If there is a emergency, walk early to the exit, exit through the doors, down the stairs and out the building. There any questions, please raise your hand. Seeing none, we do not have any non-aggenda items. Do I have a motion to open up early public comment?

3:29 – 3:570

Second. All in favor. Uh reporting committees. Any comment? Public comment. Oh, sorry about that. I'm moving right through. Anybody wishing to come up, please state your name and address. Seeing no one, uh motion to close. So move. Second. All in favor? Hi, report of committee.

3:55 – 5:520

Mayor, just want to start with tribal first aid squad. Uh, their calls for February were 145 calls and 90% answered. I didn't get the complete report. They're still working on it. Um, I do want to remind everybody that their um, April their March 22nd um, pancake breakfast is approaching and um, you could buy tickets ahead of time for $10 or you can buy the door for the breakfast and there is a um, member fair that's happening at the same time and and you don't need to purchase certificate for that. Um, that's the breakfast is from 8 to 1:00 p.m. and the craft fair is from 9 to 2:00 p.m. And, uh, there's also going to be a meet the Easter Bunny. Um, he'll be there from 10 to 12:00 p.m. And there's a 50/50 raffle. And if you needed tickets, you could uh contact Lee Tech at 8622570224. And then uh on April 18th, they also have their Trevor first aid squad squad uh beach skate dinner uh featuring featuring High Strong Band. Uh this is a big fundraiser for them. Uh that's Saturday, April 18 from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. here next door at Fireman's Hall. And um there also will be a 50/50 and small raffles. And of um of course, if anybody would like to participate and be a volunteer, they're still accepting. Uh, and if you need any kind of um equipment or supplies, um, the baseball squad is

5:50 – 7:500

happy to loan out certain medical equipment that you may need um, at no charge. And um, then for the senior center, they um, also have a lot of events coming up. Their new watch schedule is out. Um, and next week they have a golden age applause presentation uh in with and their topic is difference in senior care. It's going to be Tuesday, March 10th at 1:00 p.m. And all events are at the fire hall at this time and they're they're also hosting a uh St. Patrick's Day uh party at Espanzianis and um you could find all of this on the Bloomingdale website, the event calendar for their chair aerobics um and all the other functions that they have. Um and and including uh chair aerobics and other functions and and bingo. That's it. Very good. Uh just for tribal too, I think their new rig is either being delivered or has been delivered to but the new test has come in which is which is good. Okay, John. Two updates for this evening. One for the economic development commission. We met with John Carlo. He's the director of the county commission last Thursday. It was very good engaging and productive conversation. Right off the bat, he had mentioned county.org. It's a good place for us to put all of our events that we have going on. I know Jen had a takeaway to start putting those up there and appreciate that too being on the events committee. I think that'll help to get the word out

7:47 – 9:240

even broader throughout the county. Some other things we were talking about included he'll be here and his staff on August 20th from 12 to 4 in chambers here and the idea is it's an open forum for any local businesses to come in and ask questions learn about the program and all that kind of stuff. So the BBC is going to support him on that and help get the word out. It's also county restaurant week that's coming up in May. So we're going to try to get as many businesses from Bloomingdale as we can to participate. We haven't had any in the past. So that's our our plan for for this year and we were also talking about CDBG grants and things like that for downtown types of improvements. So something think about explore proposals local before the council for your consideration. Second item so this is on the rec side of things but council pedal said I could talk about real quick. So the Bloomingdale wreck basketball program is going very well. We had the All-Star game last Saturday over at Butler High School, which was nice because usually we don't play on the high school court. So, I think it was really great event for the kids to get to play on the bigger court, so to speak. And the championship games are coming up this Saturday from 10 to 3. It's open to everyone. You have to pay at the door. It's a fundraising opportunity. But I do want to tip my hat and give the proper kudos to the folks on the rec basketball committee. They've been doing a very good job. It's been a lot of attendance in the program, a lot of participation, and I think that more importantly, the kids have been having a lot of fun. It's been a great season.

9:26 – 10:100

The to follow up on RC, the rec committee meeting will be on Monday evening uh next week. The next one will follow updates as we planned for summer camp coming up. and uh the planning board met in uh supported uh our housing uh ordinance that we'll be reviewing this evening. So, as you see, you know, it was in full support. No one opposed. Uh we obviously know we have to move that forward to stay on schedule. So, that'll be nice, I believe. And then, uh that's it for me. Think drug alliance is also coming up on Monday. There'll be two meetings from there. Okay. Very good. Great.

