Good evening. Welcome to another Carson Planning Commission meeting. Thank you for joining us this evening. This meeting is officially called to order. There's my gavel.

Meeting is officially called to order, and we will begin as I get all of my things together here. In just one minute, we will begin. But before we begin, I want to, just make an announcement to our viewing audience, that we have a new system in place. And we wanna say yay to the IT department of the city of Carson. So we're all excited about this new system, and is this will be our first time using it tonight.

So please bear with us or enjoy and chuckle if you must at the mistakes we may make, but we will get through this meeting. So thank you for joining us, and let's see. What's the first thing we have on here? Okay here we go. Alright madam secretary roll call please.

Like I said, we've got some things that have changed here, but we're gonna get get to it because I know it was printed up for me, and I've got it right here. A resolution of the planning commission of the city of Carson make a finding of applicability of CEQA guidelines section one five zero six one b three delegating approval authority for certain density bonus applications to the city's community development director with the concurrence of the city manager. And now you may cast your votes. Madam secretary, will you report out the vote?

Madam chair, just briefly, we are knee deep in recruitment for the director position. Good pool of applicants so far. So as we get closer to selection, I'll be sure to clue in the rest of the commission on next steps. Other than that, not much more. I did have the pleasure of attending the Juneteenth celebration the other week, and great great event. Always a good partnership with CCCAF and other partners that are on that. Wanna thank all the commissioners who could attend as well. Always a good good fun experience each year. So other than that, we have nothing else to report. It is it's been quiet for the moment, but I'll defer to manager as well. Thank you.

Thank you, doctor Lennox. I want to share with the commission that on this Thursday, we're having a phase two zoning code update public engagement workshop that we've sent out our email to all those persons that reached out as interested parties to share what the phase two update is about. And this is primarily an educational opportunity as well as getting, input from the community. And we're talking about residents, business owners, property owners, and so forth. The focus of phase two, zoning code update is industrial, commercial, flex district, and some other related planning items.

So, we're looking forward to continuing this engagement with the public and want to make sure that, you can be our our, user network to share the information, and we would greatly appreciate that. Thank you.

Thank you, madam chair. I'm just kinda curious if any applicants, and maybe doctor Lennox could provide a response, to take over the position that you are now recruiting. Have any any of them been from the city of Carson? Do they reside in Carson? I was just kind of curious if you could divulge that information.

I'd I'd probably defer to an offline conversation. I'd be happy to kind of walk through some of those those with you.

Good evening, everybody. It's always good to learn new things, and one of them is our new system. And so I would like to give appreciation to the IT in putting up this new system, which I believe will be very effective and efficiently done. So we are learning and we ask for your patience. Well, worldwide I mean, globally, I need to express my concern about what's going on, you know, internationally with the threat of war, etcetera.

But we are people who believe in, I would say, hope for everybody. So I just wish to share that, that we as a people should be internally on our own way, put hope and, I would say, for world peace. Thank you. I'm complete.

Good evening, everyone. I just want to say it's an honor to serve. Thank you to the IT department and, the staff here, city staff. You guys are amazing. And to my illustrious commission members, thank you. You guys do an awesome job.

I have no report this evening, but I also wanna, thank, the IT, folks here who helped us, through this process, who gave us some mock training yesterday, as well as our planning commission staff that's always very responsive and prepares our packet informations timely on basis so that we can review it and be prepared for these meetings. So thank you very much. Job well done. And to my colleagues, thank you for, your participation as well. I'm complete.

Everybody is so gracious. Alright. Thank you for mentioning the Juneteenth. It was an incredible event. It was so well attended. So many people, went off without a hitch. We're always prayerful, before we enter into these events and thankful after we've completed them. So needed to get some rest after that because it was a very long day in addition to the planning time. But, on behalf of as serving as president of CCCAF, we wanna thank the city, the city council, all of the staff. It is an amazing thing to work here in the city of Carson.

It is truly a family atmosphere, sometimes dysfunctional as families can be, but most of the time, it's the best. So everyone is to be commended for whatever part they took even if you simply attended. You'd be commended for, stepping up, showing up, showing out. We're thankful for that. This commission is awesome.

Thank you all of those of you who are part of it and take time to volunteer in the city in this way and to the staff. So with that, this has to be the fastest meeting we've had.
