City Council - Regular Meeting

Good.

Okay, we'll call the July 14th time council meeting to order. Let the minutes reflect all council members are present. And we'll stand for the pledge. No. Yeah, we talked about that in the board meeting today, and Jeremy's getting surprises from All Star to do it.

Okay. We had somebody else going to do it, but they didn't have the right paint, so they bailed out, so now he's getting a prize from All Star. One of them got it. Okay.

It's all clean. There is one along the back side of the fence here. Have you seen that? That's the one that's on Morgan's property. They didn't just take it down. They were not going to cut it up.

There was two trees back there that dropped, actually. And they just dropped them, so it fell down. I don't know if getting equipment over there was the issue or what, but I don't know if that was all the way down or not. And then we also contracted that same company, our lady, shot us a price to go around and pick up the monster piles of limbs and then swamped it around the town. So we were like, we're going to finish up the small piles, let's whip it and get them all home. It's not too big. And then like Lays Street, I mean, there was a whole

Is there any updates on the housing over on London or Auburn?

Auburn. Jeremy said the exterior is mostly done and they're going to start grade work, seating. I don't know what he said about the interior. They're working on the interior. Getting closer. They're over there working every day.

And then the manhole. Are we going to build the roadways up for that?

Well, yeah, that'd be when the final coating painting goes on. So now they've just got a base down, so that'd be taken care of when they put the final coating on.

They do the last bit after all the heavy equipment's out so they don't tear it up. If you notice the front there with those two houses, they've done that final coating out. past those two houses.

So after they do the final coat, the curbs will be flush, and then the main holes will be flush, and then it's supposed to drain properly.

Somebody mentioned go ahead and do that last fall, but it would have been, it would have just got tore up. You've got to wait until they're done, pretty much. You'd be doing it twice if not.

Because I want to do redevelopment, too.

When we did the Packer last year, they were supposed to set up a payment for the Packer and the Coder separate... Supposed to give us just one bill for the totals. We're going to pay. We talked about little paper at all already today. They didn't they when they did it, we saw five or six different copies of the payments at the time. It ended up they just had it all in one. So when I did budgets last year, I budgeted for the Packer payment. And it included the totals. So I'm asking that from rank while transfer to make that payment from rainy day at $33,000. $376.13 to the sanitation fund, and then $2,220 for the stream restoration mitigation work that RES done.

Kelly Hans, I think everybody knows me here, with Holding Space Recovery Project. We are working on a transportation grant. So last year, at the end of last year, we applied for, it's called the Accelerator Initiative, and it's through GMHA, and it's a capacity building grant. So we've been working with, like, we have a business coach who has been helping us, like, build capacity within our organization. And part of that grant when I wrote in was for $30,000 for a vehicle. As we know, transportation is a huge barrier here, especially here in Austin, and especially when people need to get to Scottsboro to get to an appointment. So we wanted a vehicle, so our staff that transport right now, they're using their personal vehicles. We have gotten some grant money to help put gas into their vehicles, but it's wearing hair on their vehicles, and it's just a lot. So $30,000 came in from that grant, purchased the vehicle, tags, title, anything like gas in any vehicle. oil changes and something goes wrong, we'll be able to pay for that for the next year. And then we applied through the Scott County Community Foundation for some money and they awarded us $10,000 just at the beginning of this month. So we're coming and asking for some of the restricted opioid settlement money. So our goal is to hire a part-time person we kind of streamline like doctor's appointments get into the clearinghouse get people to treatment whatever it is that we need our people need and then have one person to be able to drive our company vehicle to get them to back and forth to appointments um so i have broke down the salary i have it on i think everybody has a packet did you guys get this packet so like this
