County Council - Special Meeting

At this time, I will call to order the July 30th, 2026 York County Council special called meeting. At this time, we will engage in the invocation and pledge of allegiance. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for the many sacrifices that you have given us and the many blessings that we have in York County. We thank you for the ability to gather together to conduct business, to live in a free country, and to have a process for us to address issues in our community. We ask for your protection over all of our men and women who serve us in uniform, whether here locally or abroad. We ask for your protection over their families as they serve us. We ask for your guidance as we do the business of the people here today and for wisdom to do the work that you would have us do. In Jesus' name, amen.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

I do want to say welcome to the folks who came out to this meeting. I will say that what prompted this meeting was an order that was issued from Judge McKinnon on July 21, 2026. And that prompted a need to have a meeting that involves lawsuits and that sort of thing. So we will need to get some legal advice. I want to make sure that y'all understood that. Our item is to receive legal advice, still have solar litigation, circuit court order in case number 2024, CP 4602641 and other matters related thereto.

Motion to go into executive session. Second.

Hearing none, we will go straight into executive session. We are out of executive session. No action was taken. The reason we called this meeting tonight was to receive legal advice regarding the order issued by Judge McKinnon on July 21st. We understand the order that was issued is not a final order. A motion for reconsideration was filed, and shortly before our meeting convened here tonight, we learned that the judge has agreed to hear that motion on August 26th. We understand no manufacturing will be on the site prior to August 26th because the order is not final and is subject to change. Council will consider next steps after it has the final order. Do we have any other comments or a motion?
