Board and Commission - Regular Meeting

All right, well, welcome, everyone, to the August 25th Community Design Commission meeting. I'm Vice Chair Kim Hans, and Patrick is not here with us tonight. He had an engagement, so he's not going to be here, so I'm going to do my best to try to run this meeting appropriately. It should be pretty quick and to the point, so I'll just start with opening up with a roll call. So you can raise your hand or say here. So Patrick is off. So Kelsey Brinkley. I'm here. Hey, thank you. Jim Theron.

Present. And I would like to welcome a new committee member, which is Rachel Tshabe. Did I say that correctly? Yes. I don't know if she left or not.

It looks like her mic and camera are muted. Hold on. I'm going to hit allow mic. Let's see if in, I'm going to allow camera and we'll see what happens. She was on earlier. Let's circle back. You want to get the rest of the folks and then.

Hey, Rachel, did I... Hey, how are you doing? So, Kelsey, do you always have to let me in? Because I think someone over there is controlling whether I'm in or out.

I have no idea. I just saw that you had, like, an X through your microphone, so I was like, I'm going to try to turn her on.

Okay. Okay. So... We just wanted to welcome Rachel. So Rachel, Dr. Tshabe, am I pronouncing that correctly? Okay, well, welcome to the commission. We're glad to have you. We have a very short agenda. So we've met quorum. John is hopefully going to be coming in. So I just wanted to do the roll call. So we've done that. And can I have a motion to approve the current agenda?

I motion to approve the agenda.

Okay, do I get a second? I'll second it. Okay, thank you, Jim. And we only have one thing on the agenda tonight, which is new business, which is... Do we need to approve the meeting minutes from last meeting? Oh, yeah, we can do that.

Great, thank you, Jim. Okay. So I just, we only have one new business on the agenda for tonight, which is Christ Community Church, which we have some representatives here. I wanted to propose that we just move this to the consent agenda, unless anybody has any questions about it.

I motion to move this to the consent agenda.

Okay. Thank you, Jim. And Alex, I just want to make sure that I'm doing this properly because this is my first time filling in. So at this point, do I just ask for a motion to approve the consent agenda? Yes. Kelsey, you probably know. Okay. So do I have a motion to approve the consent agenda for Christ Community Church?

I motion to approve the consent agenda. And I'm hoping James will help us out there.

on the second okay and rachel this is a pretty short meeting so it was a not a real involved one um coming on for the first but um unless you had any questions for members of the christ community church we'll just move to approve the elevation set i reviewed it i'm okay with it okay wonderful okay Well, at this point, I feel like we're kind of done with the meeting. This was pretty fast. Does anybody want to make a motion to, I guess, do we make a motion to close the meeting, Alex? Kelsey, you've been doing this longer than me, so I can't remember how we end or if we have to make a motion or not.

I don't think we do. I honestly don't think so, but I think we are good. We've consented to the elevation change. Kim, A+, thanks for leading us today.
