Board of Public Works - Regular Meeting

Meeting to order at 430. Please rise and join me for the Pledge of Allegiance. Thank you all. Please be seated. Roll call of membership. Let the record note that all members are present and Alder Crote is joining us remotely. We could still do our introductions. So I guess we'll start on my left and then we'll end with Chris.

All right, thank you all. We need to approve our minutes from the previous meeting, 26-0761, to approve the May 12th committee meeting minutes. Do I have a motion?

We have a couple of action items. The first one, 26-0779, approve contract amendment number one as part of the Lindbergh Standpipe Recoding Project to Dixon Engineering, resulting in a decrease to the contract amount from $51,465 to $7,343. I have a motion. Move to approve.

Okay, this is, I guess, good news. You know, we had money budgeted this year to inspect the Lindbergh stamp pipe coating on the inside. Sorry. It's good news. We had money this year to inspect the coating of Lindbergh Sandpipe, the interior coating. We budgeted enough to make some repairs. After the inspection, it came back that the repairs are going to be limited. So this is basically what this is, is just cutting back on that contract amount.

Awesome. Thank you. And it doesn't happen that often that we're able to lower our costs. So that is good news indeed. Any comments or questions from the committee? Let's go ahead and vote. All in favor say aye.

Aye. Any opposed or abstaining? There are none. That is recommended 5-0 for approval. Moving down, 26-0762, request approval of the Electronic Compliance Maintenance Annual Report, eCMR, for 2025 and request the following resolution be presented to the Common Council for approval. whereas the city of Appleton manages, operates, and maintains a sewer collection system and wastewater treatment plant, and whereas treatment efforts produce a liquid effluent and biosolids that are returned to the environment, and whereas the state of Wisconsin evaluates wastewater utilities throughout the state of Wisconsin through an electronic compliance maintenance annual report, eCMR, and whereas Appleton received the score of 4.0 GPA, and whereas the state of Wisconsin requests the Common Council pass a resolution accepting the eCMR report, Now, therefore, be it resolved by the City Council that the City of Appleton, Article 1, continue supporting the treatment and maintenance programs at the utility. Article 2, continue planning efforts that will address and promote long-term performance results at the facility.

Yeah, I'll take it first. Thank you again, Chair Meltzer and committee members. So this happens every year, and this year is like the most recent years. We're at a 4.0 again, highest we can get. So this report highlights all the work that Utilities staff, public works staff, finance department staff do across the whole year. And it's multiple statistics that the DNR wants to see. And we provide all that data. And based on that data, it formulates a grade point average. So 4.0. Just congratulations to everybody that basically provided input, work to this project.

All right, thank you very much and definitely congratulations and gratitude for all the hard work that goes into maintaining this 4.0 Do we have any comments from the committee?
