All right, so just one thing for me I just wanted to share, as many are aware and I mentioned a little bit earlier. I ended up having surgery at the beginning of July, and you can see I'm finally back here. I'm sitting here at my first meeting. I want to first of all thank my Mayor Pro Tem, Justin Olsen, Council Member Brilson, for taking over for me while I was out. It was funny, one thing I will share with you was absolutely unbelievable yesterday. So all the parties, whether it was the noon outs at the senior facilities, or walking through all the different neighborhood parties, I didn't realize I was news because not, I mean, when I say there was every single person asked me how my back was. It is. It's pretty cool. But I'm like, man, I didn't realize I was news. But I do know it was in the paper. But that was not by me. That wasn't my desire. But I just want to say thank you. Because the number of people that have reached out to me, outpouring of support, cards, flowers, was absolutely overwhelming in a real, real neat way. Or the fact that some of our staff here was making sure I wasn't carrying anything too heavy yesterday or at all. But the fact of the matter is I'm still working through some recovery. But as you can see, I'm here and I'm feeling much better than I did before. And hopefully the recovery continues and I'll be back where I can actually golf in all these golf tournaments in the future. So I just want to thank everybody for that and our staff and all the residents of Cottage Grove for thinking of me over the last month or so. So with that, the next items I'll just share with you is we do have a workshop, which is open to the public. We have three things that we're going to be discussing in our workshop, which will be in our training room. The first one is 80th Street and East Point Douglas Road Rehabilitation Project Banners, kind of an interesting thing that we'll be reviewing. I think you're going to love it when you finally see it. And then we're going to also be talking about our draft 2027 to 2031 capital improvements plan. And then our third item we're going to be discussing or talking about is the local sales tax, something that we're going to be doing or looking or discussing for the future. There is no workshop that's closed to the public, so we won't be adjourning in here. So, Council, we'll meet in a few minutes in the training room with staff. Have a good evening, everyone.
