This one is kind of like almost like the miscellaneous catching everything. Everybody who wasn't named yet is liable. Hopefully this might be one of the last ones last, you know. I think they're calling these defendants the remnant defendants. So hopefully this is the sounds like a description of remnant sound. Yeah. So hopefully this is it. I mean I say hopefully just because it's restricted funds and I know it got to be creative in how you spend it.

He's ready to start whenever we get everything through. So, we'll be glad to have that. That's a cheaper cost than we've had in the past the last few years. So, hopefully everything works out. This is a two-year contract. Two year. Great. Yeah. I read the big Harrisonville Nate or lives here in Harrisonville. So, yep. I talked to people and they're going to bring three people in plus an extra person to do the weedy. He thinks they handle it. Four to five hours. Easy. Get in, get it done, get going.
You did a walk around with him. Showed him. Yep. The whole thing. Explained everything. Explained to him, give you a couple times to screw up and then we'll make other arrangements. I was going to say you got the the Bobby Claws in there, right? also move that. Okay, I'll ask for vote. All in favor? Two votes for zero against. Motion carries. Okay. For the record, Cass County Commission, the Cass County Commission Association Certificate of Training, Bob Houston, Mike Morland, and Jeff Fletcher. So, that will be entered into the record.
We're educated. We have our mandatory training a couple weeks ago down at the lake. So very good. Another for the record, the Cass County Collector's Office form 205, the collector's annual settlement. Chris, you have the floor.
Good afternoon. Every year, uh, county collectors are required by law to file the 205 form, uh, which Kathy the clerk's office will do for us. And I want to thank her for all her good help and my chief deputy, Lori, for we do this actually every month. We settle every month and so it's easier at the end of the year to do our tax return. But we collect for 91 entities and the state of Missouri. We dispersed last year $215.8 8 million. That is a record. Uh we've never had this many pieces of real estate, this many parcels, as you know, with all the lot splits that are going on right now. And uh the the line of people out the door to get waiverss for personal property accounts has never been longer. So uh this number is up uh from last year. The largest recipient are the 14 public school districts in Cass County. They received $142.4 4 million, 66% of total dispersements go to 14 public schools. And so it is certainly the vast majority of the taxes we collect and disperse. Anybody have any questions about the return?
No, sounds good. Thank you. Thank you, Chris. Thank you, Chris.
Okay. Okay. For the record, the Cascade Treasures Office 2025 financial statement. Yes. That every year we need to publish in a newspaper in the county. The U preceding year's financial statement that just shows beginning balances, receipts, expenditures, and ending balances. shows debt that we still have on our bonds, sales tax rates, information like that. And simply the requirement being being met for that and I don't think it's actually due to the newspaper till the end of June. They extended that a couple years ago, but uh we're in good shape. So plenty of time to get in the paper.
Very good. Okay. Public comment.
Good afternoon. Again, this is a reminder that the Cass County Senior Citizen Property Tax Program open enrollment for new applicants will begin on Monday, April 13th and will last until July 2nd. So, our seniors have Medicare and have Medicare Advantage plans. They have an open enrollment in the fall. Um, we're going to have open enrollment for the property tax credit in the spring and that is my goal as long as I'm a collector to be to be able to offer an open enrollment for new applicants. Those folks need to be 62 years old legally responsible for the payment of property taxes of their home, a home that is their homestead, not investment property, not commercial property, but a homestead. Uh, we would need a photo ID and a utility bill. will be open uh each day with a clerk dedicated at the second window just for seniors from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. So, we would ask those seniors not to come first thing in the morning. And then there's so many folks racing to the license bureau after work, we're asking them not to come after 4:00. So, middle of the day, 10 to 3, 3:30, we will have window 2 open for any new senior. And as a reminder, for those seniors already enrolled in the program, they no longer have to complete an application. They do not have to fill out a postcard. They do not have to make a phone call. They do not have to come to my office. Once enrolled, it's continuous until cancelled. We now have access to the national death file. Uh and also are able to take a look at those deed transfers on a daily basis. So, we can reference our spreadsheet and remove those households accordingly. So, open enrollment, new applicants, 9:00 a.m. beginning April 13th.
Thank you. Okay. Thank you, Chris. Any other public comment? Close public comment. Commissioner communication. Did have one one call from gentleman that lived on Lover's Lane when they closed the Flow Water Crossing. So, I think we got that talked out, but we did talk about that. So, yes. Okay. I'll ask for a motion for adjournment. Motion to adjourn. Second. All in favor? We're jerk.
