The appointment is effective immediately.

I'm Rose Drain. I live at 228 East Court Street. And because some of the council members weren't here for the public hearing that happened at 6 p.m., I'm back up here to reiterate that I support the legislation introduced by Councilman Harold and Dennis because... When we worked so hard on the rewrite of the zoning code in 2023, we understood that ADUs required owner occupancy and that one of the units of the ADU, either the main structure or the ADU, would be owner-occupied. And so I hope that the rest of you will consider that a lot of people in Bowling Green put a lot of time into advocating for the zoning code rewrite and the changes that BG, what became BG sung. 650 people nearly signed the petition for council people to come to a compromise with us. And we firmly believed and understood that what the law was going to follow was the requirement for owner occupancy. So I hope that Those of you for whom I don't know what your votes are. I I hope that you will consider my request to honor that belief Thank you Okay, is there anyone else signed up?

Okay That brings us to the introduction of new legislation mr. President I Ms. Elliot.

I have four items from the Planning, Zoning, and Economic Development Committee. A resolution amending and adopting Chapter 156 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Bowling Green, Ohio regarding access management policies and guidelines. Oops, not in order here. An ordinance amending the zoning district map of the city of Bowling Green for approximately 22 acres at the southeast corner of South Dunbridge Road and Expressway Drive from interstate commercial to institutional zoning. Ordinance accepting annexation of approximately 0.84 acres of land located at 1200 Sandridge Road in Plain Township, Wood County, Ohio from Michael Q. McNamara, agent and petitioner. Ordinance establishing interim zoning of our one low density residential zoning for the approximately 0.84 acres of land located at 1200 Sandridge Road and recently annexed to the city as petitioned for by Michael Q. McNamara.

Thank you, Mr. President. I just have one comment and the person I'm going to reference in this comment is gonna be probably really irritated with me, but you may have noticed, because I've had several comments this summer about how beautiful the flowers in the downtown area are this year in particular. We really appreciate that partnership with the downtown with the SID business owners that every year results in those flowers being planted in the downtown area. But this year, I think they look really exceptional. And that's due in large part to Tom Ross, who's sitting over here tonight. Again, I know he's gonna be angry with me, Some of you may know Tom from his long tenure as an instructor at Bowling Green High School. He's since retired. And he found something really productive to do. And I'm telling you what, he is dedicated to that craft. I see him while I'm out riding my bike generally in the morning before 6 AM. Tom has already been at work for a long period of time watering these flowers. in the downtown area. So for all of you who, like me, appreciate beautiful flowers and the impact that those have in our downtown area, I think that's one of those things that really positively affect the quality of life here in Bowling Green. If you get a minute, maybe just throw a thank you to Mr. Ross as per his efforts and his dedication this summer. It's a lot of work, and Tom's doing a really great job, and we're grateful for his contribution in this manner to our city. So Tom, thank you. Good evening. Hopefully you've seen the communications that have been put out by our great communications staff that we are beginning the work on our fire stations. We are pleased that this work is beginning this week. There is an impact area. that is occurring over at Carter Park. We will be having a temporary entrance into the park while a road is constructed that will change that layout of the park, eventually our entrance and exit. But again, we have it well signed and we've had a lot of great coverage to let folks know that that's going on. and we are excited to get underway with our construction, and we will soon be planning our groundbreaking, so at the next meeting, if not before, we will be getting you that date, and we hope you'll be able to join with us. That's all I have this evening, subject to your questions.

Just a brief update on the construction project at the Pomercia Pump Station. We had put in some odor control equipment at that facility and improved some ventilation inside the building. The majority of that work has been completed. There's a couple of punchless items to finish up, but overall it's been put in place and operational. We're not seeing the same odor issues we've experienced in the past at the intersection, but we still have a few months left to go when we get into the real estate. Dryer weather that's when they the odors would really tend to be prominent at that location. So if we get through this summer and Looks like what we can tell from inside the building things are working very well We should have pretty good results from that from that project At the wastewater plant the two final clarifiers are still under construction if you've seen the large mounds of dirt on that property That's what that's from Those those have been poured they're doing more concrete work for some splitter boxes and control boxes to control the flow Then there'll be some more piping to be installed and some pump work yet to be done So a lot of work has been completed so a long way to go yet But their own schedule and things are looking well there.
