Planning Commission - Regular Meeting

Okay, we will call to order the Planning Commission meeting for Tuesday, January the 16th. Welcome to everyone watching virtually and to the throngs of people that are here in these council chambers. We're glad to have you. Madam Secretary, will you please call the roll?

Okay, thank you. I'd like now to ask everyone to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, which, because I didn't ask, I will lead. Stand over your heart and pledge.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Okay, moving swiftly along. Next item on the agenda is the consent calendar. Are there any questions or comments from the commissioners? Seeing none, may I have a motion?

Yes. Okay, motion passes. We'll move swiftly along. Next item on the agenda is public comment. This is for items not on the agenda tonight. And seeing no one has turned in any cards or is waving their hands wildly to speak, we will take it that there are no public comments tonight. So we will now move on to the director's report. So Director Calvert, please. The mic is yours.

Good evening, Chair and Commissioners. I know we will have a very short night tonight, as it seems, and so is our first meeting, but I cannot guarantee you the same thing on June 30th. We will have a little bit of a heavier agenda. We're going to go over the Climate Action Plan again, and we're going to bring forth the principles for the general plan. So a little bit of a heavier agenda, but big, important items. One other thing I want to mention real quick, I didn't get a chance to, I don't think we had won the award by then, but we recently won the Central Coast APA, American Planning Association Award of Excellence for the Vista Campanario project. So I like to acknowledge that and that our team here at Community Development and the staff that put in all the effort and work, I can't lay any claim to that. That happened way before I got here, but excellent work by the team and just really embodies the great work that they do.

Not this evening. Other than it's nice to be back and see everybody, and I guess we'll be looking forward to a lot more reading in a couple weeks.