10:10 – 10:550

uh, so the board of education met back on the 18th of February and they approved a resolution hiring Legacy Construction Management Incorporated for the construction management services of the new classroom edition and gym at Walter T. Bergen. Their next meeting is March 18th. Environmental's next meeting will be tomorrow night. The Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics of New Jersey was postponed. That will be on March 14th. And the PTA will be having their casino night fundraiser on April 24th at the Null Country Club.

10:53 – 11:250

Very good. Um Board of Health had their their uh meeting last night. Um I am going to reach out to the um administrator of the schools and hopefully set up a meeting with the superintendent just to they they requested they get a better feel of what they're looking for programwise for all three schools. There's a lot of back and forth on but no dates being scheduled. So I think

11:280

yeah Dave let me know he's going to be starting in April.

11:31 – 13:080

Uh they've also asked that we um work harder pushing out what they're doing for the community with with the wellness visits there. They have not seen a big turnout. So uh Mary and Anthony are going to be working on getting those pushed out via Facebook, social media, um so on so forth. Uh so will be working on that. Uh public events, we have several things coming up uh the month of April. Easter egg hunt of course is on the 4th. Charal Little League parade is starting um at uh on the 11th at 9:00 a.m. starting in Butler going to Anderson. Uh fishing tournament is scheduled for the 18th of April. Rain or shine starting 10:00 a.m. Bow Palm. The library did not have a meeting. We do not have a meeting uh in March. Uh but they are uh kicking off uh the first of their events with Pocketbook Ringo starting the 20th. Tickets can be purchased at the library. They don't have a link or anything set up on the site. Uh it's $40 a person and the doors open at 5:30 and calling starts at 7:00. Um you're allowed to bring snacks and drinks to enjoy the evening. The this week kicks off ReadAcross America week and on the 20th of March is the kicking off of New Jersey Makers Day. It's a celebration of STEM and and maker culture. So the kids will be doing projects to celebrate. Um as usual, library is having a great attendance with digital uh between canopy streaming services and living.

13:11 – 13:530

Yeah, just the uh one of my senior center today. They're making progress. The floor is up. They're hoping to have rebar inspection on Friday. They put rebar or mesh rebar full size the entire thing. Just to let you know there in most of Florida there wasn't any rebar or mesh or mesh. So when that was built now you you wonder why it's it's nothing. So but things are different nowadays. Great. Anything else? Just make sure everybody microphones are on. Somebody just texted so they couldn't hear.

13:56 – 14:280

No. I just want to thank the council and the and the planning board for working so hard with us to get all of the affordable housing requirements done well before the deadline. And um hopefully all the adoption will go through today and Bloomingdale will be in compliance for another 10 years. Very good. That's great. Anything else? That's it.

14:26 – 16:250

Okay. Um for me, just uh so the public knows that um our events calendar online, we have made some changes. Uh, for example, the fishing tournament was pushed out a week because literally it was the same day. So, we didn't want to uh put everything in one one spot. So, we moved our fishing tournament from April 11th to the 18th. So, if anybody printed the events calendar in the beginning, um there are some changes and that's going to happen from time to time. um just to make sure that we get all the events in and we try not to interfere with any other organizations. So that that's a a work in progress and it can't have changes. So just go to our website, pull up the events calendar and just check the days to to ensure what you have printed, if you haven't printed or what you've been told that it is correct. Um, also with the last snowstorm, um, again, um, our DPW did a great job. I just want to thank the residents, um, with this storm for shoving out their fire hydrants. Um, the fire department for the storm before that, we went out and there was quite a bit of hydrants that were either covered or not shoveled shoveled out. So, we've been advertising on social media and this time when we did our tour after the storm, it was considerably different. So, people um helped us out and I can tell you the chief and the fire department really appreciate that um to make all our hydrants accessible in case of emergency. So, thank you to the residents that shovel out the hydrants in front of our house or down the street um to help us out. We appreciate that and the DPW guys appreciate it, too. Okay, that's all I have. Um, okay. Resolution number 2026, 3.1, the consent

Okay. And this is I'm just going to talk about this just for a second before we open up public hearing. This is the intersection of Nolles Road and Rathken Road, the lower end. Um, it's been requested by some people on NLS road that is a dangerous intersection and we spoke to our traffic department. They agreed. So, we're just going to make it a four-way stop. So, when people coming down those to the intersection, they'll have to stop and people crossing rapid and cross will have to stop in either direction.
